Sony should send these out to everyone who has a PS5 for free.

Anybody who owns ultrawide monitor and connects their laptops to ultrawide monitor over hdmi, can you guys let me know whether we are able project our 16:9 laptop screen onto this 21:9 monitor with 21:9 aspect ratio rather than laptop's aspect ratio using HDMI?

Hello Jashan, short answer Yes. Long Answer: It does comes down to your graphic card and computers capabilities. Under windows or mac os, when you connect the additional monitor the EDID will tell the computer to display a 21:9 picture. If it doesn't you should ask it to in your displays settings, if you can't find it in your displays settings then your computer may not be capable of it.

AVPro Edge thanks for the reply, I have Asus R558UQ-1105DM with configuration of i7-7500u with Intel HD Graphics 620 as integrated and GTX 940M graphic cards. My laptop has only HDMI 1.4 port(no DP) and display LG 29UM69 has also HDMI 1.4 only. In Intel 620 when I am adding 2560x1080 with 60Hz, its showing "The custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth". Even if it works will it be able to provide good performance i.e. 60HZ refresh rate and 2560x1080p resolution.

@@jashansandhu6715 Sadly it will not. HDMI 1.4 doesn't support 60HZ refresh rate at that resolution. It was updated with HDMI 2.0 but if your HDMI ports are 1.4, the computer chips they used for handling 1.4 are not capable of going beyond 50HZ refresh rate at that custom resolution.

AVPro Edge but why would they put HDMI 1.4 intentionally in monitor. Can still be able to overclock it to that resolution using CRU and desires resolution at 60 hz or it will be 50 hz. I do have USB 3.1 Gen1 which again won’t be able to output video signal so what is the solution here??

@@jashansandhu6715 Maybe they printed it because HDMI 1.4 will still work, just have to run it at 30Hz. If you are doing anything else besides gaming 30HZ is fine, like watching movies or just surfing the internet. If you are setting it up to be your gaming PC, then you will notice the lower frames per second. If that's the case you could try to set the resolution to 1920×800, this will give you the ability to see the 21:9 screen and get 60Hz.
