I think people are intimidated by how fast it can come together. I think even myself as an electronic musician can get thrown by it. Sometimes I can put together something great in minutes, it creates imposter syndrome in me. But at the end of the day, it's just what I love and I'm not going to stop or bother dealing with people who don't get it.

I agree with this. Unfortunately a lot of mainstream electronic music is crap. People who say they hate electronic music haven't listened to the good stuff.

People who think electronic music is not music they also forget that an entire score for films can be perfectly executed with VSTs. I think is the talent of the musician what matters instead of the instrument.

I second that 100% It's just that 'house music' exists for about 35 odd years and the classical world was there first. But it's all about evolving and cross pollination. And not about hierarchy about who plays what instrument the best instead of the emotion in transference of vibe and musicality

My man this was really good, all music is music, electronic, metal rock ext all like metal, rock and all electronic, I like electronic music because not anyone can make a sick beat, I like metal and rock because not everyone can play guitar or drums it takes skills to make electronic music and it takes skill to make metal or rock music. my point is just give electronic music a try it is real music 🎶

I agree, except for that atrocity called "reggaeton" For those who don't know, that's the current Hispanic/Latino "music" which is INCOMPREHENSIBLE because everything is auto tuned to death, and if you manage to understand what's happening is just a mashup of profanities both curse-wise and sexual-wise (but in the most disgusting way) and any song without the auto tune is just the equivalent of horse noises if the poor animal got kicked in the balls. People who sing that, don't have any real singing talent. Because after all, it's a machine the one who does the all job. You don't know how much I miss the days Dubstep was one of the Latino's thing.

It used to really get to me. But now I realise I am in a completely different timeline and moving further away from tradition and into the future. And I got other freaks like you coming with me 😂😂😂👍😎

Well Holo, there's strength in numbers and as we're becoming a rare breed, let's try and have them not influence us! I still think, albeit naively, that Johann could've appreciated a bit of electronics. Let's embrace our embarkment from the norm. Let's create our own future classics that will no doubt be deemed tradition in 100 years time. Thanks for supporting brother.

I'll have to strongly disagree about your stance about the dj's: scratchers and turntablists create music live, no strings attached and you can see what's going on, they can't fake it. Otherwise I'm still amazed we have this debate in 2020. Coming from a "traditionnal" music background, I love music in general, be it electronic, jazz, classical, rap, traditional from a country on the other side of the planet you name it, and the most talented musicians I've met so far or seen live on stage seem to share this mindset (not telling I'm one of them, far from it lol). But I think it's redundant with technological breaks in music. My grand parents didn't consider the electric guitar as an instrument but a noise maker. My parents do not consider you can use turntables as musical instruments (scratching and all that), probably the same happened when the drums appeared in their modern form. People don't like what they don't understand if they're not curious in the first place and open their minds. This doesn't apply only to music, but to every aspects of life. Anyway, sorry about the long read, awesome vid, good cooking! ;)
@AnalogKitchen4 жыл бұрын
Hi Niko. I hear you and understand how you look at it. I myself have dj-ed the last 2 decades but my point is this. Even though I do acknowledge the turntablism skill, I wouldn’t listen to a dj scratching for 2 hrs on end. Musically I can easily perform a musically structured peace of electronics. Playing live had more versatility and less limits and I know the crowd picks up on that. Having played a lot of progressive house alongside djs like Sasha, John Digweed etc, I’ve even played the most musical side of dance music and felt the limits within the set track structure. I’m classically trained myself and play enough instruments. I’m not trying to wise-ass here. It’s just the ignorance of certain people that should know better that I felt I needed to adres. Thanks for checking the vid though!!

I always appreciated electronic music more than anything else. But there are also always commercial trends and surface level media journalists that drag down the entire thing. And they always claim death to whatever made them rich for some years, totally ignoring that electronic music stays alive without them the entire time.

Same argument for what people say when it comes to digital art and that it's not real art and all you do is just brush your pen over a tablet and then boom! suddenly picasso! if only it was that easy.
@AnalogKitchen2 жыл бұрын
The problem being as well… If someone masters their art to near perfection, it tends to look effortless. And as such, people with less creativity that most often are in charge of putting value to it, tend to play it down and * to acknowledge a skillset. If only indeed…
