Because Tyler has a huge following and when someone who's opinion you respect our believe in whole-heartedly then you can make people draw conclusions about something before the even gave it a chance. Eminem was one of the first dudes that got me into rap. His flows and energy gave his tracks a nice polish that the majority of the industry lacked. Down the road, I discovered Tyler and instantaneously gravitated towards his style. Now he’s my favorite artist. Em has to realize that Tyler doesn’t mean it in a disrespectful way. If you actually know Tyler, you know that Em has been one his biggest influences in his career. He just speaks explicitly and unfiltered, something that Eminem should know well lol. There’s a line on till I collapse, “And when your run is over just admit when it’s in, it’s in”. I think he should do some reflecting in the mirror at this point of his career/life. Just like every performer in history, times goes on and you gotta know when to let go. The stuff that was hot in the late 90’s isn’t gonna be the stuff that hits in the 20’s.

A lot of people hated Walk on Water, but I actually liked it. It had a very simple instrumental and the lyrics were very honest and self reflective. But I think a lot of people in the comments are not fully understanding why Em dissed Tyler. It’s not just because he was “expressing an opinion”. It was someone that Em had met, spoke with, and actually liked as an artist. And Tyler claimed to be a fan.
