As airlines in the Middle East continue to pop up, Emirates President Sir Tim Clark says that the airline is not afraid of new competition as it's been around for nearly four decades. Already well-established, the competition is also ramping up at a time when the global air transport industry is forecasted to continue grow in the coming years, potentially meaning sufficient business for everyone…

Even though Emirates having good competitors like Qatar Airways, Emirates was the one, who began the era of the comfortable transfer with high quality on board in the Middle East

Not in the Gulf Region, but Turkish Airlines plans to have 800 aircraft by 2033 and offers excellent service like Gulf Carriers but at half price, and with new business class products coming soon (resembling Q Suite), they will become the dominant carrier.

Turkish will still face stiffer competition from these Gulf Arab players. At least passengers from Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa have better choices. And oh, watch out for Ethiopian Airlines, Air Mauritius and EgyptAir too

Turkish has too many Boeings. Thanx, but no, thanx.

@@RM6737 Emirates, Qatar also have many Boeings. Never has any crashed. Just because some aircraft had problems, doesnt mean anything. Those Airlines always double check their aircraft before putting them into service.

@@ZRHTrainspotter Those two crashes involving 737 Max, plus the plug door incident, had nothing to do with maintenance.

One things problem for emirates, their load factor, yes the THY also facing 80% of load factor and losing to etihad standing in 86%. But both carriers including Qatar is using efficient widebody like 787, 777, A350, A330, etc. so their BEP is lower than gigantic A380, so they turning the profit more. Hoping emirates loat factor at least….83% and im going to happy Fan of emirates and A380❤

True but with Emirates you gotta look past load factor. Their premium/business & first product do all the heavy lifting. That’s something few others have

Well unlike Qatar, the UAE government doesn't outwardly and actively support known terror groups so I could imagine that's probably why Emirates really doesn't have much competition.

The presence of airlines from Islamic countries will block El Al’s membership to any of the major airline alliances (SkyTeam, Oneworld and Star Alliance) for obvious reasons.
