Engagement photos are a non-negotiable for me and my couples. Each one of my clients get an engagement photo shoot, but not all of them experience having an engagement video - which Mikayla and Brandon did.
You will be photographed and captured on video more on your wedding day than you have been throughout your entire life. The key to getting great wedding photos and video is to be comfortable with your photographer and film maker. Being photographed is a very intimate process that can make people feel very vulnerable. The more time you spend in front of the camera, the more at ease you will feel, the better your photos will be.

FINALLY!!! I'm so glad that someone took the initiative to invite videography into the engagement celebration phase of the wedding planning process! I've been hoping this would happen for years as it seems that sometimes videography takes a backseat or side-kick role to photography. My only hope is that 1) this doesn't just become a trend, but an established part of the wedding videography process; and 2) that videographers don't shift into autopilot and relegate this to a "documenting the engagement shoot" process but, rather, engage a deep, storytelling experience that asks informative and emotive questions, and produces an edit that draws an audience (including the couple's future selves) into an unforgettable, undeniable experience of love. Again, SO EXCITING! Thank you for doing this, and thank you to the couple for being open to experience new things!
