The 'best' tech (or even good tech) doesn't make you better at what film making is ultimately about. At its most basic film making is about feeling an emotion, and wanting to convey that emotion to another human being without person to person contact. It's how human dreams have been spread since cave paintings, the invention of the printing press, photography and motion picture. The lie has been peddled by the equipment manufacturers since the beginning of the last century that you can somehow 'buy talent'. You can't. You can develop talent, nurture it, learn the craft and hope the art follows - but the only thing the owner of the newest tech definitely will have is - lighter pockets.
