geese graze really well, I am not sure they can beat rabbit for sustainability as the diets are both easy to fulfill with rabbit having a leg up in the reproduction year around possible and feed conversion. the only farm animal with better feed conversion is the modern cornish cross ( no sustainability as no reproduction viable). I bet the pigs would love to hang out under mulberry tree when the extras start falling to the ground lol. could be great cleanup crew in fall as you dont want any rotten fruit to stay on the ground to invite pests to the orchard. thanks for sharing and Happy Canada day to you too.

Happy Canada Day! This is a very beneficial video Chad. A few months ago we sold two white Chinese geese to a gal with a bunch of brown ducks and they folded into the flock well! She sent a video which I put on our channel. If you like to see it I’ll send it privately. We have a honey locust tree on our property as well as a ton of black locust with thorns. We were wondering if you can buy the thornless honey locust. You said it was the “enormous” variety. Is that correct? You’re making us like the ducks more and more!
@HiddenSpringFarm
@HiddenSpringFarm 3 ай бұрын
It’s spelled INERMIS I believe and does not have thorns and in some cases does not have the legume seed pods, I specifically looked for this variety cause of course the honey locust will be regularly pruned as it gets bigger and I don’t wanna get pricked by thorns. I bought them from our local nursery.

Nice video again, always enjoy. Just curious for clarification, but only a few videos ago you used Trounce insecticide in the orchard, but you state in this video the orchard is organic and no sprays at all are used on anything you grow. Technically it's an organic insecticide though, so I may just be thinking it's not organic farming but now read it is allowed, my bad. It is highly toxic to cats and honey bees as Pyrethrin is highly toxic to them, but breaks down quickly so won't stick around. In general pretty safe, even for egg laying ducks and chicken, dogs, etc.
@HiddenSpringFarm
@HiddenSpringFarm 3 ай бұрын
It’s a fair point, I guess I r just thought of the over the counter stuff as weak compared to commercial insecticide and ddt. We do use it sparingly for the first time this spring and its seems to have helped the trees keep their leaves from being skeletized.
@Kelly_Australia
@Kelly_Australia 3 ай бұрын
@@HiddenSpringFarmI actually read since it contains organic insecticidal ingredients, you're all good. Even if you wanted to sell and abide by regulations of what is organic it still is. I was just curious until I read that.
