Funny how ICT said the idea behind him teaching everyone futures in the 2022 and 2023 models and stopped trading FX was because he foresees major currency disruptions in the future and that had nothing to do with the props firms but still interesting to see that come to fruition through prop firms. I switched to futures because of all the chaos, there still are firms as a US trader I could trade with (and residing in Mexico probably even more available) but the uncertainty is just too high right now. I'm still learning futures but it's an easier transition than I thought. The transparency and tight stops I like more but the tools and platforms are a nightmare. I think a non-futures propfirm or maybe a group need to come together and make a platform, get the rules straightened out and it will be a huge win. But right now, it's chaos.

futures has trailing drawdown. where your max loss is based on your highest unrealized balance, also you HAVE TO close the trade daily. otherwise your account get disqualified. this is just Shit! i bought a future account because of you. but when i realize all these drawback. your talk about futures are just bullshit. CFD conditions are not better. The spread which is fictitious and doesn’t need to be there stuffs up your earning potential. Slippage, also doesn’t need to be there, messes with you. Futures you don’t have that issue. I am adapting to futures. Dxtrade is so shit. I am not in the US and still can’t get MT5, so rather pointless. CFD might not last much longer.

But with future prop forms you can be up 10% in equity and if it drops for a retracement back to 5% of your equity your account is going to breach. That’s what future propfirms do they have shitty ass rules which is why I stay away from them.

Seems like a lot of people are very reliant on prop firms. Had to many eggs in one basket. The forex market is regulated people would just rather have high leverage. The US is protecting the US consumer. Bc prop firms were obviously sneaking around in the background. If prop firms are your end all be all to trading. You should prob stop and move on. Bc promoting prop firms has many traders that have no idea what they are doing trying to jump in an trade large capital that they don’t even have of their own which is going to cause to be emotional trading that money. Good video. But a lot of the influencer are not traders. Most of them all say I only wanna trade for a couple year in be done. Sorry, but US regulations are not why traders are leaving; they're leaving because they don't really know how to trade without all the crazy leverage that's been banned by more forward thinking countries. And fx traders are not leaving for futures; that may be the case for folks you know, but it is an overall incorrect statement. There are a lot that are leaving, sure, but not "all" and it's definitely not because futures are "better"; it's because they can't trade in the first place. The regulations are to protect the trader from treating fx trading as gambling. 90% of fx traders fail. Why? First, because of the education and second because of the leverage. Just wait until all those switching into futures get hit with a lock limit, and they lose their house: they'll come back to the liquidity of the forex market. You mention CFDs - that's even worse; total gambling. I list 7 reasons on my website why the fx market is a superior financial trading vehicle. However, those reasons are only valid if the person understands trading itself as opposed to thinking high leverage with Bollinger Band confluence with an RSI is what trading is all about.

The issue is based upon how the US has a tougher outlook on retail trading to other countries . The US system is based upon more regulated trading conditions (where your trades must pass through an exchange). CFDs violate this as they do not pass through an exchange. Prop firms using paper trading accounts in the US technically isn't the same as CFD trading but it essentially has the same premise, where a trader is using an unregulated account to make money. Since there is real profit/loss (by purchase/payout) attributed to this 'paper' account it sort of emulates a CFD and that is where the issues arise. My understanding of it anyway.

Who is switching to futures? I'm in Australia, its a pain in the ass trading futures from here or anywhere really in South East Asia unless your trading the Hang Seng, Nikkei or maybe Dax, but, why would any retail trader bother when these assets are available as CFD's without the data costs, trading platform costs etc. Pretty sure Mrs Wanatabe is doing just fine.
