Problem with BJP has been the recruitment of fringe elements into the party. Almost all rejects from BJD that have joined the party are no populars. When it comes to Pandian and opponent Aparajita Sarangi the difference in conduct is quite evident between two although both are ex bureaucrats. One of them uses distasteful language to target the opponent all the time and most Odias dont like that.There is a huge gap in connecting with people from BJP as well. Except for Sambit Patra non of the BJP leaders have connected with their local constituencies. It is going to be a great opportunity miss for BJP for sure this time.

Am from Odisha. Despite Naveen Patnaik’s advanced age related issues, he still enjoys massive popularity among the masses. But majority of the same Naveen-BJD supporters hate Pandian to the core. In odisha bjp can never be a formidable force for the given reasons 1. Odisha lands the highest number of pvtgs i.e 13 , 22%of tribal population. This are then not a monolithic homogeneous vote bank to get and there is no bsp or dalit identity party in odisha to dent in this vote bank. Bjd has alwayz been able to galvanise these voters into them due to better implementation of pesa, fra 2006, community rights under wpa 1972 . Giving msp for millet as well as ntfp. 2. The regional diversity submerge under a single feeling of love for odisha ,even the muslim harmony is one to be given example . Cuttack and bhadrak stands as the testament to this fact. Every 4th and 5 th generation muslim identity themselves as odia first. 3. The national hindutva polarisation ,gets a cold current when it lands to the odisha because odisha knows only one supreme lord "JAI JAGGANTH". 3 . Odisha politics always followed an electoral non alignment to the national electoral politics which immuned the BJD , from any nationaal alikances and baggages of past . 5. Naveen Patnaik is a gentleman politician, he never plays dirty politics, divisive politics or foul game. He never attacks any opponent with derogatory remarks. He has done very good work in odisha..Odisha, once popular as a poor state now is known for sponsoring hockey, mission Shakti, improvement connectivity, infrastructure development, disaster management etc. Mr pandian is also behind the implementation of 5T initiative.
