No leader was and will ever be perfect for the ever-divided country. One factor that could've brought the Marcoses back is that Filipinos are tired of finding that "ideal leader" all these decades, that majority have opted for tough and drastic change. After Marcos Sr. was ousted, more and more sh*tty officials came, politicians became greedier and abusive. We've also seen a huge influx of financially able yet incompetent officials. That's why Duterte was elected in the first place, then now came someone who's sure has more diplomacy, that would continue not only his father's legacy but Duterte's projects.

True. I lived as a young girl during ML and growing up I saw the changes after EDSA’86. Sadly for us Filipinos, the system was even more corrupt and because the next president sold most of the govt owned corporations we are now reaping the consequences - high prices of utilities e.g water/ electricity/ fuel. The political analyst questioned is very obviously leaning towards the opposition. We've been under the rule of these so-called oppositions for 30 plus years and the lives of the Filipino people became worse. The rich became richer, the poor became poorer. Promises of change were abandoned. People are now more people enamored to working president that shows performances as exemplified by Digong. He has accomplished so much infra projects in so short a span of time. The Philippines has had 2 Aquino presidents and both were mediocre in performances. Both cancelled major projects initiated by previous administrations that were terribly needed and for Noynoy he laid out 85 infra projects only to finish 3 projects in 6 years. There was no “history being forgotten” ever happening in the Philippines. We knew what happened when we were young (People Power 1986) and the older generation are still with us up to now. OCTA research divulged that even the younger generation prefers Marcos over Robredo. The “come from behind win” of Robredo will only happen if the magic of vote shaving and vote padding happens digitally. And yes, Sara Duterte is a very popular and charismatic politician whose subtleness is starkly different from the rough edges of her father Duterte but nonetheless lethal to her opponents. The controversial Drug War which Robredo used to malign the image of our country in front of the United Nations backfired on her because what we experienced during the early weeks or months was never actually how she described it before the UN. It has offended patriotic Filipinos more. The truth with the Philippines was after the ouster of Marcos Sr., there was nothing that the succeeding government had ever done to improve the quality of life in the fringes of the soceity until Duterte got elected and the things he did (drug war, build build build, pandemic response) were all felt by the poor people who actually benefited from the dropping crime rate, the new roads, new sturdy bridges, new multi-level school buildings and new provincial/municipal government hospitals. Yes they are all newly built and the Filipinos experienced the presence of a responsive government for the first time since 1987. A government that is pro-active in the face of an upcoming storm that our fellow filipinos will never have to fend for themselves when faced with a super typhoon like Haiyan. The organization was so refreshing to all of us. When the Manila water concessionaires were trying to limit the potable water in Metro Manila one summer, it only took a warning from Duterte to open the tap or else. They opened the tap and there was no shortage of water until the rainy season came. That was how they were making us pay for under-performing public utilities and Duterte changed the status quo. Now ask us, do we want to dwell in the past? No! We want to go into a bright future and you all know that Filipinos are one of the most hardworking family-oriented people if you have met one.

Because 1. He has the longest executive leadership and chief local government experience 2. He was the governor when Ilocos Norte achieved exportation amount of Agri Products. 3. He was the governor who implemented the PPP projects of clean energy (wind mill), the biggest and model of Wind Energy in South East Asia 4. Based on his filed bills, he is into solution based (technocracy) 5. Based on his interviews, he understand how internet works and how important digitalization in the government is, esp to lessen corruption Why we want those? Because our Agriculture Industry and Energy needs are in dire need of boost. Marcos is the only candidate who has experience implementing (chief executives) on both sectors. We put ourselves as Human Resource employee, who look at the person itself and not his family. We do not judge a person based on their family issues. He is the rational choice. The closest candidate does not have executive leadership and governing experience. I am dumbfounded when people says, she is the choice for them- It is so illogical. The other candidates includes the 3-year local chief executive, the other have long executive experience but not much experience in local government leadership and of course.
