I was sleeping when this was on it was 5am here. Sorry, I missed it! Looks like the chain is missing on the motorbike. Be careful letting others use your vehicles another friend loaned out a car and the car was hit by a motorcycle. She had to pay the girl's hospital bills because they put her in the car and took her to the hospital before she bled out and died. Also, all the damage done had to be paid for by her or she would have her car impounded, etc! Her lawyer was there with her by then at the police station, or they may have even arrested her and the driver of the car, when it was not even their fault for anything. So be careful, especially letting drunks drive or use anything you own that is an accident waiting to happen and you would be responsible for owning it. The lost chain is not that expensive. Luckily that is all the damage so far. I have a feeling the locals have been eating a lot of crabs from your pond for the past few months. That many crabs don't just disappear. Looks like there is enough left for a meal and that's about it. Sad ending for your fish pond and a lot of work for nothing. Better luck with your next investment. Next time think about why arent the owners running a business there if it is profitable, the owners make their money renting it out and make nothing with their own business there. They are the smart ones in that location. Plus to have some other landowners tell you that you can't access the pond location the way you had been is a huge problem the owners of the fish pond need to get written approval to access the fish pond area and pay those land owners for access and get it in writing to include in the lease! When that landowner said there were too many crossing his land that is a hint that you were being robbed of all your crabs by someone! Well on to better things in the future. Take care and God bless everyone. Love you all!

Yeah true. Actually the area has a lot of theft that's why anyone who rented the pond doesn't last long including the land owners. After the harvesting we left the pond unattended. Few days to weeks the theft took some of the things we have at the pond including the net, some useful things and even the metals, etc.

@@filipinalife That’s sad but people will do what they need to survive so just think of it as they needed it more than you at that point do hopefully it goes to good use to feed their families. The land owners make their money leasing out the pond. They didn’t tell you all your things get stolen there or you wouldn’t have leased it. So they will have to explain deceiving to God in the end and karma will get them sooner or later. Sounded like your pond fed a lot of people big amounts of crab and most likely plenty of everything else. We live and learn and I am sure anything you do in the future you will consider how secure things are before you invest. Shrinkage is what it is called here. That is the losses from theft. It is a major factor in anything we all do in any business.

Hi Crishel,,after all the hard work,,its pretty sad that things didn't work out for you and the fam. Hopefully your cousin will have better luck. I bet those shrimp and crabs were delicious! I 😏❤❤. It was extra cool that Sophia and the 3 girls got to spend time out there,,and they definitely learned a few things. Poor Reddy Teddy is getting beat to hell. Its good that your Dad and Uncles and cousins are mechanically inclined. When will you travel next? Vietnam? Lol take care my sweet Filipina girl. Ttyl,,,Marlon

Thank you so much Marlon. I'm still happy I get to experience fish farming. It's fun but this will be the last. I don't have any travel plans yet no budget for another travels. 😅

I commented this before, but in Indonesia many people raise catfish in cement ponds in their yards. It’s very easy to keep an eye on thieves there. Since they don’t require much oxygen from the water, they’re ideal to do on the cheap. Not sure if there’s a demand there though.
@filipinalife5 ай бұрын
Yes I was thinking of doing that too months ago. Once I have capital to build cement ponds I'll do that project.

I liked the fishpond videos, there were so many little side stories. Good luck to your cousin, when he wants to run the fish pond for the rest of the lease time. He needs a lot of foresight to prepare for the many issues and problems, but then he can make some money. Perhaps you can make an advertising video, when he has fish to sell! 🙂 There should be a bigger project like what the previous Thai king did. Fish pond, chicken, vegetables, rice if possible, and craftsmen to repair the tools and build some infrastructure like nets, levees, cages etc.. It's very coordinated from a certain starting point that got subsidies. The whole village would be involved and has work, and nobody is so poor they must steal.

There is a saying "It takes a whole village to educate a boy." I think Richard has some good talents and is handsome, but he needs to take care about what he is doing. Unfortunate events can hold him back from succeeding. Good luck to him also, his scenes on the videos were good contribution.

Not sure who this Filipina is but she definitely needs a mentor who is willing to teach her how to build a proper structure for growing various types of fish, as well as how to construct a proper green house for growing various types of vegetables both for family sustainment as well as for conducting sales of excess through detailed planned harvests.

My fish pond idea! I want a fish pond on my farm but not to sell off a lot of fish, I want it to provide fresh food for my family. So the cost will be absorbed by the savings of buying the food we would all be eating. We can have different types of fish and crab etc to eat and also grow our vegetables and potatoes etc so we have plenty of food for our family and any extra we can trade for chicken and pork or we can just buy them they are too noisy and stinky to have on the farm. I like the sound of small waterfalls so I can set up a solar pump with a battery to run 24/7 pumping water over some rocks and back into the pond making my own little waterfall. That should keep the water from getting stagnant and smelling, therefore not attracting mosquitoes to lay their eggs there and if they do the fish will eat their eggs. That would make it a peaceful place to be around and just hear the water flowing over some rocks and back into the pond. It would also be a great place to have a fire pit and picnic tables etc.! Just a great place to relax with family day and night. Finish off the area with some hammocks for naps and I may just live there on nice days! LOL! Once it is in and it is stocked it should replenish itself with the fish etc reproducing. So that's my idea about a fish pond do you have any input about it after your adventures with your fish pond?

Sorry to hear your fish pond did not work out. You and your family are such hard workers. You deserve success but always undercapitalised. Imo. You should try and access funds from a UN style organisation. You have proven you will employ locals and could be very successful one day. I will send a small contribution.

Thank you 😊. Yes I do put a lot of effort but everything's happened for a reason. My next project is vegetable farming but for family food needed only I guess. Depends on how many seedlings and fertilizers I can afford.
