My hubby was a Captain for a large Commercial Airline. Retired now….we can use his perks which involves flying “free” but on standby. We just returned from 10 awesome days in Rome and our bill was 107.00. (Taxes, I think.)We scored premium select seats too. At times we will get first class if not booked by paying customers. We are blessed and very grateful to have this during our retirement days. We also love the lounges at the airport. Such a great way to start a trip. I love following you guys!!!❤❤❤

Nope, cannot sleep on planes either; except for when I flew on United Polaris to Porto before starting the Camino de Santiago in Tui, Spain. We were upgraded and the seat reclined to a bed. It was amazing!

I can never get much sleep on board flights and I have to consume quite a bit of alcohol before I am relaxed enough to finally get at least a couple hours of sleep. Luckily, I am able to drink all I want when I fly and it does not have the same effect on me like most others. I don't get drunk or even buzzed. I just get relaxed and calm. I am also a former airline employee so I definitely am not someone who would ever be disruptive or give any flight crew members any type of grief at all. (I took a sleeping pill once on a flight to Helsinki and I was awake and jittery all night over the Atlantic. Weird, huh?) But everyone is different and I know that I am one of the few that can drink as much as I do and not become or act intoxicated whatsoever. Good tip about the chocolate gift for flight attendants and I will purchase some unique chocolates locally produced where I live (Wisconsin) for my next trip. I used to travel much more than I do now, mainly from 1990-2012, but hoping to do a bit more in the not so distant future. I've been to all 50 states and 67 countries and have a few more I really would like to visit. But I'm not recklessly ambitious and have no need or desire to travel to certain places that perhaps are not so "safe" and I won't travel somewhere that the United States has no diplomatic relations with. You must have stayed in an AIrbnb or something similar which is NOT me. I am a hotel person and like convenience, quality, amenities, services and a division between guest and employee which something I value. Travel safely and have fun you two! You have a good non-narcissistic attitude (unlike many You-Tube vloggers); don't become like them. Viszlát!

You can drop more than $50 on a meal and two drinks at any restaurant in the airport, easily. I don't think that's bad at all! I frequently upgrade to first class after I've booked too. I'm a big lady, and have gotten spoiled to that now, so I almost always do. I've gotten it for as little as $175 for the upgrade. By the time you figure in two free checked bags, a meal on the plane, enough room for an actual human being to sit, and free drinks on the plane, totally worth it. Even when it's 3-400 extra. I have a neck pillow that actually straps to the little flappy things on the seat head rest and clicks under your chin. Holds your head in place and I love it. That is so sad about your flight delay! DAMMIT! Those super long flights are crazy. It feels like some kind of twilight zone time warp and bam, there you are in such a completely different place. I COULD have slept on the plane last time I went to London, but the flight attendant kept banging into my arm or shining the flashlight in my face. I took 10mg of ambien and could have been comatose. I was fairly grouchy about it lol What a great vlog so far and I can't wait to see more! I never knew I needed to go to Portugal.

I wish sharing what we work hard for and what makes us happy didn't have to come with a disclaimer or make us feel like we are flexing when we talk about it or share it. You guys deserve this. You guys chose the life you live so you can achieve this. Lottsss of us could have too but we chose otherwise. I'm a prime example of that. Wanted to travel my entire life with plans to do so for at least my entire twenties. I chose otherwise, had kids instead and it means it isn't reachable currently. It may not fly for us right now but watching ya'll do it and living life to your fullest while you're young is why I'm here. My babbling prob made zero sense lol.
