I think FORD might be pulling out of Europe MAINLY because the energy situation in Europe makes vehicle production (regardless of vehicle type) cost-unsustainable.
@eddiemilne49892 күн бұрын
Tesla in Germany and the Koreans and JLR in Slovakia are not struggling despite rising energy costs..But Ford in Western Germany have higher wage costs,lower productivity and an overpriced,unreliable end product..As do Stellantis,Nissan,Honda and VW..All the most profitable and modern plants are located in what was once the Communist block,bar Nissan in the UK,the most profitable Nissan plant(it is in Japan and China that lets them down),where they haven't forgotten the value of hard work..And if that fails to protect them then tarriffs against Chines dumping their over production will..

@@eddiemilne4989 Slovakia a country of barely more than 5 milion people has two large nuclear power stations. So energy price in not that big problem there.

If EVs are the answer then take off all the EV subsidies and tax breaks and zero-rating for VED and let them compete on a level playing field with ICEs.
@simonbarrow4792 күн бұрын
And take off all the subsidies that the petrochemical companies get too whilst you’re there.
@warringtonminge41672 күн бұрын
@simonbarrow479 Agreed, level playing field. Though oil companies pay a number of additional and windfall duties and taxes that nobody else except oil pays so they would have to be removed too which would bring petrol prices down by something like 50%-75%

They tripled the prices. I guess they think everyone is stupid.

No they listened to special interest groups, woke politicians and the media…everyone but who actually buys their cars

When you revive the name Capri and you put the badge on a vehicle resembling a delivery van you're bound to fail.

you do not need "eight reasons", i can sum it up in one!, EV's!

Why should someone who DOES NOT WANT to buy a battery car subsidise someone who does.

I have a 2013 ford. I'll have it running as long as possible! I'm not touching new cars with geo fencing, always connected and remote shutdown!

"The majority of consumers do not want EVs". There, much shorter and accurate response.

Government subsidies for EV's failed to reflect the wants of consumers. Until a viable alternative to ICE vehicles becomes available things will not change.
@artyomzakharenko6575Күн бұрын
I would never invest in an EV, because you wont be able to get rid of it, nobody wants a 2nd hand battery, especially when the warranty expires

the don,t sell even second hands with low miles on it for half the price, and also when you dont have a charger at home its not much cheaper than a gasoline car and more expansive than a car with a diesel engine

They are not pulling out of Europe at all, total nonsense. Like all makers they streamline to market conditions operating now for family cars as they have gone into EV only nearly due to governments legislation and huge fines put upon all makers. Also EV demand is far lower than told and expected to be so you restructure production for that until.

I only live thirty miles outside London in South Buckinghamshire which has a population of around half a million..The only Ford dealer in the area closed last year..I can go a whole week without seeing a recent Ford model..People like you thoughr Harris would walk it..Stop looking for excuses at look at what's in car parks instead !
