I am moving to the Philiines because I am retiring in 2020, I met my Wife there, and I bought a condo there. For me the people are wonderful and so nice and the cost of living 50 Pesos to the Dollar is fantastic. The beaches are so awesome. So clear and clean. There are so many waterfalls and place to explore. The Philippines is so much slower pace vs the USA. The downfall is it is hot as #@!% and it rains and rains. Also there is so much pollution from the cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles and from burning trash. Once you have been there you will want to come back. If you are single and meet that special someone you will want to move there like I am doing. Nice video Wil and Aloydia. You look great after all that has happened. Keep making the videos. I love seeing the Philippines and cannot wait until 2020.

I came across your videos last year when I typed in my search box "beautiful islands" one of your videos popped up and that is how I ended up subbing to your channel. Seeing these islands through your point of view was different and I fell in love w/ the Philippines. I've never been there but when you make these types of videos it's hard not to notice all the friendly, smiling faces. I hope to one day visit these islands, bucket list goals definitely. Saturday morning... kind of cleaning up the house a little since we had a bunch of teenagers over having fun at our house. So... the kids are still asleep and Mom and Dad have started a little laundry and are enjoying a steaming cup of coffee. And what pops up...? This, so we gave it a look. Why do foreigners move to the Philippines? To be honest, I've been part of a Filipino family for close to two decades, so I feel like I'm something that's not foreigner and not purely Filipino. Of course, Jennifer is Filipina and the kids have pinoy blood flowing through their veins, but Dad... well he's still pasty, white, and subject to the worst sunburns on the planet. But... let's get back to why foreigners want to make this home. I was living and teaching in Seoul in 1999 when I first made it down to the Philippines (Davao to be exact). My friend's wife told that if I wanted a relaxing time in a warm place, Davao would be ideal. It was January in Seoul and it was cold, gray, and I needed some color in my life. Seoul is a place with nonstop energy and a rush-rush mentality that has you always on the go... I got to Davao and the first thing I noticed was that time moved far more slowly. Each tick of the second hand echoed and the time between the ticks seemed an eternity. People moved in a fluid and relaxed way on the street. I loved the Filipino lack of self imposed urgency that permeated the air in Seoul. It was so refreshing not to run from subway to subway to coffee shops just because we all moved at an enhanced pace. In Seoul, eye contact on the street was almost unheard of. No one would think of saying hello to a stranger, but in Davao... People on the street would look directly at me and say something... Yes, a lot of times it was..."Hi Joe", and my name is Steve, but in the end a smile and a "Hi" was welcomed. It's a long story... (I'm prone to long stories), but I met my wife on that trip. We had a two year long distance relationship between Seoul and Davao. Since we've been married, we've lived in Seoul, the US, and now in the UAE. It's been an adventure to say the least. In the end, we'll move back to the Philippines and live out our days in a sunny, relaxed fashion... smiling at folks on the streets, beaches, and malls. There are many more reasons to speak of as to why people like us move to the Philippines, but hey... it's a great choice. Keep on keepin' on!
