I went to Kid Cudi man on the moon show in Cleveland and had horrible experience. Sound was undulating the whole time, Carti was late af and only performed for like 30 minutes. I agree with everything your saying and their needs to be more attention to it. Hard to wanna spend the money atp to go anywhere. Was considering lyrical lemonade fest and rolling loud but I doubt things will be any better. Fans need to start booing when artists aren’t on time. I just hate when big artists are so uncompromising in their vision that they forget what the fans are really there for. He can't even deny the story because it pretty much all checks out. He had an elaborate stage, then doesn't like it at the last second. So he delays the show while they make a stage he likes. But now it's not his vision, and that's my guess for why he pulled the stream. Like bro your vision matters but so do the fans, you can literally walk onto a blank stage and do your set and it'll be nothing but a positive experience for everyone.

What ticks me off about all of this is that the whole backstage crew and dancers put in hours of work a day for MONTHS just for him to make very last minute changes and cut a great majority of the performance. I really feel for them, it seems like a very irritating and frustrating situation to be in but I heard the dancers still got paid at least. I don’t know much about Frank Ocean, but that was a pretty dick move.

You can find the footage on KZbin. It's not Frank that's bad per say, it's the moments where he literally leaves the stage and has a song going in the background. Then he comes back and doesn't even hide the fact that he's singing along to his own song while it plays. You hear more of the crowd than Frank himself. He probably only actually sang about 20 minutes of songs out of the 45 minutes to an hour he had. Everything else was basically a listening session. I'd be mad as hell too. Lol

the thing that hurts with frank is that he's a fully independent artist. he doesn't have any record label breathing down his back about touring or performances or making appearances or making x amount of money. if he didn't want to be at Coachella, there's nothing forcing him to be there. he had to want to be there so just hearing how he was just going through the motions and felt obligated to be there just sounds like such bullshit. really disappointed he wasted everyone's time instead of just laying low till he had an album ready. if he said "sorry im late but a new album drops next week" and he played one or two singles off the album i genuinely think most people would have looked past the lateness and the nonchalant mood he was carrying.

I streamed. The artists I wanted to see showed up and were on time, even the ones with well known emotional/mental struggles. I did stay up to see Frank Ocean and was annoyed at finding out 30min into the wait that I wasted my time but I feel more for his Fandom. We may have reached a point where it shouldn't be a given that headliners of US festivals are North American or English speaking. I won't go as far to say there may be some entitlement attitudes going on but now that the world is more musically global, I wouldn't blame Coachella or other hosts for seeking headlining talents with highly professional records.
