It isn't just about Geno though either. How long will we have Leonard Williams? How many more good years from DK? There is a 2 or 3 year window with the roster as it is now set. So... you let Geno go and no decent replacement is found... or even a good one is found, but takes 2 or 3 years to develop; you miss the window of the remaining good years of a few of Seattle's best players. If let Geno go....might as well trade DK and Leonard Williams and get something for them that you can build alongside a young quarterback.

If we do keep him, there's a reason, and you should reconsider your stance. A lot of football people think Geno is good. Coaches, players, and a lot of fans. That’s what I’ve been saying man. No, geno is not some top 5 qb maybe not even top 10. But we aren’t going to do better than him. Nobody in FA is better than geno and no rookie is going to be better than geno. And even if we wanted a rookie to sit for a year or two, next years draft is WAY better than this year. So ride with geno, who already knows the team dynamic and is liked by the team, and draft someone next year.

John Schneider failed to draft Malik Willis in 2022 NFL Draft 3. John Schneider failed to draft CJ Stroud or Hendon Hooker in 2023 NFL Draft 4. John Schneider failed to draft Jayden Daniels or JJ McCarthy or Bo Nix or Joe Milton in 2024 NFL Draft By having said that, here is the list of options that John has and he should proceed with one of them to replace Geno Smith: 1.
