I took a look at the interface, and it's so clear. Takes as much as 4 minutes to fully understand what you can/need to do.

There is a bit of a learning curve but if you’ve used roll20 or another type of virtual tabletop yeah it’s all very straight forward.

You forgot to mention that you can build custom races classes and feats. So if it’s not in the free package you can make it yourself. I’m enjoying shard quite a bit. The only downside so far is that your material is stored on their google drive so eventually I’m going to run out of room and I’ll have to decide if I want to pay for more.

@@nairocamilo oh hey. Sure. So you can sign up for free but all the building and storage of your adventures is on their site which is backed up by them. They don’t say how much data you’ve stored so I don’t know how much custom material you can add yet. I think we will get more details when the final product is released. Personally I’d like to be able to back up my custom content locally so that I have control. For instance I accidentally deleted about 12 hours of writing and had no real recourse. I have started writing my stuff in local google docs but if I want to use it in game it has to be stored on their site. I’m honestly not sure if that explains it any better or not. If I still am unclear let me know and I’ll try to reiterate better.

@@nairocamilo well until we see the limit it’s hard to tell. This is all text and hyperlinks so it doesn’t take up a lot. I’m just working on one adventure and if I run out of room I’ll delete the older ones I’ve already run.

The only thing that counts towards the upload limit is images (artwork and maps)

Anyone else use Foundry? How does Shard compare? I suspect Shard is easier to use but with less functionality? I could see me using both.

Different philosophy. Shard embraces the 5e rule set and does require or allow plug ins. Shard is cloud service, no installation or manual application of patches required. Content creation for Shard does not require programming.

I found it kind of limited. I am guessing its only has srd? Many races were not available. Did they pay for the WoTC license?

By default, the SRD content is what is loaded. You will find a lot of additional content on shardtabletop.com/free-content, which is linked at the top of the application home page. Our marketplace will launch in March and bring fantastic set of content for your game with it, including an incredible collection of character options.
