I wish y'all aspiring leaders in Uganda would come to similar conclusions like those of Dr. Besigye, only then, will Ugandans expect to see change soon! Without a shift in power, with all institutions serving one man, without democracy and/ or rule of law, any one of them opposition leaders jostling for positions/power, will end up where Dr. Besigye is right now! Doing same things and expect different results! What is also questionable are intentions of many in the Opposition! Politics in third world countries became a some sort of bussiness, where people invest lots of money in voters to get em in big offices to make money, indeed some in the Opposition are very comfortable with the little resources, crumbs if you like, government throws at the Opposition parties and they kinda like in a comfort zone, run out of steam, yet they still occupy positions in parties! This talk about peaceful means makes me sick! There comes a time when people must understand that peaceful resolution of differences comes when two sides agree on peace! It cannot be one side! Elections can only shift power in a democracy! In Ugandas case the sooner Ugandans realise that Mr Musuveni will never be removed by elections except with some sort of intervention by outside forces, the better!

Dr. Besigye's decision not to contest can be compared to the biblical story about a case presided over by king Solomon about two women who're each claiming to be the mum of the living baby and Solomon took a decision to cut the baby into two and give each lady half only for the true mother to beg the king not to cut the baby but instead give it to the other woman while the other lady kept asking the king to cut the baby into two, this was enough for the king to identify the right mother. Similarly, opposition forces are each claiming superiority in the struggle and have been forcing Dr. KB to step aside claiming he's tried several attempts and failed and so to avoid dividing the struggle and subsequent loss of the struggle focus, KB decided to step aside and leave other players.
