Walt Disney, a flawed man, who had atleast some wisdom. This applies to everything nowadays. Kids shows shouldn't be high-brow or ultra smart, they should simply be enjoyable. Thomas was one of those shows that were simply enjoyable. I admit, the season 7 and 8, as well as the hit era aren't the best, but when compared to such a dumbbed down piece of Garbage like AEG, is basically 10/10.

I've loved Thomas and friends since I was a little girl in the 2000s. And ik I'm late to the party but I do want to say this for my fellow Thomas fans. While I do love the some of the characters that were introduced in the CGI series such as Hiro and Yong Bao, I do think the art style of the Thomas and friends reboot is cute, but my goodness why Mattel? Why? Obviously Mattel never heard the saying "If it's not broken, then don't fix it." I miss the days when Thomas and friends was owned by Hit Entertainment, I would always watch the episodes on live television or DVD and ofc vhs tapes and the advertisement trailers for The Wiggles, Angelina Ballerina, etc. I honestly hope Mattel loses the Thomas license and Thomas will be given a more proper reboot by people who actually care about the series. I miss Edward and Henry, they were always my favorite of the steam team since my favorite characters were and still are Duck, Oliver, Toad, Donald and Douglas and ofc Lady. At this point, Mattel should give Thomas and friends to Hasbro since Hasbro would actually take care of the series.

Mattel needs to sell thomas to another company like hasbro. The motorized thomas in 2009 was good the toys were as good as tomy. The toys of thomas today are so unrealistic unlike the ones me and other people like me grew up with. Hasbro should own thomas and hit entertainment and bring back toys from 2006 and 2009 and allow gulluane to make the old toys that children like me had.

i have some things on how all engines go can be fixed 1) it can still be 2d-animated, but can be combined with 3d animation, (and with the engines looking 2d but are actually 3d) 2) the engines still having their personalities and voices 3) the engines cannot jump off the track, turn 360 degrees, and do cartoony things, and can only move like a normal steam engine 4) the engine's faces will not be alterted to make it more baby-like and look similar to either the cgi series or the model series faces if you want, you can tell me more suggestions in the replies

After keeping an eye in the toys section of Walmart for years, the last three years I haven't seen(or rather couldn't find) Thomas & Friends toys on the shelves. This should be a decent sign the series is in deeper water where not even a submarine could get to the deep ocean trench the franchise has landed in.

We have a grocery store in Bellevue that specializes in Japanese imports and they used to have multiple Thomas items from Japan but now there's only one. It's a container with fruit flavored candies shaped in the heads of some engines and each container has a different face and you can connect them together. I don't understand the point of that but I decided to buy at least 2 just to try it out. I got Thomas and Hiro. I went a couple weeks ago or so and they still have the CGI designs.

TUGS had one season. And this reboot tells me that Mattel thinks kids today are idiots who need constant movement, constant flashy colors, constant noise, because they apparently think all kids have the attention span of a goldfish. They also think they can skimp on merchandising because kids are gullible idiots who will gobble up anything with the Thomas name on it. The only thing that can save Thomas now is Mattel going bankrupt and the franchise getting sold to a company who actually cares; best-case scenario would be a Japanese company like Toei or Tsuburaya; if the franchise went to either of them, not only would the series be treated with respect, but since they still use practical effects in their shows (Super Sentai and Kamen Rider for Toei, Ultraman for Tsuburaya), any new Thomas series made in Japan would, in all likelihood, bring back the models. Not only would this be a victory for us older fans, it would also help the series stand out from other animated shows that use hand-drawn, Flash, CG, or stop-motion. They could make it a British co-production to market the show in Britain, as well, and for the English dub, bring in a well-known British actor (perhaps they could even bring Ringo back!).

I'll admit I completely understand why alot of people hate this reboot, I'm not a fan of it either, but to be honest, I do feel like something should be said in defense of "All Engines Go" _(I know that sounds crazy when it's said out of context, but hear me out)._ The generation of people that came before us pretty much hated the kids tv shows that we grew up with, because they thought it didn't have the same charm as the shows they grew up with _(does that sound familiar)._ Think about it, when we were kids and we put on a show like classic thomas, spongebob, jimmy neutron, dora, etc, we were thrilled, but our parents or any other adult around that time probably rolled their eyes and saw it as hot garbage. The previous generation of kids grew up with shows like The Three Stooges, I Love Lucy, The Twilight Zone, and other old school shows. So when they grew up and saw how entertainment for children has changed over time for our generation, a good chunk of them most likely had the same thoughts that we all have right now when we look at 'All Engines Go' and any other show that was specifically made for kids of the generation after us. History is just repeating itself, and the generation after us will most likely hate the 2050 tv shows and say they don't hold up to the shows they grew up with, like 'All Engines Go' for instance. One thing that the Thomas fanbase and alot of other fanbases need to understand and accept at some point. People, environments, and taste in entertainment changes over time, and if a popular franchise like Thomas still wants to continue to speak to a child audience, it needs to change and evolve along with the rest of the world, even if it means going against the old school fans' and Wilbert Awdry's wishes _(again I don't condone that thought, but it is the ugly truth wether we like it or not)._ I'll probably be the first Adult Thomas fan to say this, but if I was a 4 year old and I saw 'All Engines Go', I would probably enjoy it. The reason why is because I wouldn't care or even know about corporate greed, Awdry's intentions, or what the previous generation thinks. All I'd wanna see is a talking train go on an adventure, I'm a 4 year old in this scenario, the story behind it's production wouldn't be my concern. We probably didn't care about the story behind the production of the shows we grew up when we were kids. It didn't matter if it was because of corporate greed or if they genuinely cared. Either way, we just wanted to enjoy our childhood. So we should let the next generation of kids enjoy their childhood, even if we think they have poor taste. Again I'm not protecting or trying to make an excuse for this reboot cuz I dislike it just as much as everyone else, but I prefer to keep an open mind about things and be a _reasonable_ fan during bad times for a fandom like this one. And in time, who knows. By 2040 we'll all look back at 'all engines go' and think _(hey, this wasn't so bad after all, it's WAY better than that new Thomas hentai anime they're making)._ Sorry for the lengthy comment, just wanted to share my thoughts. You know i have one good thing and one thing to say. One i like the thomas wood now they have brought back your boi Edward with a better wheel arraignment and all the engines look good which may lead to good terms for Mattel only by 100 percent and the bas thing is that crappy reboot. Well, at least the latest direct conformed that Nintendo cares about the fans by giving them a new fire emblem warriors game, a new mario strikers, a lot of remastered games that were only in Japan and now soon be available to global and finally giving us a mainstream kirby game. Meanwhile on Sega, the only good things now are the hatsune miku games and the old sonic games as well as the original sonic colours and unleashed. So, in my opinion, Mattel=Sega makes everything worse, Brenner sega=Nintendo redeeming themselves at difficult times.
