I’m a pediatric brain cancer survivor. My doctors were amazing despite several complications with my treatment. I get kinda annoyed when people theorize that we should have or could have or even that we have found a cure and companies are withholding their information for profit. Now, i definitely don’t think much of the American pharmaceutical industry but i do believe that they are working to the best of their abilities to cure it. It’s not their fault that these microscopic cells have brains bigger than our own

Shot answer, it's because cancer isn't a disease cause by bacteria and virus but, a group of mutated cells hurting the body ,it can happen literally anytime but certain things increase the chances, thank you Dr itoya for your advice on what to be doing to prevent cancer and most importantly, the herbal medications you send to me to put a stop to the one I have already. Interesting. I assumed it was the same reason we haven't 'cured' any disease - because there's far more money to be made from treating symptoms.

Who makes that money though? and if that's truly the case why did the world spend millions on creating a covid vaccine instead of just Treating it?

@@reposter6434 Pharmaceutical companies created said vaccines (in a fashion highly streamlined and subsidized by Government) and are now profiting in the order of billions of dollars at the taxpayer's expense. Plenty of affordable, non-patented drug and nutritional-based interventions have been purported to mitigate the risk of death from covid, but supporting such things would be a bad business strategy for our for-profit medical industry.

@@reposter6434 On second thought, I misread your reply. The difference between cancer and covid is that the latter is an acute condition for which the cause is obvious. In my opinion she follows an old school thought on how to carry cancer research, she's researching cancer as if it was the disease itself, when in reality, cancer and other degenerative diseases are just symptoms of aging, cell division and senescence. As we age our cells lose genetic material as it goes through cellular division, increasing the chances of a cell mutating just enough times for it to turn into cancerous cells. Cancer treatments should rely less on external technologies and more on internal or genetic modifications, by either activating certain genes in our cells to release a complex sugar called, hyaluronan, as it happens with mole rats, or target aging itself by studying the role of NAD+, thymus regeneration, including the hallmarks of aging. Another alternative is researching senolytic drugs, they eliminate senescent cells, assisting with the prevention of cancer and of other age related diseases.

*What drives cancer's ability to thwart nearly every therapy?* It is clear enough that the conventional approach to cancer: surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation the “slash and burn” strategy not working (Raza, 2019). We are currently confronted with the tremendous power of cancer cells to out-evolve radiation and chemotherapy (Heng, 2019; Heng et al., 2011). Late-stage cancers remain elusive to the world's top laboratories, despite the many purported advances in the field. Even though we have spent a total of $250 billion on cancer research, the percentage of unsolved Stage 4 cases has decreased little since 1930 (Raza, 2019). What causes such lack of progress? A major cause, is that chemicals are only the physical layer of the cognitive, information-based system that is cancer. The cognition-first model suggests that the signature moment in cancer development is when cells start making evolutionary decisions of their own volition, instead of ‘following the algorithm’ based on their cell type and role. Many, perhaps all kinds of cells appear capable of autonomous behavior in certain situations (Levin, 2020a). The identity of cancer cells (Moore et al., 2017) switches from regular Turing machine [mobile, laptop computer....] to volitional Turing machine, where the term “volitional” indicates it is an agent which can choose rather than just obeying its program. Parts of a larger organism defect and start optimizing for their own immor-tality. A Turing machine with agency is no longer a Turing machine;it is something new. Cancer informatics is a decryption problem far more ambitious than Alan Turing's cracking of the German code in World War II. It is an interdisciplinary project that calls for the f i nest minds in the world in cryptography, oncology, evolutionary biology, semiotics and engineering … and perhaps music and psychology as well. The endless novelty of cancer is not algorithmic, it's volitional. What if we tried to solve cancer at the level of cognition, and not at the level of chemicals? Cancer is a struggle of information and intent (Levin, 2020b). If the cognition model is correct, then cancer is not strictly a genetic disease as is normally assumed. It would suggest genetics is merely a trailing indicator of the agency of cancerous cells. Preventing or arresting cancer may be a matter of persuading cancer cells to pursue different goals. Similar implications may apply to the antibiotic arms race and infectious diseases. If this is true, chemo-therapy alone can never provide a complete solution.

The real reason is that this is something that requires we develop a different way of looking at the problem. Everyone talks about automated systems except with regards to medicine. If you have any knowledge of Finance and how banks predict markets to reduce risk and figure out their reserves then the answer becomes a bit clearer. I am in bioinformatics but this is not something biologists really think about (okay maybe in system biology). The answer is that instead of this end of the process, last minute approach that is used we have to concentrate on the process in cancer or alzheimers and look at it as another time series which we need to predict for each individual patient. To do that requires constantly updated data (ie in a wristwatch, no we dont have that for the genome/epigenome yet but thats because we still rely on chemical means to get a complete genome.. thats another talk) careful selection of which people ie those with first degree relatives one who has cancer and the other who doesnt and a control) among other things. That is we need a predictive framework for medicine which we dont have. At first this whole system will rely on people not only to collect data but to make the changes that are needed over time to do this until the system becomes less human dependent (as all automated systems are: because machines dont learn but people do, ask me about what this means). I know this comment probably wont be understood but the head scientist at Pfizer I talked to did want to develop something like this for prostate cancer. However doing this is complicated and expensive and requires people that drug companies dont use ie Quants to work with biologists.. And yes we can develop small factories of cells to make these changes as Dr. Venter has already created a prototype for this in his completely human made bacteria. I could explain this more but I did quite a few years ago in a paper I wrote which is on research gate. There is a lot going on as historical context for this but that requires you know how to ask the right questions about things like Safegene. The problem with discussing this on youtube is that this is not really a place for scientific discussion so I will probably not post here again.

This presentation is a great example on how the academia is where stupidity is shelled from scrutiny a subject matter peculiarities. If somebody with more then a high school AP is watching this do yourself a favor - study up on Norwegian Lichen biology ( on the biochem level ) then go back and pick a few random papers on cancer, your escort will thank you for the Nobel prize money, just don’t forget to get contacts. By the way my personal favorite of this presentation is that something that never leaves it’s host somehow gets to “slowly evolve” - I had no idea that cancer cells get to divide like 300 trillion times a second- but what do I know …

Medical professionals have failed to understand and explain to the general public and cancer patients that overbreathing (or hyperventilation) reduces one’s body oxygen level due to 3 fundamental laws of respiratory physiology: 1. When we hyperventilate (breathe more than the medical norm), we cannot improve oxygen content in the hemoglobin of the arterial blood (red blood cells are about 98% saturated with oxygen during tiny normal breathing). 2. Overbreathing reduces the CO2 concentration in the arterial blood causing a constriction of arteries and arterioles since CO2 is a powerful vasodilator. Hence, hyperventilation results in reduced perfusion and oxygen supply (confirmed by tens of published medical studies) for the liver, brain, heart, kidneys, stomach, colon, and other vital organs. 3. The reduced CO2 value in the tissues produces a shift in the O2 dissociation curve to the left. This leads to the so-called shallow or suppressed Bohr effect (a reduced O2 release by red blood cells in the capillaries). Therefore, the more a cancer patient breathes beyond the norm, the less oxygen is provided for the heart, brain, kidneys, liver, and other vital organs. Reduced cellular oxygenation leads to anaerobic mitochondrial metabolism, elevated lactic acid values, the formation of free radicals, and cell acidosis or a lowered pH in cells. On the contrary, CO2 is a chemical that is needed for tumor treatment, as numerous studies on carbogen use in cancer indications. Since the growth of tumors depends on one’s body oxygen level, chronic hyperventilation promotes the growth of malignant cells and metastasis. Therefore, breathing normalization and the correction of risk lifestyle factors must be a central part of any successful anti-cancer program or cancer cure. References: Baddeley H1, Brodrick PM, Taylor NJ, Abdelatti MO, Jordan LC, Vasudevan AS, Phillips H, Saunders MI, Hoskin PJ, Gas exchange parameters in radiotherapy patients during breathing of 2%, 3.5% and 5% carbogen gas mixtures, , Br J Radiol. 2000 Oct;73(874):1100-4. Why?.....Because it's big business . All the Grants... money would go out the Window if there was a simple cure.....that was inexpensive.
