As someone who grew up going to Hershey Park (and now live less than 10 minutes away), I remember it was always considered significantly inferior to parks like Cedar Point and Busch Gardens. They have done a great job upgrading it to the point where people now put it in the same sentence with Cedar Point. Went there yesterday and rode Wildcat's Revenge, Candymonium, Storm Runner, and Lightning Racer. Had an absolute blast! I 100% agree with you on Skyrush. Completely over-rated. I too always wonder why people rated Wildcat so low because it was shaky and those same people can rate Skyrush high. I was surprised I didn't need to go see a chiropractor for spinal realignment after I rode Skyrush.

For me personally, Skyrush is unbeatable when running well. Where else can you find the experience of your torso being ripped from your legs? Maybe Abu Dhabi, that's it.

Didn’t get on Skyrush when I visited Hersheypark in 2021 but I completely agree with just about everything. The only thing I remember about Fahrenheit was the rattle I had in the back row, Great Bear is my lowest ranked invert behind Banshee, Raptor, Montu, Talon, Afterburn and a few Batman clones… Candymonium is my number 1 at HP but it’s a run-of-the-mill hyper to me… if it was at CP it would be number 5 at the park imo behind SV, Maverick, MF, and Magnum…. But it’s refreshing to finally see some truth about HP’s lineup…

I haven't been to Hersheypark but the lineup did always strike me as seeming pretty overrated. Like there's a lot of solid to okay coasters, but nothing truly spectacular and a lot of filler. Thanks for putting these thoughts out there because I sort of thought I was crazy or something. Still seems like a great park that I would love to get to one day, but I don't expect it to be up there with Cedar Point.

I just think there coaster lineup lacks variety. Cedar point has such a good variety they have a rmc, giga, hyper, invert, wing, dive, strata, multi launch and far more also majority of cedar points coasters are very good too they have quality and quantity

I would mostly agree. They hit a few good strides but they lack some rides that I think make a complete ride lineup. However, Wildcat’s Revenge will help with that.

I don't think Hershey Park is at the level of Cedar Point and Six Flags Magic Mountain even after Wildcat's Revenge open's. With that said, I do thing that after that ride open's they are in the discussion for the #3 spot: Hershey would two Top 25 Coasters in the US with SkyRush (Polarizing coaster which you don't hold in the same regard as others) and Wildcat's Revenge (I'm thinking this will be a Twisted Colossus level RMC), they would have possibly 2 other roller coasters in the Top 50 with Candymonium (I have it as a top 3 B&M Hyper in the US- I have #2 right in front of Goliath but well back from Mako), Storm Runner (Admittingly I haven't rode it yet but I think it should sneak into the Top 50. After that Great Bear is a boarderline Top 100 coaster. Fahrenheit and Lightning Racer are a little behind Great bear. I thought Fahrenheit was the one coaster I found overrated in the park. It was not a smooth ride. Not the biggest fan of it to the level of others, but hey I like Candymonium more than others so I feel it evens out. Comet is after that is a fine coaster for what it is. After that maybe Superdooperlooper is a coaster you would want to ride each visit. I think it drops off after that. Maybe Jolly Rancher Remix gives a better experience but at the end of the day it is a Boomerang. Comparing that line-up I would take it in a heartbeat over Kings Island. Kings Island doesn't have a coaster in my Top 25. Mystic is in my 30's and is clearly the best ride at KI. Orion and Diamondback each are in my 40's. Banshee is barely a Top 100 ride and I prefer Great Bear to it. So Hershey will have more quality up top. Beast is at the level of Lightning Racer and Bat is at the level of Comet. Racer just a touch behind is a coaster to ride each time you go to KI. Backlot is ok. I'm not a Flight of Fear, Invertigo, or Adventure Express fan, so Hershey is an easy winner over KI Comparing that line-up to SF Great Adventure- El Toro is clearly better than anything at Hershey. For me Kingda Ka, Jersey Devil are boarderline Top 50. I find Nitro to be very overated but it is easily a Top 100 coaster. Batman and Superman are probably better than Lightning Racer and Fahrenheit as a whole. Joker, Bizarro (Which I'm not really a fan of), and Green Lantern are each ridable during a visit. This line-up is comparable to Hershey's. Kind of depends on your preference. Comparing the line-up to Six Flags Great America. SF Great America is like Kings Island where it doesn't have a stand out roller coaster, but I find their line-up to be one of the deepest in the country. If they had a standout ride I could easily make a case for #3. I think Goliath is easily in the Top 50. Maxx Force, Raging Bull, and even Viper are all Top 100 rides. Viper is kind of boarderline. The next tier they have a ton of coasters- Batman, American Eagle (I'm a fan of it), X-Flight (Restraints don't bother me), Superman. Add in V2, Whizzer, and Joker this is a deep line-up. I think if you prefer Top coaster you would take Hershey's but if you want a 12 coaster line-up you may prefer Great America. If they get a standout I could see them as #3. Comparing to Busch Gardens Tampa. They clearly have the standout in Iron Gwazi. I think Montu is easily in the Top 50, and Kumba is boarderline Top 50. The line-up is top heavy for sure. I have Sheikra outside the Top 100. Cheetah Hunt (I'm not the biggest fan of the restraints), Cobra's Curse, and even Tigris are great supporting coasters. They really don't have any bad coasters. I just wish they had another coaster or two. Again it kind of depends what you want. I think if Busch gardens Williamsburg got a RMC similar to Iron Gwazi, they would take the #3 spot. That RMC, Pantheon, Alpengeist, Apollo's, Griffon, Verbolten, InVadR, Tempesto, Lochness would be a better line-up than Tampa for sure. After Widcat is finished I would go: 1. Cedar Point 2. SFMM 3. Hershey Park 4. BG Tampa 5. SF Great America 6. SF Great Adv But at the time of your video I would go: 1. Cedar Point 2 SFMM 3 BG Tampa 4 SF Great America 5. Hershey Park 6. SF Great Adv

Hersheypark is one of the last major parks in the country that I have not visited yet, but I think you have made some very valid points here. I can’t see Hershey’s lineup really stacking up against kings island for sure let alone Magic Mountain or Cedar point. I think it’s probably going to be a great park for me, but I am going to not enjoy subpar operations for sure. I’m really excited for sky, rush and storm runner. Mostly, I guess wild cats revenge at this point is probably less enticing than it would have been a few years ago since so many RMC hybrids have already been made. I look forward to seeing more of these videos.

You'll love it, SkyRush is an ULTA ELITE Coaster He don't like it that's fine but dont let that effect you, Storm Runner is another Elite Coaster the launch, that snake dive element are incredible and the rest of the rides are very good too the food is wonderful the theming and atmosphere are special definitely a very fun, special park....Make reservations for the Chocolate Town restaurant in advance 💯 I went in June 2022 so your lucky and you'll get RMC Wildcat which is going to be amazing so have fun....Happy Holidays 🎄

If you go to Hershey you 100% need fast pass. If you offered me free tickets to park and no fast pass I wouldn't go. That's how bad operations and crowds are there. On other note, its a large park, very clean, and pretty. Skyrush is breath taking!!

I visited Cedar Point and Hersheypark on back to back days and Cedar Point is the better park. I noticed that Hersheypark’s coasters are very good imo but lack the ride duration. Many of Hershey’s rides are very short so I feel like they just won’t compare as much to the longer rides that can pack in more elements. I still think Hershey’s top 5 is very good, despite the short duration. Especially with an RMC on the way, I don’t think the coasters are overrated, I think that they are close to properly rated. But that’s just me.

1. I agree Wildcats Revenge is a bit overhyped I think Aireforce One looks better 2. IDK how Skyrush is boring when it has some of the best airtime on any coaster. Only Magnum comes close to the intensity, I think Skyrush has to pull close to -2gs on those hills 3. I agree on Great Bear, Fahrenheit, and Storm Runner. They are fun but nothing amazing. Before they changed the restraints I used to hate Fahrenheit because it was a headbanger 4. Wildcat was not good. Granted it didn't deserve all the hate it gets (especially after it got Millennium Flyers) but it was not a good coaster either. Its my second least favorite GCI after Roar at SFA 5. Overall though I do agree the line up is overrated and definitely doesn't beat SFMM or CP

Skyrushs original restraints felt fine to me but the new ones suck also it’s only got a few short pops of ejector airtime with lots of filler on what was already a short ride, Great Bear has some good elements in the first half then a long stretch of filler before it does something again Storm Runner has an amazing launch and the flying snake dive is strong but is 90% filler Fahrenheit I’m with you, it’s not a bad ride but it’s forgettable I’ve never had a rough ride on Wildcat but I’ve also never had an amazing ride on it either. Lightning Racer with a full train on a hot summer day hits pretty hard but it runs slow in anything other than that resulting in an inconsistent ride Super Dooper Looper feels like a great mine train that just happens to have an inversion Comet blew me away on my first ride, I expected nothing it’s not exactly powerful but lots of floater airtime Wild Mouse looks poorly maintained I’ve been in car crashes I felt safer in. Trailblazer is entirely forceless and I’m pretty sure I could run the track faster and enjoy it more. Jolly Rancher Remix is a good ride, smooth and intense

Agree 100.. Candymonium is a mid tier b&m hyper. Skyrush is massively overrated. The restraints aren't that bad the layout is just pretty boring.. The 2 red Intamins are good but feel like theyre too short and missing something.. Great Bear is quality but at the end of the day its just an invert... To me the highlight is Comet. Smooth good pops of airtime. Great ride massively underrated... Overall its a park full of good, diverse, yet just good rides. Theres no showstopper.

skyrush is absolutely a showstopper if you’re on it’s good side. i feel like their filler coaster would be elite at other places. most parks have a few b&m loopers to support the lineup while hershey literally has storm runner at number 4 in the park

Hot take, but Stormrunner is a world class rollercoaster. It is an absolute crapton of fun, and out of 67 credits (81 if you count family coasters I skipped) it is my number 5. The flying snake dive is my single favorite coaster element, and Hydraulic launches are amazing. It also has some great airtime moments. I 100% agree with you on Skyrush. Twisted Colossus and Twisted Timbers have FAR better layouts.

Let’s be real: If you thought as highly of skyrush as me and other thussies do it would jump up your rankings. Storm Runner I haven’t been on because it was closed but from what I’ve heard it’s amazing. Fahrenheit is really good but if it had better capacity I would have ridden it more and gotten a better feeling but I will say that might have been one of the more forgettable rides. But for me it’s probably 4th in the park if I got on storm runner. GB is good I loved it when I got off but I set it way back once I rode skyrush and realized what good elements where. Nothing really else to say but I think if you did like skyrush it would fly up your rankings because then you realize how much quality and quantity it has. Honestly you probably got bad days on skyrush and maybe bad ops that really stabled you which sucks. The opposite probably happened with wildcat. No hate and I feel bad for adding to the 3 paragraph essays that are already in this comment section.

Simply put, people’s opinion of HP rests solely on their opinion of Skyrush. For me it’s the best place on earth as Skyrush still sits as my number one overall. I will book a hotel and drive the 5 hours there over the 2 hours to CP any day. Now there’s a controversial opinion for you. 😂

Dude - I find this video spot on! The only thing I didn't agree with was your comparison of SuperDooperLooper to New Revolution. SDL is a turd and NR is a must ride lol. I also think the placement of the Wild Mouse on the edge of a hill made the ride quite frightening lol. Possibly the most memorable ride in the park. Storm Runner is the ride I'd most like to ride again - wish it was longer. Fearinheight was overshadowed by the horrendous operations - no ride is worth repeating that kind of wait so I'd only hit again with a fast pass or on a slow day.

I generally agree with this sentiment. I've heard alot of people talk about how great HP, and definitely makes me want to revisit. I still had a great time, but I went in 2020, so the park was not running at full potential during my visit. Storm Runner and SooperDooperLooper were closed, the pathway that goes under skyrush was closed, I also missed the King sized milkshakes, so that was a shame. However, a lot of people have started saying that HPs lineup in particular is extremely underrated and some even say it's better than CPs. I definitely disagree with this as STEVE is my number 1 right now, and TTD, Maverick, and Millie rank higher than every HP coaster besides Skyrush. Also, the irony of about half the coaster community saying HPs lineup is underrated will always amuse me. I do think Candymonium is actually somewhat underrated as I thought the first half was filled with great floater moments. The main problem I had with it was that it had a very noticable rattle for only being a couple months at the time. I also, disagree with the Skurush part. It's my number two, because every element felt like it was trying to kill me. It's the most extreme coaster I've ridden, and it has the strongest airtime I've experienced. That's coming from someone who rides I305 and Twisted Timbers all the time.

I think a lot of a person's opinion on Hersheypark depends on where they fall on the love/ hate dichotomy on Skyrush. There is very little in between. I love it but really after that a lot of the rides there aren't as good as other parks. Candymonium is the worst B&M hyper I've ridden, hands down. SooperDooperLooper is basically Revolution at Magic Mountain (meandering to the loop and that's it), Laff Track is a clone of Steel Dragon at Waldameer, which is a park that doesn't get nearly half the crowds Hersheypark does. Of the rides I've been on Lightning Racer might be my second favorite.

I agree with this video. I've been on 327 coasters and Hershey is definitely not my favorite park in terms of coasters. They definitely have variety, but my main critiques are: 1) Ride Capacity - With the exception of the B&Ms and LR, none of their coasters have the capacity to handle the crowds that the park gets. I'm honestly not sure why they thought three (3) car trains on Fahrenheit makes any sense, with Storm Runner not much better. 2) Ride Length - Most of their coasters are exceptionally short compared to the coasters at other major parks 3) No 'Best in Class' attractions - Outside of SkyRush (which is a polarizing coaster), they do not have any coasters that anywhere near best in class for their type. Compared to BGT which arguably has some of the top B&M loopers in the world.

For me it would go 1 Skyrush 2 Storm Runner 3 Candymonium 4 Fahrenheit 5 Don't care As for inverts, I love Montu (and Afterburn which is Montu without the fat) but my favorite invert is Alpengeist. I've been on all the inverts in the US and Canada but haven't been to Europe. I don't think any invert there would overtake Alpengeist but you never know.

Definitely getting some mixed messages from this video. By how you talked about your top ranked coasters and then the supporting rides, I would have guessed Wildcat was your favorite in the park! When you said the video would start off on a positive note, I would argue it was one of the more negative areas. I respect your opinions, though. I agree some rides are a tad overhyped and I absolutely agree with the family coasters. I just think if this video had more structure, it would be even better. Ranting off the cuff is fun, but you sometimes didn’t give reasons for your opinions which probably sent the mixed messages. You said Candymonium is your number one in the park, but then you said, “Yeah it’s my number one, which isn’t really a good start”. You went on to say it almost touched your top 25 out of 300 or so. Theoretically only 8% of the coasters you’ve ridden are better than it. I’d say that’s a good look! To be fair, you mentioned the pros and cons of Storm Runner and Fahrenheit. Good rides, but forgettable which I can understand. Skyrush and Great Bear are interesting because you seemed particularly negative about them, but went on to state how much you love Wildcat and Lightning Racer. I get it, you have two overrated steel coasters and two underrated woodies, and you stood your ground on both fronts. But what about Great Bear and Skyrush are better than the woodies? That section of video feels lopsided to me. Overall, enjoyable video. And maybe this analysis was too in-depth for a video that was meant to be for fun. This format has potential on your channel.

Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it. In terms of the balance of criticisms at the Skyrush part, the fact that some are overrated and some are underrated is the main reason why I was nice to some and harsh on others. I also wanted to counter some of my more critical aspects. I love the first drop and airtime of Skyrush and the first half and terrain of Great Bear. For Candymonium, it’s a wonderful ride and a fine top coaster, but some say the best ride at Hershey is in their top 1% of coasters, and there are probably 12 or so parks with better top rides. That’s where I was more comparing Hershey to others rather than judging Candymonium on its own merits. I’ll keep this feedback in mind in my next rant.

I would say facts if Skyrush wasn’t in my top 5 of 250 coasters whoops. But yeah Fahrenheit is overrated, great Bear is super fun, storm runner has got nothing on the strata’s and candymonium is a middle tier hyper. Not to mention lightning racer and comet are very mediocre for wood coaster standards

A few comments: I feel like the Flying Snake dive combined with the launch is way better than the Pretzel Loop on Superman. If you wanted to compare it to the Pretzel Loop in Tatsu- different story. I fly like the restraints on SkyRush make a big difference on how people view that ride. I think the layout is much better than you. Great Bear is worlds better than Patriot (WOF) and Silver Bullet (Knotts). I have it better than Banshee because of the jack hammering on Banshee. Banshee has the better lay-out but something can be said about the setting for Great Bear. I would have it about 40-50 spots below Montu. Wildcat is pure garbage. Lightning Racer is a fun coaster. Can't see it as a Top 10 woodie but it is a fun experience for sure. Your comments on Comet are pretty spot on. As are your comments about the family coasters. Sooper Dooper Looper is the one that is a good coaster for what it is. Laff Traak isn't good, the Wild Mouse is one of the worst I've been on, the mine train wasn't good. But when I visit a park I don't normally do on filler coasters once I have the credit.

I’m glad that someone else agrees that Fahrenheit isn’t underrated. It’s a fun and good coaster, but it ain’t anything special like some people make it out to be. It’s #5 in the park for me.

I agree that they do not have any truly amazing standout coasters. Some would consider Skyrush one but it is polarizing and the restraints ruin the ride for some. I still consider it a great park just because of the quantity of good rollercoasters, but I can see why you would not put it over something like BGT with a true standout coaster in Iron Gwazi. I hope Wildcats Revenge can be that standout coaster they need, and we will just have to see, but judging its stats, I don't see if it could be better than SteVe or Gwazi.

the supporting cast of coasters at hersheypark is interesting because they’re intamins, not a bunch of those b&m loopers. so there’s some cool stuff like a hydraulic launch coaster and an intamin euro fighter type thing with good forces. i feel like they aren’t average coasters, because they’re better than what would be comcidered average (like a b&m looper) but i totally see why they aren’t exactly standout coasters. but skyrush, i still think can be considered standout, just to a certain audience don’t get me wrong, i understand how a coaster with a reputation like skyrush might be weird to call a “universal standout beloved ride” but a standout coaster can be polarizing. the people that like skyrush LOVE that thing. more people seem to love skyrush than not love it. i mean this genuinely and not in a mean way, but i think just because you didn’t enjoy it as much as you did, that doesn’t mean it’s not elite. everybody’s experiences are different. it’s probably just overrated to you. i’ve ridden it with so many people that love that ride to death. i would definitely consider skyrush a standout coaster. but it’s all subjective so whatever

Hershey is a weird park. I love it, but it’s definitely not in the elite range of parks. It’s got great coasters, but not a standout (No, Skyrush lovers, a short hyper with nothing outstanding and terrible restraints doesn’t count). I think Hersheypark would be far more loved if people didn’t hype it as the best in the country.

I basically agree with what this video says. I think Hershey is the 2nd most overrated park behind Kings Island. Sky rush I honestly hate it felt like my neck was being ripped off lol. Candymounium is a average b&m hyper I got not much airtime out of it. Fahrenheit and Storm runner just kinda exist idrk what to say about them. But overall I think HP is definitely overrated in case you couldn’t tell by what I just said. So yeah I’d like to see more of these vids I’d would LOVE one on Kings island but that’s obvious not gonna happen. Anyways idk how to end this comment so yeah.

The Kings Island video would be too easy to make: Throwing out Mystic which I think is the 2nd or 3rd best GCI. Orion- Weakest B&M Giga by far Diamondback- Great layout. Bad rattle. I think it the rattle knocks it down to an average B&M Hyper (#4 of the 8 in the US) Banshee- Jack hammers all over the place. Again great layout. Not a great ride experience. Average at best Beast- One of the most overrated coasters for those trying to claim it should be Top 50 or something. Best night ride is Mystic. Bat- Very good for what it is. I can't say anything negative about it. Racer- Was rougher. They are trying to improve it. Not elite or anything. But other wooden racing coasters are far superior. Backlot Stunt Coaster- Decent Family coaster. Can't really knock it Flight of Fear- Rough Adventure Express- Overrated but fine for what it is I guess Invertigo- Not a good coaster. Too rough. I think the days are numbered for this coaster Flying Ace- Pure garbage. Head banger. If they modify it with lap bars then it would be fine. Woodstock Express- Fine for what it is.

Hmm, I do feel like the ops were still good this year. The crowds weren’t really an issue until Dark Nights, when they skyrocketed out of control. On the day I went (on a Thursday in the summer) the only line greater than 30 minutes was Great Bear at around 45 minutes. I can definitely understand your take on Fahrenheit, but I do feel Storm Runner and Skyrush are better than all that CP has to offer, except for Maverick. And RMC Wildcat seems to have a far better variety of forces than 90% of existing RMC’s, which is probably why people are hyping it up so much, even if it won’t be better than Arieforce One. Lastly, I certainly wish I could enjoy Wildcat and Lightning Racer as much as you did. I think many tolerate Lightning Racer pretty well, but I’m not one of them. Nice video
