Awesome video. I only listened to the second half because I haven’t finished Forbidden West yet and wanted to avoid spoilers (yes, even just the wow factor of seeing the buildings can be spoilers, lol), but I liked how you covered a variety of topics

Pretty bad footage used for the video. Sad. Pixelated and frame pacing all over the place. What happened when encoding the video?

Horizon is very cool, but I think the complexity of every creature is a bad thing for their game: from their document video, it takes 3 months to finish a creature in HZD (presumably) HFW takes less time for this), this makes the variety of the enemy fells short. I was so amazed by Fromsoft (big team) and Hollow Knight (small team) by their number of enemies, I wish Guerrilla can scale back some of the enemy designs to trade-off for the number of different small enemies. The marketing of both HZD and HFW doesn't help as well, they show almost everything, It would be much more special if I can experience the new machine myself, instead of getting spoiled in trailers, and then the game has not much more to offer. Also within the campaign, you would likely have to encounter all of them as well, optional bosses/creatures are key to making wonder in the world, and I didn't feel this in both HZD and HFW.

All the games you've described are trying to archive different things you can't expect them to do things similar. Horizon is a story driven Open World game designed to immerse the player in a direct narrative. Hollow Knight is a 2D game also story driven but it's linear so has low complexity. Elden Ring is an exploration beat em up open world game so yeah Enemies are the important things that matter. If Horizon had many enemies it would make following the story really hard because you are supposed to be getting answers about the world not fighting enemies. They are there as obstacles to delay you from your objective while in Elden Ring they are the objective.

Sad that the gameplay of those games is just a Copy/paste of the Assassin's Creed formula with tons of icons, Ui onformation and stuff. World seemed cool, and interesting, tech behind it is massive, but damn game design and core gameplay is.. merely meh at best. Doesn't make the art justice.

@@introduction1266 Good for you mate. I find it a repetitive chore to be honest, like almost any AAA nowadays that does the same cycle of quest/repetitive tasks/gatherings shit ton of useless junk/crafting for the sake of having it in the game and a story merely better than the Simpsons. Enjoy your game.

@@introduction1266 In RPGs, all that are not open Worlds but story driven corridor like, like Deus Exes, Uncharted, A Plague Tale, Some of the Arkham Batman series, KOTOR, Divinity Original Sin I/2/ Baldur's Gate, the Witcher series (even if i preferred the 1 and 2 to the 3rd.. cause open world is.. i just can't but the 3rd is a gem though thanks to the stories and general mood) etc.. Don't get me wrong, those open World can be fun at times (especially Witcher), but i find the grind and the hard gate of the zoning very tedious, where you need to do this this and that before being able to go through a mountain pass or taking this dirt road to the next region. This is why i don't mind it in story driven single player RPGs. Otherwise i play strategy games, nothing much here either, very repetitive stuff. I waste little time on video games nowadays anyways :). Have fun man.

@@a.d2868 sounds like you don't like open worlds my guy and that's fine but objectively horizon forbidden west is one of the best ones out there. trust me it's awesome and not grindy at all. it only zoning when it's important to the story my guy. this place is forbidden for a reason...you can't just walk across as there is something important you have to do first...just needs some patience. horizon is a story driven rpg. haven't found one thing repetitive yet...might i suggest pacing yourself instead of rushing to get to the next part of the map? thanks honestly having a blast. have very minor nitpicks

I played this game after the newer ACs and noticed some very broad similarities... and then realised Horizon Zero Dawn released BEFORE Assassin's Creed Origins (granted, it is the same year but HZD appeared half a year earlier), on a budget quite a bit smaller than the first Assassin's Creed.
