I am working right now in a fertilizer plant and in a single area there are two plants from different manufacturer are running. In plant 2 there are hundreds of LV and MV motors and all of them are running on star because there name plates says that they are design on (400volts & 6600volts) star connection, for delta connection in lv case the requirement is 250 volts three phase which is not in our standard.

HT motor connected in star, at full speed HT motor can not get full line voltage due to star connection. So efficiency decreased in HT motor. In star delta starter we shift to delta near 80% speed with help of timer. So isHT motor efficient ??
