this is getting older 😅 i only go to shows now every once in a while if it's an artist i'm DYING to see. I got crowd fatigue in the city and it was getting so expensive. This was such a refreshing, honest take Brian - thanks for always keeping it real! We're here for your growth 🙌🏼personally & professionally!

Man I'm on the same vibe with getting burned out. Shows just haven't been hitting for me and cutting out alcohol out of my life has really made it even easier to not feel like I'm missing out. I've begun to understand how much I've spent on shoes, drinks, and just dumb stuff from going out and festivals the last 6-8 years. I probably could've purchased a house by now at 27

Another thing that’s important to remember is that inflation been going crazy. Pre COVID festivals were much cheaper as was everything else. Glad ur making the right decisions tho, I’m about to be 27 and I’ve been in this state of mind for a while. Im focusing on getting a better paying job so I can do vip or RV at festivals now. Plus like you said, I’m tryna have things outside of edm!

Thank you for everything you do and show! I met you briefly at summoning and wish I could’ve said more to yah but didn’t want to take your time. I’m so appreciative of the honesty you have about the whole show scene and it’s been a massive help for me personally. Good luck and stay strong brother! Bro I remember when I was deep into edm shows, I never thought it would get old. I'm 28 now and it actually did. Haven't gone to a show in 2 or 3 years now and a festival sounds fun still but shows in NYC don't really as much. I also relate with the friends thing because it was more fun when all my friends were into it and we would make an adventure out of it but the more times I went solo just kind of bummed me out honestly and kindof lost the magic. Still listen to EDM religiously though

Thank you Brian for making this video. This year was my 5th Lost Lands and everything keeps getting more expensive. My group has kept getting bigger and bigger, which is awesome, but I've seen a lot of our group members get into debt multiple times just to make it to Lost Lands. I want to see everyone succeed and buy the things they want like a house/car/etc. Being in debt and especially credit card debt is the worst. I'll definitely be having a conversation with my group about being responsible and skipping Lost Lands this year if they realistically can't buy their ticket without their bank account going into the negative. I'm sure we'll still go to some local shows next year but life comes first and we should all be levelling up instead of thinking we will never reach that point in our lives. Until a couple years ago I was a broke college student and now I've grown into my career making great money. You gotta have that balance in life. Have fun and advance your career at the same time. Glad you're looking out for yourself, get those sponsorships!!

I'm 16 and I think it really makes sense what you say, since I dream about going to Lost Lands since I'm 12, and still, it's kind of expensive, when you add travel cost and stuff. So keep up the good content:3 Get your personal shit arranged first, otherwise you're going to be lost in the lands.

I did lost lands once in 2021 and I feel like i’m good tbh. I didn’t even really enjoy it as much as I thought I would. LET THE MADNESS BEGIN This video was so on point, and I think at a certain point in life we all have that kick in the ass that really makes us think what’s important, and what we need to do in order to be successful, survive, and really just thrive in all aspects of our own lives. I agree, I definitely do not want to “settle” for anything. I never have. I am excited to take on the world with you. I always say “the older you get” but it is so fkn true 😂 we’ve both learned so much and I am so glad we’re on the same page with so many things. This is not the end, just a new beginning 🖤🥰😘

I think over time a lot of people over time force themselves to go to every show because that's what they used to love to do but the relationship with shows changed and they continue to do it because they're scared of the new. At the end of the day it's more special going to shows that actually excite us, going to less shows doesn't mean you don't love it as much as you used to but that you love it in a different way and it feels better not sacrificing real life. It's gotta be harder because you have a brand and financial incentive on top of that. Glad you're willing to grow and pass down some wisdom to others in the scene.

“Let the madness begin!” Just wanted to say I appreciate you putting yourself out there and making this content. There definitely needs to be balance in life and it is so hard to see that when we are chasing that dopamine hit of another show. I can relate to what you are saying. I was living in a small town 3.5 hours from my nearest scene (buffalo) after falling back in love with the scene after Covid I made that drive way to often to go to shows. Last year I went to one fest and 22 shows. After seeing just how much it cost to make that 7 hour round trip happen both physically and mentally I knew we had to make a change. So me and my wife decided to move to the music so that the auxiliary expenses would be less (tolls, gas, car wear and tear, most food bills, depletion of energy from driving etc) and that has really helped. Still I managed to go a bit overboard this year 😅 this year has been 23 shows and 1 fest but it was camping so it was wayyy more expensive. I am no learning for me personally I can’t buy a fest ticket without having every dollar saved up for all the extra costs that come with it. After lost lands I left us with little money in our bank account. I “grounded” myself for a month and that was really helpful to center me and now it makes the shows I can go to more special. I went to one last week and got a paper ticket to save on fees, parked on a side street, and drank before. All in all cost me $33!! Will definitely be tackling shows with this attitude from now on! As much as I want to go home to lost lands next year I want to make sure we are set up for the future first
