Thankyou for this video. I believe God directed me here. I am a gamer, and I very often play games to try and calm the mind from the world around me, I live in Christ's words. I've always felt like gaming was a gift, not something evil, but pure if the intent is pure, and until today I didn't really know if other Christians liked to also play. So thankyou :)

If it's an outlet that is above reproach and you're not breaking God's laws (ultimately they're summed up in Matthew 22:37-40), then I imagine it's an avenue that can be used for evangelism be it social media or some other platform that reaches the masses. God wasn't for the Greeks or Romans and they're pagan worship beliefs... yet the Greeks standardized a language throughout their empire and the Romans built roads to various nations. And all of that was used to God's glory and delivering the gospel to the nations. Geek out and be a light 🎮💻

Similar to what happens with music, i listen almost all type of music and for example sometimes there are lyrics that just talk about sex, drugs and stuff but I like the song so I'm just conscious of what I'm hearing has nothing to do with reality. As a Christian I'm glad you bring this kind of topics, I'm Catholic and love to see this, think this is a very good way to show christianity to a young segment and the gamer community that is particularly atheist. I also want to add that I don't think there's anything bad in gaming as long as you have your thoughts and goals clear, I've played games a lot before and it's addicted and if you don't know how to control yourself and there's no one telling you about it you can easily forget about all the other things in life and sometimes those are very important, sometimes you just convince yourself that you are not doing anything bad but I think this is just to feel better with ourselves. In other words games = good but stay healthy in mind and body, and don't let games distract you from everything else in life like your goals for example. My english bad, sorry. 😐

Thanks for the comment! :D Music is a good example, too. I personally don't like listening to songs that have lyrics I don't like (regardless of the beat or melody), but that's probably because I pay a lot of attention to words in general, haha. And you're right: you can't let gaming distract you from real life and responsibilities! Unless you're a pro, of course, and then gaming IS your responsibility lol P.S. Your English is great!

I am also a Christian who plays games. I recently created and took up KZbin fulltime to make Christian gaming videos. I find the game space a great place in which I can share the gospel. I have preached the good news of Jesus to many through this way. Specifically in online games and through gaming discord communities. I've never come across your channel before but I'm glad this video popped up in my recommended. Its great to hear other Christians views on this matter.

Greetings, ma'am. I am also a Christian with a Code of Honor, specifically i am a non-denominational, but the 2 closest denominations i relate to is assembly of God and Baptist, also i have been diagnosed with high-functioning Autism. I completely agree with you in what you are saying, i have been playing video games since i was little and around my teenage years, my mom taught me a valuable lesson, do not only pat attention to the rating but also pay attention to the content, because something can be rated e but can possibly be unsafe for your spirit but ultimately it just depends on what game you are playing, but i think its ok to play video games due to some games being educational, like learning strategy or using critical thinking or like you said, it can just be simply for entertainment, but anyway, i like your video and one of my goals is to be a Christian KZbinr who plays video games and talk about Jesus Christ to those who want to talk about him. You are an inspiration and you set a good example for others! I wish you peace and blessings in your life and future! :D

This woman gets it. I'm also a christian and I like to play games. I'm a husband, a father, I have church responsibilities, work responsibilities. I have always played games and I also find that in christian circles a lot of folks look at gaming with disdain. I have come to the point that I don't share with people anymore my hobbies. People seem to have an opinion about everything and if you let yourself be influenced by the opinions of others you end up miserable. I respect other's preferences as long as that brother in Christ is not engaging in sin. I don't play online multiplayer games, I only play single player story driven games. I don't hunt, fish, hiking, sports(anymore)but I have friends that do and I rejoice with them and for them. I play games just for fun and it's my favorite hobby.

Video games aren't inherently sinful, So This is the best verse to go off of. 1 Corinthians 6:12 AMPC: Everything is permissible (allowable and lawful) for me; but not all things are helpful (good for me to do, expedient and profitable when considered with other things). Everything is lawful for me, but I will not become the slave of anything or be brought under its power. So everything is lawful but not everything is beneficial. And use conviction from the Holy Spirit🙂

Hey Zoya, I'm study in seminary now and will become a pastor. This is very interesting because it is very relevant to the lives of young people. On the other hand, before I entered the seminary I was also a league of legends player, I even made a team and sent them to competitive events in Indonesia (you can searc PWN /U8 league of legends team from Indonesia even it's just a small team long time ago hehe). Even now, I still play Wild Rift even though it's only once a day. Hiya! Practicing Catholic and lifetime gamer since my dad played Rampage with me on his lap. I’ve played mostly adventure games in my childhood, learning English and problem solving and enjoying well written stories because of these games. I’m very grateful to Sierra and LucasArts. Since then, I’ve enjoyed all sorts of games, but I still gravitate towards single player titles. Overwatch and Starcraft 2 are multiplayer and esports titles I follow - I love the communities of those games. Considering faith - check out Father Roderick: he’s a really cool guy heavily into popular culture and gaming. You’re not alone! Gaming is a hobby like any other, in healthy measure it’s a great way to entertain yourself, learn new things and connect with others! Totally agree with your thoughts!

*1 Corinthians 6:9-11* *New Living Translation* 9 Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, 10 or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people-none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. 11 Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

What's this entire verse have to do with gaming? The only thing that would stand out would be idolatry. But that goes with anything in life. Video games aren't inherently sinful, So This is the best verse to go off of. Let me give you a verse from 1 Corinthians as well, 6:12 AMPC: Everything is permissible (allowable and lawful) for me; but not all things are helpful (good for me to do, expedient and profitable when considered with other things). I used to be Catholic, but I realized being part of a religion does nothing for me. I realized that a lot of “religious” people that I knew in schools, church, etc. Were not really good people, as they always criticized other people based on stereotypes. We can all agree that it’s stupid to classify games as violence just because there are some violent games. That would be like saying people are violent just because a few people were violent. But yeah I’ve faced a lot of stereotypical judgements because I played football, video games, listened to certain types of music, did well on school, anything that I did was “bad” for me since people always criticized me based on stereotypes. I’m glad that you do this content and do what you like, that’s basically doing things that you like and enjoying life. I hate it when something else, call it religion or something else, tries to humane you not enjoy life just because they think that you shouldn’t. That’s just my experience and my opinion, but I’ve heard more people have had the same kind of problems
@ZoyatheRussianKorean
@ZoyatheRussianKorean 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Pac, thanks for sharing about your experience! Yeah, unfortunately it's a common experience for many people, I'm sorry you had to go through it. I guess all I have to say is this: although yes, the Bible holds us to a higher standard of love and compassion for others, it also clearly shows that we humans aren't perfect, and that Christians aren't "superhumans" and fail many times, too. That's why, as a Christian, I rely on the grace of God to forgive me and change me. One theologian said it very well: many people think of church as a museum, a place where only the best and the perfect can be; but in reality, church is actually a hospital for the sick, broken, and needy. When we forget about that, that's when things can go wrong. But yeah, I'm also a broken, sick, needy person, so that's why I believe in Jesus (because as far as I can see, only he can heal me). :)
@Pac0110
@Pac0110 3 жыл бұрын
Zoya the Russian Korean yeah, some people just go by what the stereotypes say and assume they’re always correct. Thanks, I’ve learned not to pay attention to those kind of people. And you’re right, nobody it’s a “superhuman” we all can do bad things and good things, that’s being a human. I’m glad that you know our condition as humans and try to improve, to the best you can do and always trying to improve. I like your gameplays because we’re similar in that we don’t like to flame or put guilt into teammates or potentially make someone feel down just to do it. I’m happy that religion worked for you, I think that’s what a religion should be, an excuse to be better and improve. Keep up with the amazing content ☺️
@ZoyatheRussianKorean
@ZoyatheRussianKorean 3 жыл бұрын
@@Pac0110 Yeah, I don't see the point in blaming teammates when it's probably just one game and then you're moving on. Maybe flaming is how some people relieve stress, but to me it just doesn't seem healthy. And thanks! I personally don't like to call it "religion" because it's often associated with rules and regulations, but for me, it's more about my personal relationship with God.

I wouldn't normally say something like this in KZbin comments, but your sincerity and the topic have inspired me: Too many people use their membership in groups that they're part of - whether those groups are religious, political, ethnic, gender-based etc. - as a reason to exclude things and people from their lives. That kind of "othering" mindset is, not to be hyperbolic, my personal idea of the root of all evil. Mark Twain wrote that travel was fatal to bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and I truly believe that the more diversity of experience and opinion we allow into our lives and our hearts, the smarter and kinder we become. Which is to say, I really appreciate you taking the time to explain why your faith, for you, isn't a reason not to do something like gaming, but is instead a reason to do it with kindness and empathy - you know, like a Christian, in the purest and original sense =)
