Depends on the action - surprised the Tikka was as loose as that, but can sort of understand the subtle differences between Remington clones. I had to bed my Borden action in an ACC as it would move significantly if you loosened the front screw. MDT were quite helpful though they did say that movement was normal. Bedding made a huge difference to accuracy, but the downside is that now I can only use 1 action with that chassis.

You will see an improvement over a cheap plastic factory stock with the MDT chassis without bedding. However, I did see a measurable improvement in my comp rifle with bedding my ACC front and rear. It also depends on what your acceptable level of precision is and what the rifle is capable of. If you’re using a factory barreled action and factory ammo, .5 MOA is about as well as you can expect it to shoot and bedding wouldn’t be beneficial. However, if you’re using a custom barreled action and handloads and expect groups as small as possible, that chassis should absolutely be bedded.

I’ve have a number of MDT chassis’s and completely disagree with you. My Tikka .308 Varmint went from a MOA to .4 - .5 MOA with the MDT chassis.

Hi there... I've just ordered a MDT chassis. I was sorta grateful that bedding not required .but ..was still interested Are you happy to list the "aluminium bedding compound" you used, and perhaps your source or specs for the stainless bolts? Many thanks
