I feel the same way about handbags, buy one at a time and after a long period of thinking about and researching it because I need to know there will be no doubt with my purchase. I feel I enjoy the bag more this way. I love my business affinity but glad to hear you got your dream bag as the one bag you will be keeping and for sharing your reasons. The way I see it, if I can comfortably afford 2 bags at the same time and one of them was an amazing deal that I most likely won't come across again, keeping both would just make more sense. I mean, what's the difference if I were to buy one now and the other 6 months from now? How would spacing out the purchases benefit me in any way? Waiting can and most likely will end up costing more in the long run so I wouldn't be saving anything which is a big negative in my book. So I torture myself with the wait and end up missing out on saving myself $2,000. I guess I'm just not understanding that thought process. I LOVE a bargain so I would be kicking myself for doing that lol, but that's just me.

I think she really likes this B.A more than loves it, in which case I can’t see her buying this exact bag again. Maybe in a different colour, something that really holds her heart, in which case the money would be better going to that purchase further down the line. A great bargain is only that if it’s truly what you want otherwise it’s a waste of money you could use on something you love. Some people like the bargain more than the product.

I did a crazy thing of buying at the same time the $3,600 black square mini and $6,500 white caviar medium classic flap from the 21C collection. I am so glad I did! I did more Chanel bag purchases in 2021including the $4,300 21P caramel medium Business Affinity before the astronomical price increases. No more plans of buying more Chanel bags with the crazy current prices. Love my Business Affinity!

I was thinking of getting the LV Manhattan GM. I love the style, the cute little pockets at the front and the floppy handles. The problem is, no matter how pristine the vachetta looks, for some reason the bottom corner piping is always worn. It seems to me that it's a design flaw and the corners wear super fast. I almost checked out with one yesterday, it is local so there would be no customs fees! But first I decided to look through different sites to compare the general wear and tear. All of these bags, regardless of condition and price, have the bottom corner damage. It's quite strange because the handles are still near pristine on some of them. Visible corner wear is a deal breaker to me and I know the damage will bother me in the long run.

I think that's a very wise decision then, to pass the bag by. No matter how much you love it, if you know you'll be bothered by the wear and tear, that will definitely diminish your love if you actually own the bag 😤 Thank you for sharing!

Hello, very interesting video. I visited the Chanel store here in Southern California. I was looking at a gorgeous Purple and Green Tweed Medium Flap with Burgundy leather and with Silver Hardware. Instead of the metal bar code, it had the card with s/n and showed it as 31 series. I noticed the quality of the chain was not as good as the older models. I had to twist it in two places and asked why this was happening. The associate said that he had other complaints and that this is a common occurrence and you just need to twist it back into place and it will stay. If that's the case, you would think Chanel would twist the chain into the place it's supposed to be in the first place! What do you think? I'm worried that the quality has really gone down-hill lately. I'm glad I have older models and I have never experienced problems with the chain twisting.

I have found the chain twisting something that's become pretty common. Especially in the smaller bags like the mini rectangular. The caramel mini rectangular was very known for chain twisting. I'm not sure why it's become such a common problem!

So, there is a Chanel Business Affinity that i have an opportunity to buy from 2018 that is in excellent condition EXCEPT the bottom gold tone feet need to be refinished or replaced. Do you happen to know how likely it is that Chanel would do that? The receipt is included and the bag was bought in Paris but never used, according to the seller. The feet being heavily scratched tells me that it was either stored incorrectly or was in fact used.. it is NON -returnable. Price, $5200. Medium size, leather interior. What would you do? I have a ‘thing’ about Longchamp purse/wallets. I mean, how many purses can I use at one time? Oh, how sad for the seller on Rebag!! I know it is a situation you did not intend to come into but I can't help feel sorry for the person who may have needed the money at that time to have to go through it being returned. This from a seller stand point. I also understand it is easier to return than to sell but it is some trouble for the company & the seller on what should've been a good sale. Glad you are trying to help sell it for them though. That is a kind & good thing to do. I just don't want ppl to get the idea to buy a bag try it out & send a perfectly good bag high end back to the seller costing them time & money. Also, you can consign. But your situation is different bc you did not do that intentionally & we feel ya. ;)

If it helps, Rebag isn't a platform for individual sellers. It's a resale company, like Fashionphile. They don't sell things on commission; they buy items outright from people. So no one lost any money but Rebag (the company), and they'll no doubt sell it with ease to the next person 🙂

I find that the BA is a comfortable crossbody, but it is a little on the larger side if you experience pain. That being said, everyone is different. I have chronic back pain and crossbody bags are actually more difficult for me than shoulder bags or top handles!

Hi, I think you made a very wise decision. I find it a bit too much seeing luxury youtubers unboxing expensive bags one after another in a very short time frame. Once you start purchasing luxury items, it’s always like a moving target. The peak is when you unbox an item, and then you are on a hunt for the next item. Yes, I would love to see more mindful consumption/finance videos. Also, can you do a video on how these luxury you tubers can afford to buy so many expensive hand bags in such a short time frame? Most of them say, I work really hard, but I think we all do. What are your thoughts on this?

I tend to agree, that it could be very easy to just fall into the pattern of wanting "more more more." I never want to unbox something and then just be, oh well now I have it, time to find the next thing. I think it's so important to really appreciate and enjoy everything I buy to the absolute fullest. For me that means being very mindful in my purchasing. And sometimes that means not buying or not keeping something that I still love! But being aware that it's just not the right time to add it in.

But, you could've invested that $1800 and gained interest on it. Chanel's quality is also decreasing, and it seems that you got a slightly older model that's well-made. And this bag is one you could wear into the ground, because it's highly functional! The smart budget choice would actually be to simply keep them both and invest the savings from the Chanel to really maximize your return. Otherwise, I'll be honest, I think you'll be making a pretty costly mistake.

I had to watch this video in 3 separate attempts because I kept getting interrupted 😂 Buying luxury on credit and then paying off right away is SO smart, I operate the same way. Credit offers so many benefits like insurance, cash back, etc…If you have the cash, why not put it on a card to get those benefits and then pay it off right away? In terms of the finances, there’s the old phrase “Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.” I think you might the right decision here. It’s not not perfect, don’t keep it.
