Why I bought the DJI Osmo Action 4 instead of Action 5 Pro / Unboxing the Adventure Combo

Every side-by-side video I've seen between the 4 & 5, the 5 has a clear advantage in lighting with the new sensor. That alone is worth it to me, since I do mostly outdoor videos.

Just purchased the action 4 for $ 209 on Amazon Black Friday sale. Costco has the camera and the Dji selfie stick/tripod ($43.00) and a 128 gig card ($16.00) for $199.99 for everything.

Just ordered this for $310 compared to 450 for the 5 pro. This is a huge upgrade for me coming from the GP9 which was a disaster. Glad I went with DJi this time around!

About your Pocket 3.. have you tried using the new Gimbal Mode? I think it is called FPV mode or FPV Locked mode. I only use follow mode when doing some B-Roll / Cinematic Shots.

The only reason the 5 has some superiority is because you can hook up 2 mics to it. The video on the 4 does look better.

New Osmo Action 5 has OLED screens. Got an internal memory of 47GB. Battery life has increased almost by an hour. It also has water depth and altitude indicator.

DJI is following in the footsteps of GoPro, off a cliff... chasing the megapixels. The GoPro Hero 8 is the best GoPro and the DJI Action 4 blows it out of the water, and is currently DJI's best action camera. Both have around 12 mp sensors.

I'm in the Vancouver area, and have been debating getting the 4 or 5 or pocket 3 for a while. I do lightsaber fighting, so it's hard to say what would be the best. If you'd like to collaborate I'd be game (I used to teach swordfighting)

Great video, nice one, I have the Pocket 3 too and it's fantastic, but like you said in a lot of real life PoV it's not ideal, like rain, snow, more action based clips, I end up not filming those moments for fear of damaging an expensive camera 😂 just ordered the action 4 as it's on sale, and comparison videos the 5 just doesn't look that much different for the extra 200€ in my country, excited to get better scenes between the two 😃

the action 4 is cheaper on amazon right now than the official store but it doesnt have the external mic included and just one battery and seems like no protective case… should i buy the more expensive one or amazon

@@hannnnaaah if you are not going to use it for adventure or action purposes I would actually recommend getting a latest mobile phone, cause you have it with you always,easy to upload and edit and share,you have the tap to focus function and now a days there's telephoto lens and ois 😅

Just bought the Adventure combo and the accessories separately on Amazon which was still cheaper than on the DJi site. Worth it!

This should have been split into two videos. The title explicitly mentioned the Osmo Action, but instead there was a lot of blab on other cameras.

Action 4 is better than Action 5 in price and image quality. I always shoot in D LOG-M, but even in the Normal Color profile the Action 4 is better. If I want that bad HDR look of the OA5 (I don't) I can do it in post.

I have the osmo action 4 ,the downside is it can't focus up close ,and doesnt have autofocus because it's an action camera ,if they make another version catered to vloggers with the lens of osmo pocket 3 and with autofocus ,I can just use one camera 😂

is there no way to fix this? like no button to focus or touch screen to focus? or any settings to change this? I want to use it more for vlogging than action

@hannnnaaah the lens is fixed focus to infinity,actually osmo action 3 is the one designed for vlogging ,I'm just not buying it cause it's expensive in our country 😂 ,also I like the form factor of just a rectangle shape camera,I have a macro lens that I attach in front of the lens on the action 4, but it's hassle,I have to attach and remove and there's no thread sometimes I knock it off loose,and even that there's minimum focus distance that it can focus to.
