Im trying to hold off for the Komodo Z which hasn't been talked about yet. Ive been an avid Nikon shooter since 2018 with the D850 (which was horrible for video) I was primary a photographer starting out but been transitioning to video. I have 2 Z9s and a Z8 and they work great like you were saying with the Sonys but I have an itch for the Komodo. Im just trying to hold off high hopes for a Komodo Z LOL. Great breakdown video of the Komodo X though and I learned a few things watching your vid. Thanks!

I have the red I/O box for mine. It’s actually full metal and feels amazing. The gap between the battery is great to route cables through. Red told me they have had issues with the tilta and no longer suggest it. I’d go the RED or mutiny I/O.

That’s good to hear! I still don’t love the way it looks but glad that it’s full metal, I may see if I can borrow or rent one before committing. Did they say why they don’t recommend the tilta?

@@DustinHarrelson yes, so I bought the I/O expander to be able to run time code on my KX for a project I was hired for. We couldn’t get it to work (ended up being a wrong cable supplied by sound). But I was speaking with red and they asked if it was the tilta, I said no it was the red, they told me they had many people call in about the tilta having I/O issues, like timecode cutting out or not working at all. They said it was frequent enough to remove the tilta from their recommended list. What area are you located? You could check mine out if you’d like. I’ve ran the mutiny and the red on productions. I definitely prefer the red. The read out on the side is nice. Service panel. And the size allows easy cable management. Can’t really go wrong with either.

With the price cuts it’s probably around $14,000 but I’m paying it in monthly installments for the next 5 years or so😂 It’s the biggest camera great purchase I’ve ever made by far but since it’s my full time job it made sense for the business!

Hi! No, you have to attach a lens to it. It uses canon RF lenses or you can use adapters for other lenses.
