Porsche now has a 'paint to black' option for ceramics...so you can't necessarily tell by the color of the calipers. You need to look at the rotors now to decipher.

Hey Will, any plans for a finance talk vid? Currently in an M2 Comp and looking to make the move to GT4 next year. Curious to know which route you went down.

Hi BH, yep it's added to my list of things to film. Will try and get Jack from Charles & Dean to perhaps help me out too on the video 🤞

How much over list price did you have to pay for the GT4?

Thanks mate! Me too, should clean it up nicely and make it feel more like mine

PDK for 20 grand is ludicrous. Spend 10 grand to regear the manual gearbox with shorter gearing and you have something more driver focused and engaging for 1/2 the price than the PDK.

You do know that ceramics last for about 100k regardless if you track the car or not You’ll change your steel brakes about five times (probably more) before you’ll change one set of ceramics
@MrHCars2 жыл бұрын
Not really concerned about how long the discs last. More concerned about the cost to replace them. Ceramics are about 10-20k vs steels! In the lifetime of owning the car I’ll still spend less money replacing steel discs than 1 set of ceramics. Not the mention the chances of a stone chip just cracking the ceramics with normal driving
@johnauld02 жыл бұрын
@@MrHCars is it really that much of an issue?…never actually heard personally of anyone’s ceramic brake being damaged to such an extent that they had to be replaced also I’m not sure where you’re getting the cost being £10k- 20k to replace 🤔….anyway, great car and looks brilliant…enjoy the experience 😎
@randomhawks32322 жыл бұрын
Not dealing with brake dust is worth the cost IMO!

Thanks for sharing will. All logical choices. PCCB are a £6k option that can turn into a £20k+ disaster. The clubsport pack ends up not being used by most people who spec it for resale only. Carbon buckets great to look at but utterly wasted day to day and a re a pig to get in and out of as you say. You’ve bought a legend of a car. It’s all downhill from here…… I dare you to find anything also on the market which is directly comparable from a sound, feel, driving dynamics and cost perspective. Soak it up my friend. Owning a Porsche is so much more than just a badge and 4wheels. Expect some hate along the way tho. Some people simply don’t like the badge which is a shame cos these are the best cars out there and they are missing out.

Haha I said the same thing to my mate the other day, I think I've peaked 😢 unless I can find 150k somewhere for a GT3, which you could argue isn't any different... Thank you anyway mate! 👊

Ceramics can't turn into a 20k+ disaster, otherwise it would be a lot more than 6k to spec in the first place
@angrydwarf65632 жыл бұрын
@@SanjayVerma-ih1nw unfortunately not. Replacement discs from surface transform are circa 10k, genuine PCCB discs are £5k a corner and can’t be re honed. The £6k upgrade when speccing a car is a trap. They wouldn’t be able to sell them as a £20k option as no one would buy them. As a maintenance item however……take a trip into a gravel trap and damage front and rear discs and you have an expensive day out.
@SanjayVerma-ih1nw2 жыл бұрын
@@angrydwarf6563 of course, they lose money every time someone ticks the box and pays 6k 🤦🏽♂️😂
@angrydwarf65632 жыл бұрын
@@SanjayVerma-ih1nw your original post questioned the 20k statement- Porsche make money twice over. The point is that they are.expensive either way and replacement more so. The gt4 is a loss leader for Porsche. Do some research

what are your thoughts on the race-tex steering wheel? Have you had to clean it yet? Is it a pain to clean?
@MrHCars Жыл бұрын
Feels & looks nicer than the leather in my opinion. Also helps maintain grip on a hoon. But yeah, I’ve had to clean it a few times with baby wipes, nothing too strenuous

Love the car, congrats. But I would have gone with brighter color tho.. maybe red or blue or green

Thanks dude. Yep, loved all the Blues but none on the market to my exact spec. GT Silver works for me too and this car also ticked all the options on spec
@kevinmcg67472 жыл бұрын
Lovely car Mr H, you need to see GT Silver in the flesh to understand how good a colour it is. IMO the manual is the one to go for tho with Porsche there is no bad gearbox option. Looking forward to watching more on the car and resisting the temptation to buy one - resisting is such a strong word 😂😂. Cheers, Kevin.

Thanks Kevin!! Drove the car at night last week and GT Silver looks even nicer imo! The darker shades 😍 Thanks for sticking around mate 👊

@@MrHCars well because of your Influence I was looking at a 65 plate 981 GT4 manual. It had the carbon bucket seats which I thought looked excellent, however after sitting in the car the next Day I had major back pain!! The car was Carmine Red with black wheels so looked the part. Suspect I may end up trying a comfort seat option. All the best, Kevin. PS saw the original price of the car and 6.5yrs later it’s still selling for more!

Which is better the mighty m2 competition or your new car, love to know as I'm about to by a m2 competition. Thanks.
@MrHCars2 жыл бұрын
They’re both amazing in very different ways. I don’t think it’s fair to compare them really. M2 is asbo and easier to live with. But gt4 is more precise and racey-er. Different horses for courses but both fun!

Mate. The bucket seats are never annoying. Stop trying to convince us, or are you trying to convince yourself? 🤣😉
@MrHCars2 жыл бұрын
I don’t need convincing, they’re amazing seats! But a faff to get in and out of & something I didn’t want to live with. Have you sat in them? Getting in and out multiple times?
@randomhawks32322 жыл бұрын
Buckets are a must IMO and set the tone for the GT characteristic of the car! Getting in and out is not a big deal if you have any athletic ability. If not, go w/ comfort sofas. P1 Designs makes amazing inserts for the buckets with memory foam and lumbar support which gives you the best of both worlds (looks & comfort) w/ no compromise on the road feel.

981 gt4 is awful to drive that clutch is really heavy to the point I couldn’t wait to get out of it, once u get back in your m2 it was like a feather, I need 4 seats no matter how much man maths I do 😂, I’ll have to drive a 911 at some point did you try out a 911 ?

I didn't drive a 981 GT4, but I've heard this about the clutch. Only wanted a GT Porsche so a GT3 911 was out of the budget
