Why I Call It Capstone Project and not Thesis

Curious why I always refer to it as "capstone project" and not "thesis"? There's a reason for that. Let me tell you why.

Capstone/design = with fix goal and specification in mind. Resulting in commercial products Thesis/research = with open-ended goal. No specification in mind. Not actually resulting in a product. We research to understand the world. we design to change the world.

Hi, thanks for asking! I-share ko na lang ang ginawa namin nung college: inisa-isa lang namin mga shops sa lugar namin, nagpakilala kami bilang students na nagte-take ng capstone project at sinabi naming looking kami for clients. Syempre matatakot sila baka isipin nila need ng bayad, so inunahan na agad naming wala silang babayaran, basta ang need lang gawin is maki-coordinate throughout the software development process. Nung pumayag sila, ininform namin subject adviser namin at doon na kami humingi ng school letter (hindi ko na alam ang tawag, basta subject adviser ang gagawa ng letter) tapos iyon ang ibibigay ninyo pabalik sa client, bilang agreement ba. As you see, huling part iyong sa letter so important na meron na kayong sure na client bago kayo humingi ng letter mula sa inyong adviser, kasi ipapapirma niya pa iyon sa Course Advisers at Department Head.

IT student po kami pero Thesis yung pina-final requirement sa amin, new curriculum siguro. Paano po kaya i-convert yung Capstone na "Information System for X Organization" into a Thesis? And ano po kaya yung differences sa Table of Contents ng dalawa? Salamat po!

it can become a thesis by thinking of new concepts or new contributions na pwede ninyong ilagay sa Information System na hindi pa nasusubukang idagdag noon doon. But whatever that is, it's up to you to find out. Good luck!
