Having multiple Hilton Aspires is a great way to go. You definitely get a lot of value. If you have a lot of MR points, you need a place to park them if you close cards that earn MR points. That would be an argument for holding onto the BBP, unless you have charge cards you don’t plan on closing.

Good point, I’m banking on a no annual fee charge card coming out within the next decade. Also, I’ll just spend all the MR points before that day comes if I don’t have a real way to keep the points. Or I could get rid of the most recent hilton aspire and replace it with an everyday card when that day comes to preserve the MR points. These scenarios are years down the line for me, but for someone who’s closer to that point, they would need to give themselves a haven for their MR points, the good news is there are lots of options

Got down turned down for the up grade from Hilton Honor card to the Hilton aspire card . Like how you switch card out had had Honor card for almost 1yr . Aspire fee not to High Coming from three platinum cards one being a business vanilla, Charles Schwab

I love that idea. I’ve still got their grocery card and an old legacy Amex card that’s like 15 years old. It’s probably time to let those fall off to make space for some repeat cards with higher value. For Mil and spouses, would you recommend running 10 platinum cards or 9 platinum and a gold for the end game?

Love the question, 10 platinum’s definitely. You can sacrifice the spouse for getting a gold card for the end game, but I think you will find by the time you get to the end game, majority of your point earning/redemption will be Chase UR point’s because they provide the best value/flexibility/use and it’s not close. Therefore the gold card isn’t as useful for dining, even for groceries, I shop at Walmart for groceries since it’s cheaper and closer, and Walmart doesn’t code for groceries. Better off earning points via Chase UR in that case

Pop up jail happened, couldn’t get the SUB for the honors so had no choice but to get the aspire
