I LOVED this model and got 3 good hatches out of it before it randomly caught on fire for some unknown reason. Mine was obviously defective ( which was just my luck because I was doing a professional review for a Seller) but I still would buy one again because it was so easy to use and the only issue I had was getting the temps right on setup but once it was where it needed to be it was smooth sailing for 3 big batches of babies.

I found the first hatch to be only OK and then the top warped from the heat of the incubation and then it didn't hold in heat or humidity after that. And the heating element and fan being in the bottom to be covered in hatch goo was a horrible idea. I will never buy one of these again.
@DR-zj4od Жыл бұрын
This incubator is good IF: You keep it inside the Styrofoam container it shipped in while using it (open to check on things as it does not need a tight fit just enough to store the heat better), pour about 5 bottles worth of distilled water down the inside side every 2 weeks or so (forget using the little hole on the side and squeezing one bottle of water in every other day. The tray that is in a "U" shape on the perimeter will hold about 16 ounces of water), calibrate the temperature setting with an accurate thermometer BEFORE placing eggs inside it (most units come with poor temperature calibration), just get used to a high humidity since you CANNOT control it and it does not matter anyway as long as it is humid inside, place a screen over the plastic bottom at lockdown so the mess stays "mostly" from dropping down onto the fan and place the eggs NOT over the fan to keep goo from hitting the fan and making it difficult to clean later, take out all the screws from the plastic floor and discard them as they have no point since you clean and sterilize the unit after each hatching period. I use this incubator for about 3-4 runs of chicks each summer and following these few things will make this incubator work great and last a long time. It is also a very low price but with some tips you can get some great use out of it and use you money elsewhere. I do not love this incubator but I do really like it for the price, just follow some simple tips and it will last several years and serve you well and save you money.

You make a lot of good points but I still think the circuitry being in the bottom is a horrible design. And I really don't want to work so hard to figure it all out. I want my incubator to work without all the caveats. I'm glad you've found solutions. I still can't recommend this one but I do appreciate your input and hope it helps someone :)

I have this incubator and I struggle getting the humidity high enough. I'm surprised you can get it high enough for the hatching period. on my second use 2 of the led egg candling turners stopped working. I liked this incubator at first as well but realized it has a lot of flaws. I have not had much success with the babies hatching full term. When they do hatch like you said they get thier feet, heads or body stuck or fall through the edges. Makes me scared to leave during the hatch period. I also have to pull them out before they are dry because of the fear of falling.
@pickin-grinnin-homestead3 жыл бұрын
100% agree! That's why I've switched to the Farm Innovators 4250 amzn.to/31tHy94 It has everything I liked about the Aceshin but none of those design flaws. I just hatched 27 babies and they are doing great! Cleanup was super easy too. I now have duck eggs and I'm excited to see how that goes.

If you have the Styrofoam that it came with use the bottom to insulation of your incubator because most of the heat is lost through the plastic... On all of my incubators I keep the foam and it works great

Thank you for your updated review! I received this incubator 2 days ago from Amazon, and am returning it! I've incubated (partots) before, so I understand what a terrible design this is. The listing did not give enough detail to know these things before it arrived. Also on mine, it appears impossible to remove individual egg racks. I can only imagine the potential disaster of having to lift the whole flimsy apparatus, while full of eggs. Great review.

How many eggs hatched
@SnK.on.Wheels3 жыл бұрын
I followed 55 degrees humidity but eggs did not soften enough for hatching. I am in my second batch and I keep humidity at 69-70 percent. I keep the top covered which keeps the temp even inside the casing. I consider the design responsible for poor result. Fan should not have been at the base

I think yours is the worst case I've heard yet! Farm Innovators is my faithful incubator now. You have to make sure temp and humidity are checked with separate temp and humidity gauges bc the built in one is not always calibrated properly. This is the worst incubator I ever owned! The design is awful. We are hatching chicks! When they hatch there is going to be blood, liquid, mucus, slime, crushed shells, and all that goes to the bottom of the incubator that can’t be clean with out tools! Yeah! Big window to see is inside is nice, but the mechanism of the incubator is at the bottom! I dry hatch so the alarm drove everyone crazy letting us know that the humidity was low. I can’t reset the days counter. Is on day 26 and the egg turner isn’t working. One positive point? The temperature is great.

I don't like it. After one use it will not reset my days to zero. The temp and humidity are not correct. The instructions are not concise. Setting the thing is a major hassle bc it is too quick to back track when trying to adjust settings. Candle feature is useless. Other than that, it's OK. 😬
