I can honestly say, that your content is unique. I know there are samey creators who still are able to be great on their own (Danny, Drew etc are the prime example). But in my experience, what I get from you, I haven't gotten from anyone else so far. Your personality is so pleasant, that I watch your videos even when it's a topic I don't care about. Bottom line is, you can definitely improve technical aspects and play around with different content ideas, but try to be as _you_ as you possibly can. Don't get discouraged or start shaving off your edges and changing your style to please others. The competition is so tough, that you can only stand out by being yourself. Remember, there's clearly something in you and your videos that people *value* - don't lose sight of that.

Over the past year or so, I could really tell you'd been challenging yourself to do more for your vlogs, and personally, I feel it's paid off. Your content always stands out to me as something one of a kind. Yes, you sit down and do "chat-style" videos, but your content is thought-provoking and comforting and so relatable. I've been following for a few years now, and it's been so fascinating and heartwarming to hear you openly discuss your life and the challenges and changes you come across. Even though my life may look very different from yours on the outside, I find myself coming back each week knowing that I can find something I identify with as well: taking each day as a chance to learn and grow from mistakes while also grappling with coming of age, my surroundings, and my mental health. I come to your channel for the content and the comedy (honestly, dad jokes and puns are so unappreciated! They make me smile without fail!) and stay because of your candor and the care you put into your craft. Your video quality is stunning and it's so refreshing to listen to someone so real with a larger platform. Listening to you is like having a deep chat with a friend and it's so refreshing to have that on the internet nowadays. I suppose this long-winded message is my effort to say that I appreciate seeing all the work, effort, and love you put into your videos and to thank you for staying true to yourself. I know I for one am grateful to have your corner of the internet to turn to.

As a video editor who has worked in marketing, I have also heard the line: "We could find anyone to do this." But the quality of that video is only going to be as good as the money you paid for that pizza. Meaning, your video will look like trash. For all the creatives out there: Don't work for people who don't understand and respect the creative industry; they will NEVER be satisfied with what you do.

I first saw you on a 'Fun for Louie' episode many moons ago, which led me to your travel vlog, which in turn led me to your main channel...Initially, your appeal for me was your striking resemblance to my youngest son which very quickly turned into a fondness for your content..I loved your sense of humour, the one where you and Dodie do each others make-up still stands out as a favourite. Since then you have obviously matured, your skills as an editor and content maker have improved beyond recognition but you have always stayed true to your personal values (and despite the 'dad' jokes, still make me laugh..lol). I admire your work ethic, your honesty and your desire for self-improvement, the only negative I can think of is that sometimes you are a little too hard on yourself..... Your respect for your subscibers is evident and that is important too, I also admire your life choices, it can't have been easy to move so far from home at a young age, I don't think some folk really understand how that' shapes a person, to miss family and familiarity, whilst perhaps feeling a little guilty that you are also finding a new life away from them is hard, ( I know that from experience), and to add on top the insecurity of your choice to be a KZbinr and all that brings, is a testament to your strength and determination. As long as you make content, I shall certainly be watching, whether it's on fancy recording equipment (which is a treat) or on a dodgy camera with iffy auto-focus, it is you as a person that keeps us loyal to your channel...I look forward to seeing how you continue to grow, as a content maker, a photographer and as a person...hopefully, one day, there will be a marriage, maybe children, new business ventures, a house to turn into a home, all the things that give life meaning :) ... In this time of uncertainty, familiarity and the company of like-minded people, albeit via social media, is doubly important...so thank you...I wish you the very best of luck for all you do in the future, stay safe x

I didn't realise how much I needed to hear this. As a performer, I'm constantly comparing what I can do to others, to my previous self, and the quality/style etc. that I'm capable of producing never feels 'good' enough. Thank you so much for this video! It rang so true to a lot of what I’ve gone through in the last year and I think I know why. I set up my own business just under a year ago, and quite honestly, it’s gone really well, despite me making mistake after mistake in some areas. But what you say about the mistakes is so true. Every single one has felt crushingly disappointing at the time, but I’ve always learned a valuable lesson from it. It’s either taught me more about the equipment I use, or more about my customers, or more about the products I make, or how to value my time, and so on. I think the reason we have both gone through this is because it’s our own business, and we’re having to make our own way. It’s not like working for a company, where you are trained and shown what to do for each piece of work or area of work. My point is, I now feel prouder in myself and more confident, for every mistake and learning process I’ve been on. Anyway, long comment but thanks for the video and your editing and content is absolutely top notch 😍

I think your attention to detail, your dedication to improve, and your striving to have more knowledge really ends up being very transparent in the outcomes. I think the respect that you have for your own work, by giving it value yourself, by wanting to do this for yourself, contributes so much to the overall quality of your videos, and that is something that I respect in you. It's inspiring to me as well, it makes me more confident to do things that I like and accept my mistakes as learning opportunities rather than failures. Thank you for this wonderful video! I’ve wanted to do it for so long and have just felt inadequate. Even after uploading I’ve been feeling like it’s not good enough and isn’t on par with what other creators are doing. This helped to remind me to focus on my own progress and doing & learning things for myself, not as a comparison tool to other people. This was really inspiring. I always love watching your videos!

Omg! I love this message! I’m dealing with this at my job. I’m getting by but have been desiring to really step up my game. It’s really good to better yourself because you respect yourself and think that you are capable of amazing things not just because you have to.

The next time someone tries to pull that stunt and say they can find someone else, tell them to go for it (if it is financially possible), you don't need that kind of toxicness in your life! Also I love the updated quality!

As someone who has been watching your videos for almost 6 years now, I have definitely noticed how much your content has improved. I still come for the same reasons, those being that i think you’re an interesting, relatable person, with so much interesting stuff to say. That being said, the improvement in your video quality (though I don’t know anything about how your doing it) has totally helped improve the experience. I hope you keep making content that you find interesting or exciting cause that’s the stuff that I love to see most.

So proud of you and I kind of get this. I'm a scientist not a vlogger, but I understand the frustration you get when you have no idea how to solve a problem and I also understand how less frustrating it is when you're able to learn from your mistakes. It makes messing up worthwhile if you're able to learn from it.

I, admittedly, haven’t watched any of your videos in a while so when I saw this in my subscription box I clicked on it bc I used to loooovr your videos (still do)! I just want to say that I immediately noticed the production quality! The lighting, the colors, the camera focus!!!! It all looks so, so nice and I can totally see ur hard work paying off!!!

Wow...that was so inspirational. I'm studying to be an illustrator and it often feels like a drop in the ocean of others in the industry. I struggle with comparing and imposter syndrom far too often. But, you're 100% correct: the only person we need to be better than is ourselves. Ooft, I needed this message. Thanks, man. Keep doing whatever content you choose to do and subscribers like myself will appreciate it cause you're doing it.

I've always liked your videos but I've found myself really looking forward to every one over the past few months- like even topics that might not normally spark my interest. I genuinely get excited on Sundays because I know you're going to post and I get that for no other youtuber. The visual quality is really distinct and I've really enjoyed following your photography journey also. I've found as you're learning I'm learning because you comment on the grading or focus or whatever and it makes me feel like I'm doing more than passively absorbing content and actively engaging and learning. I really appreciate your attitude. I remember reading a book about making art for commercial value (i.e. making it your job) and the introduction said something about how the thing that makes your art valuable it your personal style- it's the bit of you in it. And I feel like recently the videos have become much more you in every aspect- your excitement about the aesthetics or sketch style or creative reflexivity in the community videos. I feel like if you put someone else in the shot I could still tell it was your video. I'm glad you are on this mission, I look forward to enjoying witnessing its products.

I actually found your channel through your travel vlog, and having followed you for years and loving your personality, it lead me to really appreciate your new set up. The quality of your videos it's amazing. It improved so much from the beginnings, even from last year. The colours are great, the focus is crispy, the audio is clear... It really stands out all the effort and work you put into it. So I'd say "Anyone can do it but not everyone can do it WELL"
