the gear indicator gets nil when you have engage even little amount of clutch.. releasing clutch totally will show you gear position. its kind of safety feature which let rider know that clutch is engaged and should release it to avoid clutch plate burn.

I bought it yesterday,,,,I purchased it for city as well as small nearby tour. I bought the 2022 apache rtr 160 4v. 3 months back. Recently I took the test ride on the xpulse 2v (there was no 4v available for test ride), I didn't like the bike's engine. It's more stressed doing 80kmph on the highway than my Apache. I had bought the Apache thinking about city usage, but there are a few things I didn't like about the bike so I thought after a year or so I'll find a replacement. I had high hopes on the xpulse but the engine is not very refined at higher speeds there is no such problem in the apache, I have constantly done speeds of 85 to 95 kmph on the highway keeping rpm under 7k no problems whatsoever.

@@shonith91 I agree with your perspective wrt to the XPlulse 200 2V but the 4V is decently smooth and can hold its own on the highway 85-90 is easily done. As for the Apache 160 RTR, that too is a well accomplished motorbike with a smooth engine, gearbox and a lusty exhaust note. Frankly, I'd choose the Apache over everything else if the requirement is only to ride in town. Highway riding requires comfortable & small seating plus the unforeseen circumstances wrt to roads or the lack of it also needs consideration.. Hence, the XPulse makes better sense over all. A well rounded product which can more than handle anything thrown at it.

@@pranav3526 I didn't like some things about the bike, Turning radius is a bit too big for a small bike like apache, the handle doesn't turn to the sides a whole lot. In the city it becomes a bit difficult to take tight turns. Seat is slanted if you ride with a pillion (I do ride with my wife) often times when you break they will end up pushing against you. The service by tvs is a bit expensive compared to hero. I have done 2 service so far and both have costed me about 1000+ for basic service. Build quality is not uniform on the bike I had paint chipping on the chassis I got it touched up by the service center. And also my seat tore in a month, it was manufacturing defect that's what the showroom people claimed, got it replaced under warranty. Good things about the bike. Good average mileage I am getting about 50kmpl. Good performance on offer where I need it. In gear acceleration is good from 5000 to 7000rpm that's where I ride. I don't need to down shift to overtake. Company claims top speed of 114kmph. I have done 121 and 126 on 2 occasions. Can cruise at 80 to 90 kmph keeping rpm below 7000 engine feels every smooth not stressed. Has GTT (glide through technology) which is useful in city traffic to move the bike at snail pace. It's a good bike makes about 17.5ps and about 14.7Nm of torque weighs 139kgs with 3ltrs of fuel. There are very few bikes in the Indian market which offer performance, mileage and comfort together.

Abhinandan 🥳 Same pinch bhai.. majhi bs6 variant ahe and trust me this is best versatile vehicle available in market so far. just slight modifications and then it's good to go. few suggestions, seat gets a bit stiff once you start riding for long even in city for both rider and pillion, so as per your comfort you can use aftermarket gel seats or you do custom seat modification. and lastly the headlights are weak they don't give you proper visibility if u r driving at night so aur lights are must. rest all you have already covered. ride hard ride safe 🙏 kadhi yog ala tar sobat ride karu

I always saw hero as a budget segment bike, commuter friendly and all but not for youngsters or people looking for fun. I thought Xpulse would change everything but read online 200 2v was a little bit underpowered. Today i took a test ride and i am only 5feet4in but the bike blew me away, it has so much power on lower rev, is so refined and build quality is top notch. The seating posture is totally different. I have been riding an apache rtr 160 which is a beast but it also requires lot of engagement in terms of posture (meaning your hands are stretched ahead of you and lower than your shoulders). Its a good posture if you are racing but not if you need to ride 30kms daily in bumper to bumper traffic. In traffic riding an apache feels difficult as i said the bike has good acceleration but then you need to brake quick and the entire front area is made heavier on an apache to assist in racing but you get the idea that your hands and shoulders need to work a lot harder in those traffic jams to control momentum while pressing clutches and brakes (phewww...) But give a little way of open space and it can overtake everything. Apache has everything good for me but after 10 years of riding it I refused to buy rtr 200 although its so good for racing and even seat height is less than xpulse. And that is only because i dont want to stress my body in those traffic jams anymore and an xpulse can take me a lot of other places. Anyways, the xpulse seems taller, I could handle it thanks to my practice on apache but beginner riders with short heights, you will have to practice a lot. The Xpulse is not heavy like Himalayan but can do everything the Himalayan can. The build quality of switches and console looked premium. The side stand was not good and you might need a separate footrest for ladies sitting sideways, the one by default is placed forward and i honestly had no one to test but check that point youself. The riding posture is world apart from apache, i felt so relaxed in my seating posture that i cant describe. (maybe that comfort was exaggerated because i am driving a demanding sports bike like apache). But i don't think any medium height guy will find a better seating posture than Xpulse. Cant comment on seat quality as it needs long term experience .... but yeah I had to give someone in reply the only painful con of riding Apache that i have. Its the best racing bike in its segment but since its tank and front body heavy and requires a demanding posture, I am letting u go Apache this time. Hero Xpulse 4v here I come. !

You forgot a basic point that this bike has tube tyre and which most of folks does not like to get stranded on road. A tubeless tyre is always better for city .

Thats a small compromise for the benefits u get. It can be anyways turned to tubeless with rhe help of an expert. And its an proper adv bike...it needs to have spokes for offroading

Hero bikes bs6 engines are very smooth. (Only until 10,000km) I own Super Splendor bs6, drove 11000km in 1 year. Until 10,000 km bike engine was so smooth but now it started vibrating. Secondly, Hero bikes engine sound on top gear sounds too harsh even if u are driving economically and makes u feel to shift another gear UP. (Even if u ride on top gear, engine sounds like to shift on more gear) Mileage, Maintainance are excellent. If engine sound don't get improved after 15,000 km maybe i will sell my bike and buy TvS Raider
