I love the discbound. I didn’t think I would, but I love it. I know some people cut slits and use rings, I did that too when I first bought my personal Kikki K. I liked it but I didn’t like the fact that the rings got in my ways while writing so I cut slits... I tried discbound and love the customization but I love how I can fold it back on it self. GAME CHANGER!! Well for me it was.. and still is!

Same here!! The rings get in my way of writing so I end up taking the paper out anyway. Discbound took that step of cutting slits and pulling the paper out anyway.

Hi Sonia! The discbound system is definitely a game changer. I've tried a lot of planners, but I always come back to discs. I'm currently loving both the half letter and mini size (equivalent to a B6 notebook). So many options to customize a system that will truly work for you. Thanks for tuning in!

Good morning! I remember when Michaels first brought out their BOHO line, including the faux leather TNs. The sold for around $14.99. No one knew what they were and they went on clearance for $1.50. I picked up several. LOL on the color. I would never have purchased the Champagne Rose personal from Recollections but I love it! LOL My Recollections ring is my work horse. I have the beautiful peach tone then added a western charm to the bottom right corner on the front with E6000 to personalize. I'll be showing that in my video - hopefully next week. That said, I also use discs and string. Depends on what I'm using the planner for. Michaels in Springfield MO has tons of their planners. Largest selection of planners I have in my area. Happy Planning!

There's nothing better than a clearance find, especially when you just want to test a planner style. Thanks for tuning in!

I bought a cute kikki k a few years ago at Michaels, with my coupon it was $12. I used it a lot and it was surprisingly light for the huge rings, 1 1/4". I have a recollections bought on clearance at Michaels in hallogram that people like but I feel silly using it. I don't think they carry recollections anymore - or kikki k. I have a lot of ring planners I've bought over the years in basic black, brown, tan. I'm older and I want something less businesslike in pastels or prints. My job is not professional, it might be at some point and I wouldn't mosey into a board meeting with a pink planner or flowers. But right now I want something pretty, inexpensive, and light. I bought a travel journal ( not notebook) at Walmart with 4 strings. It had a slot and I could put removable rings in it but it was SO heavy. I'd like a cheap kikki k that's light or recollections. No one sells them anywhere near me.

Another excellent video. For planning, I like A5 rings. For journaling, I like strings. When I journal, I don't need to move things around. I still have several books that I use for various purposes, but I aspire to pare all that down to one or 2 over the course of the year.

Hi Diane! Seems like you have your system in order. I agree that strings are a great option for journaling. Thanks for tuning in!

@@lakiamaria you're welcome! I'm getting a lot out of watching your videos. I work in a library and we're starting a planning group with our financially disadvantaged patrons in mind. All planner newbies. We've gotten a bunch of donations from planner companies. The options are a bit overwhelming, but a good problem to have. Your videos are helping me help them to decide and avoid FOMO. Thank you!

A5 ring is my work horse.... I cut slits in hole to move everything around so I don’t have to pop rings. Best of both worlds.

Hi Natasha! I see a lot of people do that with their A5 rings. It's a great hack. Thanks for tuning in!

I would choose discs, but the regular printing paper falls off them. So it is rings and TNs for me.

have you tried #32 paper? I use that weight and don't have problems. Happy Planning!

Tha actual Happy Planner punch has deeper cuts than the Arc punch. I use a Tul planner which is comparable to the Arc system but I punch with the Happy Planner punch. It holds better.

Add some tape to the edge to be punched, front and back, before punching the holes for discs. Cheap rather than expensive tape because it does use a lot of tape.

@@KellysCreativeDreams I've been using 32 pound paper in my discbound planner and it works great. Not only does it stay in the planner, but I write in pencil and 32 pound paper is much better to write on. It is also much better for double-sided printing, the image on one side of the page isn't visible on the other.

You said so many great things in this video! I like your point about finding the planner that meets your needs at that stage in your life. Discs fit my catchall planning system the best and I use a standard TN for dailies and projects. I tried rings but couldn't stick with it for everything so now I'm considering it just as a faith binder for prayer journaling & sermon notes.
@lakiamaria5 жыл бұрын
Hi Kandi! While it would be great to use the same planner forever, realistically, different layouts fit better with different stages of our lives. I've had extremely busy days where a daily layout was required to really manage my time. There was another point in my life where a weekly was all I needed. I recommend writing down what you need in a planner and choose your system from there. Thanks for tuning in!

@@lakiamariaI totally agree with you and I've actually reflected, revised & simplified my system to just discs for my catchall and daily notebook so I can add in different style pages from time to time. Because you're right that things do change lol

I agree... you should always try the idea of something before the look of it. Getting something with the same idea and purpose as what u want just to see if u like it. If u don't it's not a big deal, if u do like it, go get the original one u wanted
