You said jee is a good exam. Well I am not saying that the admission in foreign universities is nice, but the jee is rigged as well because of 2 main reasons: 1) coaching industry 2) chemistry (learning portion which practically constitutes ~80%) . But the mains reason is first: 70% students entering IIT are from urban areas(where there are coaching institutes). Some of the institutes like fiitjee Punjabi bagh always give ranks in top 10,i don't think it is a mere coincidence or Delhi students are extremely intelligent; it's just that some coaching centres are indeed better for jee. Coachings now (rightly) guarantee admissions to IIT,do you think that's vaguely fair? Take for example upsc where no student ever scores >60% marks or coaching guarantees clearance of exam and students not going to coaching regularly do secure many ranks in top 100

All this is okay, but one of the most important criteria to judge a college is its alumni, and it is a matter of fact the alumni from IITs are nowhere close to that produced by Harvard, MIT and Stanford. JEE sure is a great way to filter out the most intelligent and hardworking people, but most of them take up jobs in consultancy or do things nowhere remotely related to the courses they took. Harvard and MIT might not have people as bright as IITians(not true but just for the sake of argument), but these colleges allow the students to choose their course after the first year. They are allowed to try out a plethora of courses from social sciences to pure sciences in the first year. Still, after choosing a major they have a lot of flexibility. In foreign universities culture is way different from here in India. The struggle is on even after getting into college (dropout rates are as high as 7-8%), while students in India take a rather relaxed approach. I am in no way trying to undermine IIT or IITians, I just wanted to put the correct facts forward. I would respect Kalpit to have a more unbiased approach as many people rely on what he says. And to everyone following him blindly I would say that getting rank 1 in an exam doesn't guarantee knowledge about everything.
@kalpitveerwalyt2 жыл бұрын
Have you done some research or have some data to support this? You’re just using your opinion with no numbers - I’ve done some research on this and came to these conclusion. @@kalpitveerwalytI want to ask you one questions regarding this topic. How many nobel laureates have the glorious IITs produced if they are much better than so and so foreign universities? In India we still think that the ability to quickly solve some tricky questions is the best way to asses. I can not even dare to argue that anywhere in India. However, do note that the IITs are not the best institutes. You need to face the reality no matter how much biased you are. I agree on the point that it is "almost" impossible for a middle class student to go to so and so foreign universities. However you can not possibly think that the best minds of India are in IITs only. Get out of that IIT-is-the-best shell and you will realize it.

7:00 that is the only reason for choosing abroad education. The amount of practical knowledge you get in foreign universities is much more than IIT in India. The education here in India is more focused on theory than practical and research based. You are right sir but I think there is extreme grind involved in IIT JEE. Problem still exists in this exam too. Indian students, even, if they crack IIT JEE, sometimes end up not getting their preferred branch in their preferred colleges. Also, there is a need to make children aware of the informed choices. Sometimes, they want to crack IIT JEE, just because they want to get a 'x' amount of package. There should be entrance exam related to engineering (aptitude) only for upcoming engineers. There profile should be taken into account. This way India can produce Engineers, not just CS, but core also who can contribute to India's growth.

Let me counter you(I respect you from my ♥) Arg1: system of iit is not very fair as those who are very poor can’t afford top coachings.. and those who are rich can afford top coaching.. although I agree it’s near fair. Clarity is present. Arg 2: System of iit dosent judge you as an individual rather everything is based on a single exam. THIS IS NOT THE CASE WITH ANY FOREIGN UNIV. they ask you for essays, extracurricular(like olympiads which take effort) , SAT-ACT, AP’s …, 9/10/11/12 marks.. all this tells that this whole process is not based on single exam. Arg 3: Some of these univ does grant admission to r son of rich people as they are private and has to cover their expenses of giving scholarships to financially weak student(need based/blind) and to maintain their world class infrastructure. Arg 4: 100% Scholorship is provided and you can accommodate their by taking loan from mit bank and net cost gets to 7-8 lakh and 5-6 lakh in any Iit.. although I agree very poor student wouldn’t be able to manage Arg 5: oh my god this arg is completely wrong.. people out of Indian and very acceptable in nature.. you can understand at when Indian people can go to us and become CEO of their company… much example is not present in Indian.. religion politics is too much.. like us people are too liberal.. Further mit is ranked 1 and no Iit is even under 150 rank telling the diff.. mit believes in making student brilliant Iit believes in taking them

This video reminded me of the brain drain video that bhaiya made a few months ago. "Western culture is much better than Indian" is by far the biggest bs I have ever heard. The Indian Education System may be a little weaker than the rest of the world, but every country's education system has its own advantages and disadvantages. Rather than slamming the education system as it is, or running away from it, let's accept the reality and try to improve it by making India the best. Hats off to you bhaiya for such an informative video

Before believing anyone else blindly, go do the research yourself. You will be surprised to see how far ahead mit students really are. Students from those world class universities know real problem solving skills. They are often the ones who move things forward (because thats the way they are taught). None of the courses in those institutions are taught without teaching the relevance of that course in tackling real world problems. They shape leaders. (Unlike iit where the sole intention is to make you an employee of a foreign based tech giant) P.S. you would hardly see any mit student ranting like him without having the support of any data/statistics. He is talking this way probably out of a frustration of not being able to crack mit himself.

It's not about problem solving. Problem solving can be done from any place in the world. It's about glamour. To stay in the country that is sole superpower. There is also the angle of rasicism. Moral of the story: in other country the person is an outsider.
