Sorry for the shamless self-promo, but if you'd like an SAT/ACT tutor or college application/essay help, here is the google form with information: forms.gle/xXM9jdcDcZ7hqc7s6 I have been tutoring test prep formally for ~3 years now and informally for longer. My student on average improve SAT by ~200 points by the time they're done with me. I try not to waste any of your time/money by spending the majority of the time on direct instruction instead of asking you to do work (that you could do at home in your own time). I also try my best to help you get your goal score in as little sessions as possible! Thank you thank you darlings ❤

Hi matthew, thank you so much, I really appreciate it! I will be posting more day in the life videos soon. And I'm happy to do a campus tour as well. Right now, since its winter, the campus looks kinda dreary so im waiting until spring comes and it doesn't look so dead LOL

How cooperative would you say the culture is? I applied for this admission cycle, and while I am probably not getting in, JHU would be one of my top schools to go to if I am accepted. I am just worried that it will be an uncooperative “every man for himself” sort of environment, which I could survive in, but will definitely factor into my consideration of this vs other schools

i like the AQUARIUM, which is pretty funny because i used to be terrified of fish but i honestly think the aquarium is so fascinating, im getting over it. You can get a discount Friday after 5 pm for half off OR you can buy a yearly membership and go unlimited. Good luck and let me know if you need anything!

how would you say the mental health/mood is on campus? jhu has been ranked (arbitrary, lol) as having the most depressed student body so what's your insight?
@caseyjang9 ай бұрын
That's hilarious we joke about it a lot LOL. I don't know how it is compared to other places cuz I haven't been to other schools (obviously). My thoughts are that it is mostly self-induced mental health problems and not necessarily hopkins-induced ones (I think?). We have longer fall break than most schools for mental health reasons, very rarely are professors deliberately mean, student disability services for mental health is very flexible/accomodating. BUT we don't have that much school spirit compared to some school -> arguably less sense of community and that could contribute to it. Lots of very ambitious people + grade deflation (compared to other T10-20 schools at least from what I heard) = potential recipe for mental health problems. I think regardless of what college you go to, mental health is really mostly dependent on you unless there are structural issues with the school i.e. racist, unsupportive environment, mean mean professors etc. Do u want me to make a video on it weighing the pros and cons?

I am planning on applying to be premed at JHU for undergrad as well, but I am wondering if it is worth it since I will most likely be around $200k in debt just after undergrad before medical school since the tuition alone at JHU is $60k. Are you planning on going to medical school as well, how are you able to get around the student debt? Do you recommend any scholarships?
@caseyjang3 ай бұрын
200k in debt is NOT worth it by any means holy shit, but if you're an US citizen, you should be able to get financial aid so I don't think you'll need to be in debt. There aren't really any scholarships that you can apply. There's one that they consider every admitted student for called the Hodson Scholar, but very very few people get it.
@yuyuefloyd3 ай бұрын
@@caseyjang Thank you for the reply! I actually did more research and filled out the Hopkins MyinTuition college cost estimator and it's definitely not anywhere around $200k in debt. Hopefully I can get scholarships but we'll see!! JHU BME is my dream program and I hope I can also study premed there next year!! BTW thank you so much for your videos!

You do not have enough experience to select right classes. How does JHU help in the case?
@caseyjang6 ай бұрын
You have academic advisors, major advisors, you can ask upper classmen, you can read about it online, on the Hopkins websites etc.

Great video! How is the mental life there, and how is the gym?
@caseyjang14 күн бұрын
Mental life is what you make of it. Some people are depressed, some are not. It is just the way life goes, but I would argue that some schools probably have a more fun culture than ours (i.e. parties, sport games etc.). Gym is good! It was newly built maybe a year or two ago? So all the equipment is shiny and new

Are you looking for help from start to finish? (i.e. brainstorming, rough draft, second draft, final draft so this would require zoom/google meet sessions) Or are you looking for one-off essay edit? (i.e. you send me an already written doc, I write comments on the side and then write a paragraph at the end with my thoughts). It depends on that

Is the campus safe?
@caseyjang8 ай бұрын
that's funny. campus is definitely more safe, but just in general, Baltimore is not the best. We have a lot of security and there are things like the Blue Jay Shuttle service that takes you to places from 6 pm to 2 am so you don't have to walk, but there is still crime sometimes cuz its ~baltimore~!
