Just to correct you, 63% are Malaysian Malays, 4% are other indigenous people in Borneo (Sabah & Sarawak) and aborigines (Orang Asli/Asal) in Peninsular Malaysia, 24% are Malaysian Chinese (not Chinese Malays) and 7% are Malaysian Indian (not Indian Malays). Malay is a race not a nationality but Malaysian is a nationality regardless of races.. Similar like Britain. British Asian, British African, etc.

Another facts is that the non-Malay indigenous people tend to group themselves as "Orang Asal" or "the original people" mainly because the constitution stated that a Malay MUST be muslim whereas many non-Malay indigenous people especially those from Sarawak are not muslims.... so, based on the constitution they can't be called malay.

Just imagine that when a big part of the society are quite well off and less stress, no one really bother to do crazy things. I grew up with western minds and planning to migrate to the US for work but after many overseas jobs I decided against and stayed in Malaysia and I saw dozens of my colleagues who migrated to AU, NZ, FR ,US and UK all returned after months to a year and it became a joke whenever any saying goodbye to migrate and me telling others they'll be back.
