After a whole month living off grid in a tiny cabin, I gotta be honest with myself. I need a change. One year went by since I started my remote self employed journey, it's really been a tremendous amount of worrying, and work. Despite a constant high level of stress, I was actually doing pretty okay.
Until I realised my savings weren’t enough for me to live anymore.
I could decide to live in the raw, with very little money. This idea's been running in my mind for a while, and I finally came to an agreement with my desires.
I'm not interested in making thousands of dollars. However, I do want to be able to build my dream life. To buy a house and a land of my own. To discover the world. To please the people I love.
My current financial situation is beyond stressful, but I refuse to get caught by my fear. I won't go and find a job I hate, just so I can afford to live.
I will do everything it takes to be financially... Free.

The big problem seems to be the governments and financial elites control and exploitation. Things could be a lot simpler while still maintaining a lot of the comforts and conveniences of our modern world if the majority of people were not spending their whole life chasing a penny to make someone else a dollar while those who have the dollars are exploiting everything they can to get more. Essentially we need a more egalitarian naturalist society.

I am 33 years old, and finally paid off all my debt. Debt from over a decade of trying as hard as I could to be "normal" and be a part of this insatiable consumer world. I gave up last year. I finally got sober, I relocated, I downsized. I own nothing of value now. I am saving money to buy the least expensive house possible in the country and I will re-align my working life to better fit a life of societal rejection. I will no longer live the rat race. Over half my life spent trying to please others, making choices and decision to appease others. All vanity. I will not live like this anymore. 8 months sober, debt free, and saving for a better, more simple, life. I applaud your efforts. I will be watching.

I tried moving out west in the United States to try to see if I could living off the grid for a while. I did a lot of hiking and forestry and I realized just how difficult it can be to survive in environments that are not developed. I think what’s important is that you embrace the learning experiences you have when you’re young so you can appreciate the quality of life you have when you’re older. The modern world world is many things, but it isn’t all bad. I think the more I denied myself modern amenities the more I understood the concept of gratitude on a deeper level. To come home from 9 days in the wilderness and flick on a light switch and sleep in a bed was a blessing.

Off the grid doesn’t mean without amenities. Off the grid means without utility-supplied amenities. Electricity from batteries and on-site renewables. Heat from firewood. Water from a well and rainwater harvester. Sewage from a septic system or even a composting/incinerating toilet. And now, thanks to LEO constellations, quality internet from a satellite is feasible to be the only utility-supplied amenity and keep yourself fully connected. None of these are impossible, and none of them are too much to ask for. My grandparents have been doing all of that, minus the electricity which is provided by the utility service, for decades. My family’s been the same way for 8 years now. We have well water on a very good vein, and it’s so purely filtered from all the crud I can’t drink City water anymore. We have septic that gets drained as needed just fine. We have a TV, we have entertainment and plenty of stuff to do. These lifestyles are often even more enjoyable than typical “modern” life. Wake up, get ready, go to work, go home, do either nothing or errands for 6 hours from M-F, and then do stuff on the weekend. That’s it. Off grid, you may do the same, but, if you’re savvy enough you can afford it just fine on a part time job and then maybe have a side income or a few. You have game nights with family regularly, you eat together at the table, you have engaging chores that you reap the rewards of and can hold in your hand. I promise it’s better. I’m working on moving to a city, but solely for the economy opportunities. I just want to save a bunch of money to put a great down payment on a great piece of mountain acreage. But believe that I’ll always be a forest man, and I love that.

How To Live In Harmony With Nature And Reduce Pollution 1. Many Production Which We Do Not Need Actually For Human Beings Has To Be Stopped We manufacture so many products and it is creating pollution. So if we minimise our products, pollution would be less. We produce so many things which we do not need, like cold drinks, leather products, potato wafers, chips, fruit juices, chocolates, biscuits, pickles, ice creams, etc. Cold drinks, fruit juices, pickles, ice creams, etc. Should be cooked at home only. If we stopped producing this things which are not required for humans, so much pollution could be reduced. If we colour the clothes pollution occurs. So if we don't colour our clothes, the pollution resulting from colouring the clothes can be stopped. Let everything remain in white natural colour. 2. We Should Cook Foods In Its Natural Form We can cook rice and wheat in our homes and eat it. Rice and Wheat is produced in farms. Then it is packed and transported to big warehouses, then wholesalers buy from them and supply to retail shops. But if a manufacturing company makes bread from rice and wheat, then to make bread a manufacturing company has to be set up, machines and working staffs are needed. When a company is built many other things are also needed. Then at last a plastic pack is required to pack the breads. So if we start cooking eatable things in its natural form then we do not need many companies like bread manufacturing company, tomato ketchup, noodles, fruit jam, pizza, burger, etc., the things required for the company and the plastic pack, paper box pack and glass bottles. If done like this, so many companies will not be required and hence less pollution for the world. Also we could save our money like this. If you buy a packet of bread, it would cost you more money than if you cook wheat and rice in home. Previously before industrial revolution, we didn't have technology, but our foods were rich with nutrients. Now we have technology, but technology is polluting our foods and our foods are not rich with nutrients, and because of that also we have health problems. If this is done, then many jobs would be lost. For that many peoples should do farming and they should be given loans if they do not have enough money to start farming on their own. Food, Medicines, Surgeries and Education's should be made free to the world till the world settles down with farming. After that food, medicines, surgeries and education's should be stopped free to the world. Many people should study botany subject so that they have knowledge of plants and they should do farming. Is their any another solution, that humans won't lose jobs and also pollution would decrease. Humans have to take this step certainly instead of going on polluting the earth, making wildlife extinct and also mass extinctions of humans in future. 3. Electricity Pollution We create electricity from many types of sources like coal, water, etc., but it creates pollution. If electricity created from windmill and solar energy then no pollution occurs in the creation process. But still to manufacture windmill and solar machines pollution would occur. As I previously said that if we shut down many manufacturing companies which are producing things which are not needed for humans, then the world would not require so much electricity. If less electricity required, then less pollution generated. 4. Could We Stop Drinking Cow's and Buffalo's Milk Whatever vitamins and nutrients we get from milk, if we can get it from other eatable things, then we can stop drinking cow's and buffalo's milk. As milk has to be packed in glass bottles and plastic packs and then transported to places. All of this can be stopped. For infants whose mother's have died or mother's who cannot breast feed their infants, only for them cow's and buffalo's milk should be given. We use milk in tea and coffee. Instead of milk we must use lime with tea and coffee or just plain tea and coffee. A lime should be cut into a few pieces and cooked with tea and coffee or something else can be used instead of lime. 5. How Much Should Be The World's Population Every place should have a single house. No buildings, everything ground floor. If we do this and the whole lands of our planet earth would be occupied one day with homes, farms, forests, schools, hospitals, etc., then we would come to know how much our planet earth can have maximum population. Once the population is determined, then we have to maintain that population. For example if our earth can have a population of 10 billion peoples, then when the population reaches 10 billion, then everyone should have only one child till the population reaches 9 billion peoples. As if we have only one child then the population decreases. When population is 9 billion peoples, then everyone should have 2 children's till the population reaches 10 billion peoples. After that again we should have only one child. In this way population can be maintained.

This last year I did it. I moved from city life to Montana. Bought my own off grid property. Had refurbished a schoolbus into a tiny home & drove it up the mountain, cleared a spot for it. It’s not all roses and sunshine, though. I was snowed in for 4 months. It’s almost May and we had more snow today. 1:40am, and relaxing in front of the fire with my cat on my lap...but I’m about to go out in freezing weather to chop some more firewood. 😂 It’s amazing though. No more rent checks. I’ll mill my own wood from my property for a cabin. And the winters are amazing, if not downright cold (-40). But I chose a place that’s cold. You all choose a place that speaks to you. Do it. Just. Do. It.

@@wakeup6910 I watched folks retire to mt property. They worked hard to build up the retirement property. But the reality of living on a mt, where a lot of the time the access was only 4WD. Town was miles away, medical care FARTHER. Gathering wood to make it thru a rocky mt winter was seriously hard work. They fought the wildlife for their meager crops, growing season was short. Wildfires in the West are now a season, not just a few scattered instances. Most HAD to sell out as they aged out cuz it was a grueling existence, and their bodies needed care. It was a wake up call for us, the youngest ones of the community. It was their dream but unsustainable in most scenarios. Then came the CA crowd, who thot of the mts as suburbia and wanted HOA's on rural WILD mt property. They brought $$$ and wrong thinking, and basically KILLED off a fragile environment. Wretched types that can't live in harmony with anyone or anything!!!

Wow, that hit really close to my heart. I also quit my job a year ago to renovate an old rural house and to figure out how to authentically contribute to the world without working a job. But boy did I underestimate the existential dread! And to make matters worse, I also vastly underestimated the time, money and effort I‘d need to put into renovating. It’s been a year, and I didn’t even start on doing anything but renovating. That said, I‘m closer to my dream home than ever, and I can’t wait to finally come to creating and contributing. It’s been really heart-warming to see another gentle, independent soul going through similar struggles and who’s not giving up but prevailing.

Hi Aubrey.. Hi "Verdant Vanilla". I just felt I wanted to point out to you both that the financial system is not broken, in any way. It is purposely designed to do what it does, and it does it very effectively.. The entire "financial" system is a 100% fraud and crime. It is a debt based system of counterfeiting "money", which is no money. Only silver and gold are money, and they have been the only money for many thousands of years. The "money" that all people are made to slave their lives away for, is counterfeit fiat currency. Fiat currency is no money, but so long as the global populace continues to believe it is money, so long will the global populace continue to sacrifice their time, their energy, and their freedom, their and each other's entire lives, for it. As I said, all fiat currencies are counterfeited by the globalist cabal central banking mafia, and their "governments". This the slight of hand through which the privately owned central banking mafia, creates "National debts". The privately owned Rothschild & cronies central banking syndicate counterfeits the numbers, which are then swapped with the "governments", that they fund and control, and through this method of slight of hand all the counterfeit fiat currency becomes national debt. Now the "governments" can tax all peoples for repayment of the "national" debts, but obviously these debts can never be repaid, without creating more "national" debts in the process, for, after all, ALL fiat currency is counterfeit out of thin air, for free and out of nothing, as debts to the people. The only way for this swindle and crime to end, is for all people around the world to recognize the fraud that they themselves commit on themselves and on each other, and to stop doing it any further. There's a lot more to tell, but I must stop myself from writing a book here..

I understand where you are coming from. I'm a creative as well. But that creativity needs to result in tangible things that have value to others, as well as being fulfilling to us. Hello, I started over at your age with my 13 yr. old son. I bought an old 1969 mobile home that had been empty for 3 years. I paid 20,000 cash. Basically all I had. We did what we could and now 12 years later I have my tiny dream home. I have a cute little yard and a deck. I grow veggies in the summer. I do live in a town but close to the center so not in woods BUT my yard is my oasis and my cost of living is super low. I can live on 1000.00 a month. My son is now grown and bought a home 2 mobiles down from me along with 2 more of my children (I have 7 all grown) So now we have 4 homes in this park and I am now President of the park! Never give up. I didn't and I am so happy my hard work paid off. I sell paintings, restore dolls and worked as a nanny in the Indian community for 25 years. Now I am retired. Best of luck to you :)

Hi! Wow I have so much in common. 12 years ago I moved (not off grid) but to a tiny beach town in a third world country. As opposed to also have been a massage therapist at a 5 star spa. I spent 12 amazing years living at the foot of mountains right on the beach. I wasn't completely isolated... there was a tiny community. But life was peace and nature. Finally after 12 years I decided to rejoin society because I have 2 small children who just needed a little more in life than I could offer in that town. Anyways your videos are so peaceful to watch. Wishing you so much peace and synchronicity. Bonne chance!

I honestly believe what we're all looking for is balance. And that is a forever changing scale for all of us. I saw the titles of your other videos, about loneliness, cold, endometriosis, surrendering, and financial struggles. That, what you're experiencing in my opinion isn't freedom. Those who live the rat race have similar feelings, thoughts, scares and experiences. We're human. We're not free in this world, only, and sometimes, in the mind. It's all about balance. Work parttime, do what you love in the other hours, passion projects. Work 6 months on & off & travel. Work full-time and go somewhere every other weekend. We can always change things up. It's our lives, nothing is permanent. We all have to put in some type of effort to sustain a living, for ourselves, our family, for society- our neighbours. It's up to you to balance it out.

I think that if we all sat down and searched our souls we would chose to be free and self-sufficient in our livelihood and our homes. I think the motivating factor as to why we cling to the status quo is fear. It takes courage and hard work and being uncomfortable a lot of the time in order to go against the grain.

When I was in my late 30s, I started from scratch and got an education as a nurse (RN). I had 2 little girls and they were my motivation. I took out student loans and worked my butt off. It was very hard but it gave me a career with a living wage. I’m now in my 60s. Still working but with a little house in the country. It has an in-law apartment which covers my mortgage. I would have loved to have had an off-grid life but it wouldn’t have worked for me. Life rarely turns out as we had wished. Yet I’m thankful for my wonderful daughters and grandchildren. I am blessed and wish you a blessed and fulfilling life.

I agree Go Gr. As a young person I knew my career wants, I volunteered in a zillion places to get more experience leading into that area, managed a horse farm on the side and moved out west to see new places with the career. I think doing all that when you are young helps you be more content if the marriage fails and you have kids to raise on your own. You do what you have to do and I wouldn't change the experience. I try to find a balance in my older years of job and urban homestead type living. Just do the best you can! Make your memories. So many young people have great ideas to make it all possible, but I love my era too. They are both great. Thanks! Take care!

I believe this life was designed for hardship in order to teach us the values of what really matters. One thing is for certain and that is that there is not one human being on this planet that lives a life without struggling. It is those very struggles that make us stronger and more capable of dealing with life. We can teach others what we have learned if we are not self focused. There is much peace in not focusing on ourselves only. God bless you child.

Hi! In your 20s you are just a child, so don't be terrified or cry- you make as much mistakes as you can and get your experience for the adult life. You will make your conclusions in your 30s and you will know what is yours. Just live as your soul calls you to live. And in my 30s I have learned that in any bad situation I will survive, I trust my inner self, It never gave me up! Ever. I always had food if I was starving and asked myself what can I do... I always had place to sleep when I needed... And I always had a friend in me)))) Good luck and be brave! Life is great and always will be.

I had nothing but a desire I had lost everything I owned and started again with just a hammer a broken welder and a dream. I own my land and buildings all my tools I have made or rebuilt built my buildings from the earth and planted my garden. I few years ago I fell ill and have not been able to do the work I once did. I often imagine groups of 10, 20, 50 people coming together buying land and living on self sufficient little communities all around the world. People struggle alone. Not only to physically survive, but most of all also mentally and emotionally, with all the stress and anxiety that a big change comes with. Becoming totally self-conscious, self-aware, self-reliant and self-sufficient is a really hard and challenging thing to do. Specially if you do it all alone. People are not alone in their struggles. There are millions of people around the world going through the same pain, the same heartache, feeling as lost and broken as anybody can be. People should come together and help build each other up, support each other, care for one another. This is what life is all about!

My value is not defined by my achievements and perfection. I am now choosing to offer what I can to the world. And I hope I will leave it a teeny bit better just by breathing into my fears and stepping one step forward.

Ya, I feel like living far away from the big cities and living a simpler life will be less stressing. Not 100% stress free. But a healthier option for overall mental and emotional well being.

Hi Verdant. I just discovered your channel today. You are such a profound, introspective and good natured person. Just remember that you are enough as you are in every moment and in whatever you are doing. You are courageous for havig taken that leap of faith to live off grid. Don't be hard on yourself. You will find your way.. . You have many manual skills and are very articulate. You are a healer too. You might even write a book someday. A book on self reflection.. Maybe a children's book too... Its a process. Nothing comes automatically. Wishing you the best .

I think a children's book would be great, something empowering. I love stories and in a strange way, the style of video and the way you tell the story almost feels like a fairy tale, like a girl living and surviving in the wilderness, taking care of herself, building and creating, but living freely in and connected to nature. Yes, I'm kind of romanticizing and this is your life and it can be a struggle, especially if you are not sure how long you can keep going on like this. But there aren't enough stories for or about girls and young women who are strong and resilient.

Doing the same in August.💖🌱🌱🌱🌱 Greed goes down in the end. You are very blessed. Be happy amd greatful that you are free. You inspire me and other. Thank ypu for sharing. 😊👋🌻 The Native Americans said that it wouldn't work. They didn't place a $ on people heads, they had so they could give, and lived in nature. Tribes work as societies don't. Materialism, consumerism, and massive egos don't work. They make up a sick society. I am happy to see more and more people waking up!💖💞

I wish the whole world would initiate a basic income to people. Let people pursue passions and live the life they want. No longer being tied to a job just to survive. Jobs should be a means to earn more if you want, it should be a choice. Too many jobs care about the bottom line, they treat workers badly, exploit many, and pay as little as possible where people can barely afford the basics. I want to live in a world where people are happier and able to work on things they love and don't have to worry about how they will survive month to month.

Knowing those greedy cooperations, they would just raise prices if everyone got universal basic income and force people into slave labour anyway.

@bina nocht I agree so much and I get frustrated when people don’t see this and go “oh wow yes we want universal basic income” and I’m like “at what price and how do we see it’s not one and the same with the old stuff?” Then I take a big breath and remember we are the timeline we choose to feed. Feeding consciously the timeline where I’m able to go 100% off the grid and meet with other likeminded people and we share and live in harmony while staying individually full filled and self-expressed (cause also the tribe thing can be very imbalanced and make people lose individual identity into the group for the sake of resources so we gotta be mindful of that, too) 🍀✨

You want to be owned? Because that is what your "dream" is. You want to pursue your passion, go do it. You have a choice, you want to be taken care of, go screw yourself up,be disabled, lose your self respect. Then you'll be taken care of

Me too. From Chicago to Havana, Illinois, "downriver"...I moved from living on the 51st floor in downtown Chicago on the Chicago River for 20 years, and 27 total in Chicago, and in 2021 moved along the Illinois River and bought a house near the Emiquon National Wildlife Refuge. This town, Havana, is so beautiful and affordable. I am living a verson of what you decided to do, too.
