Hi , yes you have to write an NBT test in order to get into the commerce faculty . You will need to write both the maths and English components.

ouuuuuuu that's a tough one ! To be honest , there are more things I have learnt since starting university and most courses aren't really numbers related . There is a lot more theory I didn't anticipate . Now I am not a huge fan of theory . Accounting for me is a stepping stone to the other things I want in life so there's less pressure on me to follow the traditional path What I will say about medicine , it requires purpose . You need to have the desire for it . A lot of people I know who are in medicine can conquer it because they know what it is they want and why. So that is what I would advise you to do . write down reasons for each . Write how you want your life to pan out , for me accounting is flexible and that's what I love most about it.

Hi, when i apply for it at uct. Do i choose the option of "advanced diploma in accounting"?

Hi , It would depend on where you are in your university journey . If you have already done Bcom General Accounting , then you may apply for the advanced diploma . However , if you are coming from matric or you have taken a gap year , you must apply for Bcom Financial Accounting . I hope this helps

Either one is okay . During orientation , you will be given the opportunity to ask the lecturers all the questions you need . They will help you choose which one you want and which one is the best for you

Hey,what level do u need in maths grade 12 to enroll to this profession and do u also need that level in grade 11 final

I kinda forgot what the levels were but in percentage form , you need about 60+ to be considered . However , a 70+ gives you a greater chances of getting into the degree . All the best ! I can’t wait to hear more about your journey

@@amahle23 Hi Amahle! Either one will get you to become a CA(SA) BBusSc just contains additional finance courses which makes the degree 4 years in total Bcom is the most direct and shortest way to Ca(SA)

Hi Mmatlou! So UCT has two types of Commerce degrees , Bcom and BBusSc. Bcom is a 3 year degree and then you will do your PGDA. BBusSc is a four year degree because you will be doing additional finance courses. Afterwards you will do your PFDA Now the BBusSc is inclusive of honours in finance . If you want the direct route into CA(SA) Bcom is the quickest way however BBusSc is beneficial if you would like to explore more in finance . The total year for Bcom and PGDA is a minimum of 4 years The total years for BBusSc and PGDA is a minimum of 5 years Both are incredibly great ! Whichever one you choose , you will have all the opportunities in the world .
