Amtrak has been great. Until now. Within 2 minutes of getting on the Amtrak Palmetto to Savannah, I was THREATENED by an Amtrak Employee, which is why Why I'd AVOID Amtrak At All Costs. As someone who has been on so many Amtrak trains, I don’t think I could give you an accurate ballpark, and I film for myself on practically all of them, I have only ever been told not to film once, by the cafe car attendant. I think you landed in a 1/100 experience with that conductor. Amtrak is usually way more friendly than airlines, way cheaper, way easier to travel, and so many other things. I’m sorry that you guys didn’t have the best experience, but I do hope you will give them another try, as they are a much better way to travel.

I have taken a 13 hr train ride from Sacramento to Albany OR and I did coach on the way up and business class on the way down. The train was almost full on the way up. We were given assigned seating. Even though there were a few empty rows I was not allowed to change seats and was placed next to someone and when you leave Sac at 11pm, sleep is desired. I couldn't get comfy. I ended up sneaking to an empty row to get some sort of sleep. I had asked if I could change to that row and was told no. So on my way down I did business class. I thought it was so much better. It was not as crowded and got a row to my self. It was a much better experience.

Sounded like the bully conductor was worried about u filming him because of his aggressiveness. And it sounds like he keeps getting away with that behaviour. Well getting his name and emailing Amtrak about the issue wouldn’t be such a loss because it’s more likely to end up in this employee’s HR file which would be a good thing. But it was still another invigorating adventure! 🍻

@@LyfeUntethered Yes you two should definitely complain with an email and even better a snail letter copying as many Amtrak officials on up to the head poopah. You would be providing a needed public service. I have watched countless Amtrak videos and no one, not anyone, has been mistreated and threatened like you two. You did complain to the conductor and I bet the attendant has a short career.

WTF 🤬??? You should have taken a photo of him and sent it to Amtrak Headquarters. Just who the heck does he think he is basically bullying a passenger (you)!! Not acceptable and if Amtrak doesn't do something about that employee's behavior & any employees like him means I'll never get another sleeping room on Amtrak again!!! It is. I used to ride Metro North commuter trains for many years and am lucky enough now to have an Amtrak train that gets me to work in time. Night and day.

OMG! I am sorry you had to go though this stressed time! That attendant needs to be reported! (See many people are saying conductor, they only work part of the route, the attendant rides the whole route). I've never had that issue before with filming..

I mean, you know, digital film! I've actually struggled with the word "filmed" for a long time. I worked in the entertainment industry for 18 years and everything I worked on was recorded digitally, but people would say "film". If you say "record" it could mean just audio. "Video'd" sounds dumb. Video taped is wrong, obvioulsy. "Digitally recorded" could also be audio. "Video Recorded"? Meh. I finally - after YEARS of fighting it - just say "filmed". But I'm open if you have a better single word! Please share!

Next time if you are lucky take a train ride from Havana to Santiago by train. It is the most rinky dink and hard riding train that you will will ever experience, In Havana,Cuba trucks habe been converted into buses and eon Santiago the taxi is horse and carriage except for small European cars imported from the then Soviet Union and Communist Eastern European countries.

Came here after my first and I hope last amtrack experience. I hope I had watched this video prior to my trip. I would have gladly let the ticket go to waste than go thru the nightmare of 36 hours of the moving bat crazy service staff. The train , infra etc is ok. But the staff has gone wonky I think. Must be a labor union thingy. No one expecting a decent service must use Amtrak. Stay away.

Recently, I have found that people who have an aversion to having their picture taken have something to hide. Could this Amtrak employee have been at the January 6 insurrection? If you remember what they look like, go to the FBI’s most wanted pictures and see if they’re there. It might be worth $1000 to you.

Interesting. Have always had great experiences on the train other than delayed.. Is polite people. Absolutely lawful to video tape in public, On amtrak anytime. Just some employee having a bad day... Or just a staunch liberal/Democrat that's not big on laws. Freedom of speech, Freedom of own opinion or thoughts.etc.
