I think "enjoying the journey" is certainly a big part of One Piece. I think the other big part however is "Reaching for your dreams". Living in the moment and enjoying it is important, but the reason for taking the journey to begin with and your GOAL is your dreams. You have to be able to dream and let yourself strive for something that means a lot to you. Its something that lights a fire in Luffy when he sees others living for their dreams.

I'm glad you're not skipping any arcs/filler and are just taking your time with it. Pretty much every arc has something important and always has world building and important characters you can miss out on or be brought up later. Also not really a spoiler but the next arc before water 7 called Long ring Long Land gets skipped a lot has some crazy stuff too people miss out on. I love how Luffy was just like Shanks back in the first arc where he didn't fight back and only until his new friend Cricket and his crew were hurt he stepped into action just like Shanks saving Luffy. So many damn good moments in this arc my favorite being the beautiful yet tragic bromance backstory. Also I never thought about it but I agree with what you said that the King would have just wanted to take the gold and things could have been worse for them. And finally the the Luffy ringing the bell for Cricket was chefs kiss. Also Enerus face was priceless.

I just finished skypiea today in the manga! I loved the snake being so happy whenever the bell rang :') And I agree, robin in this arc was so great, she is one of my favourites for sure!!

You are correct. One Piece is all about the Journey. The Adventure. NOT the destination. Don't worry about getting caught up. Go at your own pace. You'll get there when you get there. Your only job is to enjoy the ride.

I didn’t realize people were telling you to skip the arc. Like others have probably told you, there are parts in this arc that set up stuff for things down the future so regardless of how good or bad this arc was, it was important to watch it but glad you enjoyed it. This arc had its moments but it wasn’t my favourite. The one after this which is Water 7/Ennis Lobby is absolutely up to this day one of my favourite arcs in One Piece and I hope you enjoy it. Great review.

Luffy did what Shanks did to the mountain bandits back at his hometown (he did not fight back). Luffy did not fight back because Luffy has no reason to do so because Bellamy is not going against Luffy and Zoro’s dreams due to Bellamy and his gang not having a dream of their own or given up believing in dreams; in addition, Luffy and Zoro did not fight back because Bellamy is not hurting Luffy’s friends.

Skypiea takes One Piece's world-building to a whole new level. It has good mystery and backstory and introduces a cool logia power and neat design for Enel. It also extends the lore around Roger's adventures and sets up the water 7 arc too. We also get heartwarming slice-of-life adventure-type episodes with the gang. You feel like a part of the crew. The comedy also keeps the energy up. The only downsides are some fights are not too satisfying. The ending of Enel's fight especially with Enel just floating off into the moon. The feeling of victory is ruined a little with that. But overall good arc in my eyes.

That's why you should read manga. You are missing on side stories that anime sometimes adapts as flashbacks, but does it poorly. And they have never adapted Enel's cover story. Enel goes to the Moon. Finds the history of the winged races. Also finds an army of automatas and has an encounter with Space Pirates.

all of one piece is important. not a single arc is just “filler”- you literally need to read skypiea for future reasons (i’m caught up in the manga soooo) also there’s so many important scenes that are emotionally important… enel? nah he’s important. everything to do with robin? you literally can’t just skip skypiea 😭 anyone that does that are fake fans, if you’re going to start it, don’t just skip parts. Skipping skypiea is a crime like we literally first time seeing robin being part of the crew and also the story of noland and kalgara is so beautiful and tragic and Oda is the master of foreshadowing even if something seems a lil off and unimportant is actually very important and will make sense later on so skipping any arc is actually missing some piece that might be important in future arcs Glad you enjoyed this arc and not skipped thanks for the video will wait patiently for the whole water7 saga
