Norway is very cold in winter and expensive. Having spent a month there I realise its ok for holiday but sterile and not very exciting. I love London though!

Earning 30000 Kr in Norway, I think it's better to earn 1200 Euros and living in Spain, Norway is so expensive for those kind of salaries.

Different people have different needs. For some people it is about money, for others it is about nature, climate… There are so many difference between countries in the world and each has its own benefits and drawbacks. So I agree with you. First try to understand your needs and values, and then find right place to be happy. I know many people who left Norway just because it is not right for them…

It's okay if you wanna take a break. It's your channel. you can upload whenever you want. ;) I just want to ask a question about PhD in Norway. I'm currently doing my master's in full research, which means I don't have class, so I don't have any credit taken. But I saw all the PhD advertisements that stated need 120 credits, etc. Do you know if any stories or friends successfully furthered PhD from master's in fully research?
@IvannasNorskLife2 жыл бұрын
Hi. 120 credits required is a must in Norway and I don’t know anyone who did master’s in fully research and is a PhD in Norwegian university.

With only master's degree and not knowing Norwegian, you can apply for Assistant Professor at Norwegian university. Or apply for a PhD position

Iva,well comback. Is it possible for woman who joins the university as a phd student to take her family (husband & chidren and old mother) with her to Norway?Can her husband ( with MSC degree) get a job there?
@IvannasNorskLife2 жыл бұрын
The salary of a PhD candidate (not a student but employee in Norwegian university), should be enough to apply for family immigration visa in Norway. With husband and a child is straight forward, but to bring her mum will be challenging. First of all, income only from one person will not be enough to cover expenses for so many people. In Norway, it is very strict with the requirements to bring your man or dad to live with you in Norway. You need to document that your mum doesn’t have any relatives in the country of her citizenship. But to bring your husband and child, first you need to get your work visa, come to Norway, and then apply for family immigration visa. If family immigration visa is granted, then your husband can start searching for a job in Norway. You can check requirements here based on citizenship for each of you www.udi.no/en/want-to-apply/
