Why I Dislike the Gavril D Series!

The d series to me is like a first car, its definitely old, very basic, probably doesn't run all that well, and is just generally crap. But everyone loves it anyway because its your first car and it saw you through a difficult part of life for most people: growing up. It doesn't have to be good to be great you know? Tldr: d series crap but I love anyways

id say the abundance of parts is one of the greatest things about the d series. i hate it when you dont have a lot of part options in cars

Even in real life I prefer old, basic and sturdy vehicles like the D series as opposed to these modern rolling computerized "vehicles" that want to tell you how to drive them

The cluster of parts would be much less of a problem with better organization in the parts selector to condense the options, something I'd like the devs to focus on sometime. Having a lot of them IMO isn't inherently bad, I think customization is one of the best things the game has to offer and the D-Series delivers on that quite well. On that subject....I just don't really get the supposed lack of variety? The D-Series is the single most all-encompassing car in the game and its configs have a vast array of uses from racing to rock crawling to ambulance....-ing. It's got so many different sizes, performances, and parts so i'm rather confused on that area. It's just your opinion, so don't let me stop you from thinking what you want, but you maybe could've expanded upon yourself a little more.

By lack of variety, I meant looks wise. There's literally more mirrors than fascias. That's all.

Another thing that I could see about lack of variety is that most of the configs are just the same truck with different cab and bed sizes which could be condensed with a new vehicle selector. For example you select the base truck trim like a D25, then select an engine type like gas or diesel, cab and bed size, and finally standard or dually axles.

@@huell0785 That's regular for versatile cars like a 90's pickup as it is in real life, they come as their own separate variants for the general public and BeamNG configs aren't always going to be super different from each other, especially as the D-Series spans three different looks.

@@bentonchiez I'd argue the varying body sizes itself are much bigger in terms of variety for looks. Even then it's got a fair share of standard and premium trims across its three looks as well as different bodykits across its configs. Not to mention, IRL pickups from that time period don't always have a ton of different fascias either. I guess it could be improved, but not sure if its a weakness.

@@feamtortress2 yeah so it having that system that I mentioned, which is similar to speccing out a truck to your liking like in real life will help declutter the vehicle selector and maybe make the truck configs look a little more diverse since there aren’t as many similar configs shown.

The D-Series is good because it's simple, not all "ooh modern tech modern look at me". trucks shouldn't be huge, plastic and unreliable, and that's emphasized by the D-Series.

with all my d series mods I have over 200 configs and something around a bilion parts. its good when car has great customisations and amount of configs but hey over 150 configs is too much!

The d series can be pretty hard to drive after putting 40s on it but if it’s on stock tires it’s pretty easy to handle.

The configurator "chaos" is what makes it so good, with DFA pack and other mods, it allows for any truck style I want to be built, with almost any part I could imagine.

Cluster in parts, sure Config cluster could do a fix so it's more organized It being old is something I like, maybe you just want a different new truck simply As for skins, I don't personally use them Imo its good, just needs a organized parts selector, and I don't really use this truck or vanilla cars, but this is what I think Also I kinda want to tell you to work on your substitle timing, often I lacked the time to read the text and sometimes I barely noticed it before it went away lmao

I hate the gavril d series for a different reason im a gmc driver irl so my trucks are veary jumpy responsive and lively the gavril d series is anything but that. The gavril is slow in common sold configurations annoying generally fails at doing everything a truck needs to. It is reliable but its annoying slow painful and as it is useless beamng please make a counterpart to it.

@@bentonchiez what makes gmc trucks lively is there enthusiasm for the situations. They are never slow and if not watched youl find your self esspicaly in the gasoline models doing 90 after 286,000 miles and 22 years of age the 2001 pickup is still kicking although a little tired thanks to circumstances its in right now. I think if you were to point a finger at a gmcs enthusiasm youd put it on its acceleration as gmc trucks generally are not incredibly powerful as a whole. Another thing that also makes them so lively is there reliability one day youl recall taking them off the lot the next over 9 years of service at 330,000 miles being drug all across the country. That one was a 2013. We had a dodge too 2500 Cummins 2001 mechanically its in good to go condition the electronics have put it out of service for us permanently it could be worked on however unlike our gmcs which 9 out of 10 times drove to the shop this would break down in parking lots alot with no warning at all it also dident have that giddiup and go attitude the gmcs have either bad no but not the best but hell of alot better than its gasoline gmc counterpart when it came to hauling but the gmc is still in good to go shape aside from the brakes completely jacked. Thats what i can tell gmcs theres a mod to adapt the d series to 6.6 duramax let me tell you that is a much more enjoyable truck than the d series.

@@bentonchiez I do which i could kit the duramax in the mod for a manual as i much more prefer manuals but still it is real nice mod that perfectly catches the gmc in its entirety go test it out or you may have it already but that mod perfectly catches that liveliness the gmcs have.

You, me, they do not like BeamNG for the looks. Do we? We like it for its physics. Ultra realistic soft body physics. Guess what. The Gavril Pickup is the best soft body car in BeamNG. The most realistic. BeamNG would be another generic game about cars without its physics. Physics borrowed from Rigs of Rods.
