Why I don’t have a Luxury Wishlist this year & New Luxury buy rules!

Same for me clara! Held onto my classic flap for about a year because it was ‘classic’ but I never wanted to use it as I had grown tired of the quilting and cc logo. Sold it for double what I paid for it and never looked back!

What a refreshing video! It’s nice to see an influencer for a change to not be after the next thing. Truly how many things can one buy and enjoy? I have a few items on my listbut these have been carried over from year to year. I am never in a hurry to buy items bc I want to be sure that the item on my list is something I really want to have in my collection. Sometimes it can take a couple years or even longer for me to decide. I’m in the latter stages of buying luxury and at this point few things interest me. I think the social media hype of so many brands has also added to my culling my wishlist. I gravitate toward things that aren’t as well known.

I can’t agree with you anymore! I get influenced by people easily and have shopped many luxury items that I DID NOT need in the past year with FOMO on trends and price increases. I still love most of the pieces that I’ve got as they were not necessarily impulsive purchases, but am trying to see if I can buy things within my budget and manage my funds wisely. I still can’t wait to see items that you are going to buy this year within your rules as well as other great fashion/luxury contents!❣️

i totally feel this!! I stopped making wish lists because I definitely got sucked into crossing things off, and made some big mistakes imo. If I really want something, I'll know because I'll want it for two weeks+ and not get "bird brain" toward another shiny item. Also, these days, I have been prioritizing luxury travel more and those memories and pictures I will absolutely never get tired of :)

I'm just getting into the luxury world I haven't yet bought anything from my list. But I can see myself reaching where you are one day. I always like to have a plan of sorts to outline what I may spend money on eventually so I don't make redundant purchases but I see a time coming where most of my desires are met and my home and wardrobe feel complete - that's far in the future, by then I may have other interests, causes or people to consider putting my money towards. 💕 I'm glad you don't feel obligated to buy just because you have a platform that focuses on that topic. It IS possible to think for ourselves and have a level head even with all the shiny, pretty things on the market. Xxx

Isabelle, excellent points! It makes sense not to have a specific wishlist. Last year I had a wishlist of items I was seriously considering to get, I did not get some as other things I had not anticipated on made my heart sing (after thinking about them for awhile), were in budget and I love and I couldn't buy both my wishlist items from earlier in the year and non-wishlist items. I guess it depends on where everyone is at with luxury and budget but it's great you were able to get the items you wanted last year. I see Kat L's point about feeling OCD about getting items just to tick off on your wishlist. I have a wishlist for this year but it is carrying over a few items from last year; a Picotin 18 in a light green I have wanted since last year from the boutique, a Hermes scarf (double or single) in a vibrant colour way and pattern I love and/or a mini Kelly bracelet but I am in no rush for any of these things. Thanks Isabelle - also a bag lover here (lower budget tho. I stay typically in the Guccis, Saint Laurents), but after I got my Dior 30 Montaigne (the big size with blue oblique - which was my dream bag) 2 weeks ago, I felt a “purse peace” partially cuz I am so happy with my collection, but just the fact that the world economy SUCKS right now (I’m lucky, I can still make a pretty good wage) and we should all be more careful on what we spend $ on 😅

I do not have a wish list either. I concentrated on adding to my LV monogram travel items last year. I feel like you with my collection that I am blessed to have so many pieces I have wanted and love. I have noticed I have lots of canvas bags, so I might want to start looking at some light colors and I know I want a light pink bag but do not know what it will be. I did this in 2022! It was a good change. I ended up getting things that came out that i loved when I saw them. The van cleef magic sized necklace in malachite was not on my radar yet when I walked passed it I fell in love. Also, i noticed that I bought less with this approach as well. 😊

Good luck with your no wish list year. I know that works well for some people but not for others. I am one of the later. I need a wish list to keep myself self disciplined because for me no list means impulse buying and that’s not a good thing when I have a strict budget.

I plan on maybe adding 3 or 4 bags this year. But only one a high end bag. The others are luxury designer but not expensive bags. One a tote for work so I am looking at a longchamp because I have a designer tote and i am not really a tote girl. Another a red leather marc jacobs tote bag. A mcm WOC and a Speedy B25 damier ebene. That will probably not be until Christmas because I purchased the fossil sydney satchel that has the same look. Just to make sure that is a style I actually like.

Agreed. I told my Chanel SA that the price of the classic flap is no longer worth it for me. Would rather put that money into a vacation or updating my house. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m not planning on buying any bags this year, unless a Birkin 25 or Constance becomes available in a color I love. I think it’s great not to have a Wishlist. If you enjoy what you have without projecting forward you can have a much happier and fulfilled life. Because energetically “wanting” something can also subconsciously create a feeling of “lack”. I’m all for looking forward to things without attachment 👍👍
