This is why I don't hitchhike in Guatemala. After 9 hours of traveling, we finally arrived in Lanquín! We stayed at the famous backpacker hostel, Zephyr Lodge that has a beautiful infinity pool overlooking the valley and the mountains. We did an independent trip to the Guatemalan natural wonder of Semuc Champey which is a must see attraction of Guatemala if you're in Alta Verapaz! Semuc Champey is also on the gringo trail through Cantral America and most backpackers visit this site. The natural monument of Semuc Champey consists of many waterfalls and natural pools where you can swim in - a definite must do in Guatemala!
