The $150 free shipping is stupid. I had $66 worth of points to buy the $180 figure but I can only use $30 points because if I used all my point to get it at $120 it would still cost me $150 because now I have to pay for shipping because it’s now under $150.

I used to love TOM about 4 or 5 years ago when I first started getting into figure collecting. They always seemed to have some good figures in stock and -- while I never preordered anything myself, I never heard any complaints about crazy delays. You weren't limited by the amount of points you could use, which benefitted those of use who don't buy enough figures to make the membership worth it. They also usually had some decent figures in stock, no matter if it were scales or prize figures and shipping costs weren't crazy high. I broke up with TOM this year because I had two incidents happen. One was where they had a figure IN STOCK and I paid for the quickest shipping method (1-2 weeks). It took over three weeks for it to even leave their warehouse and another week in a half to arrive. This clearly wasn't a covid issue, given the time it took just to get a shipping label made and leave the warehouse. The second problem was that I preordered a figure back in October that was supposed to release in November. TOM delayed it, but that was fine because all of the other sites had also delayed it to December. HOWEVER, December rolled around, and all the other sites released it yet TOM continued to delay it. Again, and again, and again. It was on almost every figure site, either available, sold out, or pre-owned. Reviews and unboxing videos were popping up. When they delayed it again in March, that was the final straw and I was able to use my one time pass to cancel it (for people who don't know, if you've never canceled a preorder with them, you get a single time use to cancel a preorder). Preorder delays have apparently gotten really bad with TOM. I've seen numerous other people complaining about this specifically with TOM. Idk. Something changed with TOM over these last few years. Maybe they fell under different management or maybe they're just doing a more business approach that benefits them. Sadly, TOM won't be my first or second choice when it comes to buying figures. BigBadToyStore and Solaris Japan are personally my picks. AmiAmi is another good site I've heard about. You can find some good figures on Amazon, but if you're not careful, you can easily end up with a bootleg/fake. TOM used to be a decent site to use for people like myself who just wanted a few figures throughout the year. Sadly, that's not the case anymore and it sucks because they were the first site I used to get into this hobby.

Anyone noticed that after you upgraded from 3-months membership to the annual premium membership, the 3-months membership would be voided, AND the price of the figures in your cart jumps to full price?

I’m fine with the free shipping thing with Tom because my figures are well over 100 dollars but I hate how they are all sold out

Honestly, totally with you lol no point in buying a single figure from this site without free ship. I'm a bit deep into this rabbit hole so the tom premium comes into handy. Especially with orders on the higher end, saved myself quite a bit with the free shipping and the 'tom points'. Just wish they do some sort of higher cash back event tbh

One thing I believe you forgot to mention: Tokyo Otaku Mode "rewards" you with TOM points valued just above the subscription price every time your payment goes through. I also happen to have their website pulled up on a different tab when KZbin recommended this video...

Yes, I personally have done that but shipping gets you, if your figure isn’t over $150 you have to pay like $10 for shipping, I paid $11 for mine but it’s worth it I’ll say if you just want like one figure

To be honest I have only ever ordered 1 figure from this site, I got the trial for the membership and was able to get a figure that was sold out normally in other stores. The figure was like 25, and I ended up getting it for like 17, which is pretty good for me.

if you want to buy figures off amazon I recommend staying away from the expensive scale figures as many are counterfeit and you would think you are getting a good deal but you're just getting ripped off.

@@TuanNguyen-ej3jo I am unsure really, did you order it off amazon? for the most part if the order is not out for delivery you can make adjustments to your shipping address, once it is out for delivery it might be hard to change it, you might have to just cancel the delivery and order it again.

I used to by a lot from them when they first started. Maybe like 3-4 years ago? I have dozens of folders that they used to give for free with each order. Then one day, I bought something, a specific colour. They incorrectly used the wrong SKU on the right product on the website, and REFUSED to send me the correct colour. They're stupid and refused to fix their mistakes, never spent another cent on them, they just want money and don't give a damn how loyal you are. Not surprised they're still shitty years later.

Dude I recently went on there for fun to poke around and I saw a really cute dress for $26. I add to my cart and just as I was about to check out I saw that it automatically added an additional 20 dollars to its original price. I could literally just buy the same dress off the official Japanese website for less. Needless to say I will no longer do business there.
