Constitutional silver is still a “Tier 1” stacking item for this prepper stacker (along with government-minted silver bullion). However, it (and sovereign silver) IS difficult to get it at a reasonable price so that’s why I’ve largely put it on hold. However, there are still deals to be had-especially in private sales. 😉

Why bother to confiscate with the logistical issues and possible blowback when you can legalize for payments like Missouri (I think). That way, people will happily pay their taxes in order for the privilege of residing on the property while the government sucks up the silver/gold from people's hands.

I only stack junk because I can buy it at melt. That makes it a no-brainer, considering how high the premiums are on the pretty stuff. I would much rather have the pretty stuff, but at what cost? 😐 I'm not going to pay a 20-30% premium, not to mention 50-100%(!!)

I think it’s silly to worry about the cost too much, but what you want, have fun, more OZ ? Then buy only from a mining co, or bars, but to say sovereign only and only oz matter isn’t a consistent thought, rounds are cheaper ! I say have fun, the value will go updo much it won’t matter, and the premium is probably going to stay high through the transition, so it will travel with the oz in whatever form. That’s my opinion :-)

I have definitely seen a huge increase in premiums on triple 999 fine rounds.. and sovereign coins..

@@littleredpony6868 Two: 1. resale value and 2. in the event the government confiscates gold (it's been done before in the US (1930s) and UK (1960-70)) forcing gold holders to "ship" their stacks abroad, no one will argue about the actual purity of the metal when reselling it. It makes it more difficult for sb to cheat you on the value. Same goes for silver. 3. In the event of war, the higher the purity, the higher the "bartering value." In this case, we are looking at perceptions. During WW2, the people who were able to escape certain death did so with pure gold.

In Canada, our junk silver is 80% and weighs .6 of an ounce per dollar. I pay 1$ premium for a one dollar denomination in junk silver. I agree that American junk silver has a high premium. I purchased 10$ of American junk silver for 250$. That's 7.15 ounces. I also purchased 10$ of Canadian junk silver for 190$. That's 65$ for 1.15 more ounces of silver. In Canada, silver costs about 29.00$ an ounce.

Constitutional Silver was originally the way to go, best bang for your buck and low premium. Unfortunately since the pandemic it's been crazy, there's more value in generic bars and rounds. Also worth noting that the 90% is only a finite supply and they aren't minting anymore. Compared to bullion coins and rounds that are being massed produced....

You have mentioned in the past that at some point you wish to exchange your silver for real assets/goods/services, what if that asset, product or service is worth less than a full ounce of silver when silver gets its true evaluation? You will essentially have to accept change for the difference more than likely in the form of 90% constitutional silver. You have also mentioned that we should not be measuring silver value in terms of the fiat since it wont matter when the fiat we are currently using goes to zero. I get that silver premiums over 10 dollars is ridiculous for silver coins that have been minted in the ten's of millions ( I am looking at you ASE's) but I do think more people should keep an open mind when it comes to fractional silver, especially 90% constitutional silver since it is both government minted and has actually been used as a medium of exchange in the past.

Wierdly here in the UK I can pick up US constitutional at melt - basically it's not impacted by the US "not invented here" mentality. It really isn't prized highly in the UK. So I buy it all the time which works out well as I have US property and some US liabilities. I also have about $250 face in 90% quarters but they are the Proof State Quarters which are usually way cheaper than the pre 64 and again I've bought at melt and occasionally under melt. Non-US constitutional is way better value than the US (and to a lesser extent Mexican Silver). I loaded up with 80% CAD canoes (I have over 100 of them), 92.5 Sterling and anything from Dutch 72% up. I agree entirely that nobody is going to hand over Silver in a confiscation nor will the government try something so stupid. They will just slap a bunch of taxes on Silver sales and purchases - probably calling it a "Windfall tax" should the Silver price shoot to the moon. Because silver is an asset that generally the politically right of centre believe in; and there's no way big government is going to allow those types of citizens to become rich, because being wealthy would give power and independence to their political enemies.

We don't have constitutional silver here. We only had it from 1928-1942 (75% silver) and any coins from that period have heavy premiums and are sold more for the numismatic value rather than melt value. 'Round's' also very difficult to come across. The closest we have are 1oz Tokelau (a dependency of New Zealand) coins which are minted in Europe and right now are around $24. However even though I'm only stacking for the last few months I have been able to pick up Britannia's, Maples, Krugerrands, Kangaroos, Philharmonics etc. at bargain prices by keeping a close eye on the bullion dealers special offers. It is getting more difficult though as the demand for silver increases.

I'm not saying to stack a ton of these but to at Least have a roll of each. Great video. I used to stack it. I've never stacked many ASE's however. Honestly I have stacked a fair amount of Cook's Islands, and other American coins, but I don't care that they're coins over rounds even a little. I stack for weight so I have more rounds and bars than anything. Even gold, though I have mostly coins, I'm fine with rounds or bars. Weight, weight, weight and the lowest premium possible is my moto. If we don't trust governments, why is a coin with their mint mark worth more to me? I've seen good fakes. If I'm going to buy outside of an LCS or online dealer that I trust, any piece is going on the Sigma round or coin, or bar. As far a confiscation, 100% agree. At the time, gold and silver was in everybody's pocket comparatively to now. It was coinage back then. Less than 1% of us have it. It's not worth their effort. Plus we're usually like minded and stack lead and they know compliance would be near zero. They'll swipe our electronic accounts and tax us more instead. While I fully agree that free markets correct and dictate and that gold and silver will have more of a place backing currencies in the future than they do now, and that there will always be people like us who seek it and find value, the common sheep will chose a CBDC because they're asleep, especially the younger ones. We'll hold our value in global metal markets more than in a day to use medium of exchange I believe. It's so funny in an ironic way that you mention dumping 90% percent to buy more weight. I make the same argument for ASE's. If I held a bunch, I'd dump it for Buffalos or Crook Island coins, or bars and essentially add weight for free. I don't hear enough people mentioning this... Great video Brother.

confiscation of non-american silver/precious metals is completely laughable. if they're gonna confiscate metals, they'd just take it all, regardless of origin. despite it's high premiums, constitutional does have the advantage of being recognizable, and would be an easier transition for most people - teaching people about metals and value after a dollar collapse would be tough, especially with the brain (or lack thereof) of an average american

I agree. The theory that government will confiscate non American products is comical. However, could be a great way to get people to buy overpriced American Silver Eagles out of fear.

The 90% silver dollars, like the Morgan silver dollars and the peace dollars are constituted. The American silver eagles isn’t considered constitutional since they’re pure bullion and contain more silver than what was defined as a dollar by the 1792 coinage act

I'm with you, SSE. I don't want junk silver, overpriced or not. A lot of boomers have weird SHTF fantasies where they're running around trading junk silver for goods to survive. It's not going to work that way. I'm stacking .999 kilo bricks at the moment, and it's all about weight. Once the dollar starts dumping or gets replaced as the WRC, our stacks will be worth small fortunes.

You have great content in your videos but your evaluation of constitution silver is different then mine and that's ok . No I wouldn't pay more then 20 to 1 for silver that's 30 an ounce and the reason Ms. Walton spent all that money on A.S.E. and constitution silver is the end game when time to sell no taxes on profit earned .you can't say that about when cashing other precious metals in. This was a comment for the Author of the video. Sorry it got under your comment. But you miss the whole barter aspect of stacking Constitutional Silver. Dimes and quarters will be great fractional units if you need to barter for bread, vegetables and other small necessities. Just ask the Venezuelans!! I’m not disagreeing that new stackers missed the window on cheap Constitutional silver, but you should at least mention it’s role in the future and why it’s important.

You might need to have a scale and show them the weight once cut… Then they might have to have a scale to prove the weight to someone else. Seems like a lot of work. I won’t buy constitutional 90% at these outrageous premiums, but those 35% silver war nickles you mentioned the other day are a good deal. I also recommend the 40% Kennedy halves if you can find them for $1.99 or less over spot. My LCS had them for $1.53 over spot recently. But if your space is limited, these wouldn’t be optimal.

I still think that if we were to face a SHTF scenario, and people were taking Silver (or Gold) for barter, then they may be much more likely to require pure Silver for products. Most are not going to have the capability to extract the Silver from Constitutional coinage. Think of it this way, some silverware is made of Sterling Silver, which is approx. 92.5% Silver, but how would you feel if you had produce, or electronics, or tools for sale (or barter), and someone asks if they can have a hammer, two tomatoes, and some cucumbers, and they will give you three spoons, and a knife? Unlikely.
