Mike Chang was a fake natty in the OG days, you wouldn't know his name if he had a true natty physique you dumb sht. You prove my point. Fake natty physiques sell supplements, its not a new grift. This is called “spiritual evolution” - moving from the obsession with the world of form to the inner world. Moving from the obvious level of how we look, to the more subtle level of how we feel. Thank you for this Mike. I also went from an insecure bodybuilder to someone who now happily pursues fitness + strength + flexibility + inner happiness
@FFTuk
@FFTuk 9 ай бұрын
Also called ‘aging’ 😂.But it is true, spiritual evolution is that next stage as our bodies can no longer do that volume and intensity of training as we get older. But that doesn’t mean that we can’t be physically strong and healthy. Different outlooks for different phases of life, and you have to try to be happy in them all.

I went the opposite way. After ascending spiritually and learning more than nearly everyone in the world about the spirit realm, how it all works, God etc I’m literally just trying to get as strong and muscular as possible. I’ve killed my ego numerous times and now I’m intentionally building it bigger than ever lol. In a positive way. Once you ascend spiritually enough and realise that everything is literally both meaningless and meaningful and that every good thing you can experience doesn’t come close to the feeling and exhilaration of being one with God and you see that every good thing is just that. A thing that somehow sparks joy in you. You start becoming more content than joyful because there is so much more feeling and joy in God than anything including sex. Everything becomes so insignificant. Then you’ve got to start to learn how to enjoy the insignificant things once you’re fully back “in your body”. Getting as strong as possible is now what fuels my ego and I love it. You need to do things to benefit you. You can’t go through life just exploring the spirit realm. You start going crazy and your life becomes too simple and joy become complacency. Sure nothing in the world compares to God but as living humans we still need to experience life and the different non sinful joys of life, even the sinful joys of life (not that I encourage it, sin always leads to a worse outcome) to know what we can do to occupy our time for the rest of our life and eternity. Being a psychonaut is a great hobby but eventually life catches up and you don’t have the time to keep on exploring the spiritual side of things and you’ve got to fix this, fix that, do this and that and have everything together before you can go back to exploring the depths of the multiverse.

@@universalnetwork264 spoken like a teenager who lives in California and has done too much dmt 😂. That’s what happens when people replace meditation and the endogenous controlled dmt release along with the hard work and introspection that comes with it, for a rip on a pipe or and hand full of shrooms. They are a good tool to make people see that the world isn’t black and white. But if your end point is building your ego and muscular hypertrophy then I don’t think it’s God that you spoke to buddy. But we each walk our own path and I wish you good luck on yours 👍🏼

What my man is saying is spot on. I spent 14 years pushing heavyweight and succumbing myself to injury after injury by creating too much tension, and not enough suppleness. A few years ago I started really working on fascia elasticity and three dimensional movement patterns that awakened my body to perform at such a higher level. I have fun and every single day is a day of exploration. I love this video.

Being healthy means being limber and flexible.. most people dont work on those and rather push weight and become a block of meat. Stretching its extremely important especially when we get older. Doing pullups/hanging off the bar with 1 or two hands keeps posture/ shoulders healthy and unlocking your hipflexors to become mobile is really important so you dont get injury and keeping them strong too, most people push heavy weights but so dont control it and thats how shit gets snapped up

I can totally relate to this. Of course I never got the physique Chang has, but I have trained for almost 20 years, looking for muscle, size and/or strength. I have a surgically replaced thorn biceps, both elbows with chronic pain (not surgery available), one knee and usual articular pains. I never looked good enough. I still train, but started muay thai and aerobic training...for the sake of it and health. Every finished session is a pleasure, and I am not always looking for the result, but enjoying themselves. I remember when I was a kid in high school who was sick of being small. I found six pack shortcuts and even bought your afterburn pre workout supplements. I actually gained a ton of muscle. You really got me into bodybuilding and just personal fitness. But after I grew up I realized the same things you did. I started doing yoga and calisthenics workouts instead. I started doing things that I really enjoyed doing. Not being big because I just wanted to be bigger compared to other people. It never made me feel better, just put me into a constant state of comparison towards other people. Like I was always competing for no reason at all. Now, I feel great with my workouts and the reasons behind them. Bali does that to you though I guess. I say I guess because I haven’t been there yet. I’m taking a visit there in may though. I’m seeing how I like it compared to other places. Currently seeking my destination. I’m financially free now and can live anywhere I want. I’m not tied down to a job so I’m really putting thought into it. I hope to see you there. It would be really cool to meet you my man. You were a huge inspiration for me then, and even now.

Most bodybuilders or gym goers are weak and functionally disabled. I was one of them until i start working on construction sites and power plants. Big musles and bodies are a hindrance there. I was insanely strong but then one of the guys gave me a hammer and told me to unscrew a messed up bolt with a spanner . I started hammering the spanner. 5 minutes in i couldn't breathe and more forearm was pumped so much that it literally hurt. They showed me a lot more examples that muscles dont do a thing about real life. I started to switch from powerlifting to calisthenics and high rep training to improve my endurance and body function. I lost a lot of muscle , but now im shredded but it feels like i don't get tired at all while doing manual labour for hours. Losing the muscle in my legs and butt was probably the most wonderful thing that ever happened to me. Walking freely , getting into tight spaces to fix some things , wearing jeans etc etc. All those bodybuilding bs is literally making people forget that their body can do so many other things than simply get big and build muscle for no reason at all. So listen to me if you are starting now , stay away from bodybuilding . Do push up , dips , pull ups , bodyweight squats , run , train for endurance, or join a martial arts club or somethig . You will not only get slim and incredibly body but a body that can do tasks for long periods without getting tired

I wish all of Mike Changs Six pack short cuts videos weren't deleted. Those videos were helpful and good.

I feel like every man goes through an ego phase where he needs to lift and look big. But once you get older and mature you understand that there are much more important things in life that you should focus on. And being in control, here and now, happy and feeling fulfilled is key to do anything in life! I am very glad to see that Mike has achieved that. I watched his videos from when I was twelve years old. I hope some other guys feel the same way...

Gym is therapeutic, lifting weights releases endorphins and makes you stronger mentally not just physically You can still focus on other things in life bro, a weight lifting session only takes 30 minutes 😂 Obviously taking steroids is dumb but working out just to be strong and healthy is better than sitting down watching KZbin

I had this same problem with bodybuilding only I just felt drained. I started jogging and doing yoga to open up my breathing and feel miles better.

I haven't seen you in a very, very, very long time... but I followed you pretty regularly years ago and watched you gain the muscle. I'm old enough now that I'm more into functional fitness. If I can do things around the house and in the yard, I'm pretty happy.

This is why having a sport attached to your workout goals helps. I don’t work out to look better, I work out to be more explosive, have a stronger core, and be able to compete against guys with 20-60 lbs on me. Train cardio without water to maintain performance with low hydration. Practice juggling and skipping for coordination. Should never be about looking better. That’s a side effect of you being better.

Very insightful. Yes, we need both. That’s what martial arts, qigong, Tai Chi, and Yoga is all about. Not just for the body but more importantly for the mind. The body will fade but the mind will go with you until your physical body dies. Well, at least for most people. 😊
